New assembled from the factory has slop, and not movement slop. Needs a little to function right. I've put them in with tight bushings and they won't release under spring pressure. Won't matter a whole lot and will still pass dot. Wondering why unless there wasn't one available.
YES, as the depth of cuts are less it goes from being blue to be a tan color, then as the heat soak continues it changes color further towards blue. This the brake actuator from a truck. On the end you can't see there would be an air cylinder and the end in the chuck which is shaped like an S pushes the brake shoes out. The are called S cam brakes.....

It's cutting a weld. The weld is what caused the color, not the turning tool.
