      Blue Waffles I see a bit of a problem with the turning test, when Sariel turned the wheel to the max then pushed the model, the front wheels immediately lashed back and made the turning way wider

    The external tool is ment to simulate the second key which you need for the original car to go on Top Speed of 463 km/h. And it can be stored under the hood.

      It's bluetooth based, and the receiver is integrated into the BB. But is uses new plugs, and the power and control unit only has 2 ports, so one can only insert/control 2 motors. Also we do not have backwards compatibility with PF 1.0 (and by extension, 9V)
      After all the hype and high expectations, PF 2.0 turned out not to be more than a weaker Sbrick or BuWizz. That's why i called it a joke

    I have this set for about half a year. When I finished it, the front suspension didn't work at all and I had ZERO building errors. Now, after sitting on a shelf for so long, the rear suspension has got so stiff that it doesn't work either.Lol. As these sets get older, their functions start working poorly or not work at all. But for display, both the Bugatti and the Porsche are amazing. I don't regret buying them although they should be cheaper. I can't wait to see the Lamborghini they are gonna release in the summer and someone who sees this comment 😂.

    Thanks again for another fantastic review. Your detailed reviews that highlight both the good and bad really help with the decision process...after all spending 360 Eur on a Lego set should not be taken lightly. Dolovo_Gaming I get that per piece, but it doesn't feel worth the money as a display piece. Its lack of power functions feels cheap considering the price too. But I will admit, it's a lovely set to buy if you don't mind the investment.

    At first I thought "16+R" was a typo. It's incredible that they could fit that many speeds into a reasonably compact package like that! Especially given the last model had only 4+R.

    The only good thing about these supercars are the tire rims, which are great for MOCs, but u could use the 4*6 angle beam instead.
    That transmission is worth learning from, but it's just two simple 4 speed gearboxes put together, making it a 4*4 transmission.

    Front suspension issue is matter of spring stiffness. The same problem I have with Arocs - when on display it goes low after some time. This is why I keep it on display with extra support behind the wheels. It is just few extra pieces connected to a chassis.

    My 2cents.
    Currently building this model after much procrastination, and took notice of the front suspension comment you made, a simple fix is below.
    The cars front suspension will hold up under it's own weight, it's a minor design fault by Lego, I swapped the blue triple pins where the control arms mount to the frame, for the cream colored triple pins. I have a smooth flowing front end that returns under it's own effort.

    Playability 3 stars?
    - no hog steering
    - it's hard to reach the steering wheel
    - you can't really see the difference between the gears
    - the doors are flimsy
    - you can only move the spoiler by pushing an axle into the fender
    In fact the function which is the most fun to play with is the opening of the front hood. Since LEGO is sponsoring your sets, your reviews got way to positive.

    I personally own this set and I have a myth to bust about the Chiron's transmission.
    On the instructions and in actual, it has 2 rings on the right and 2 rings on the left. The left rings with the blue gears are for 4 small speeds and the right rings controls the larger speed range, so the transmission is a 4*4=16 speeds.
    But upon closer examination, I found that the 2 rings on the right have only 2 speeds i
    n effect, so it is actually an 8 speed transmission.
    The reverse gear is outside the transmission, so the Chiron has, in total, 8+R speeds.

    I have the suspension issue figured out! When I disconnected the shock absorbers both from the front and rear wheels, the suspension arm was still quite stiff because stiff pins were used rather than axles, I moved the arm up and down and it was quite stiff anyway, and the stiffness of the pins prevents the shock absorbers from stretching back up once pushed down
    Edit: it’s not because the weight is too much for the springs. Check out my video on my channel to see my solution , I adjusted the suspension and took away the stiffness and the suspension is very responsive and bouncy now

  • @checompprinceton
    @checompprinceton 6 років тому

    You have a build issue with your front shocks. You have the bottoms mounted one stud inboard from what the build instructions show. I made a similar mistake when building my version. This is the cause of the poor function of the front shocks.

    Guys, 3 quick questions, since I finished the build, and everything works, but I don't want to break anything:
    1. in Drive, is the car by default in neutral gear, or in first gear?
    2. If the car is in first gear, how many times can you actually up shift?
    3. Once you reach at the end of the gears, so say you changed form 7th gear to 8th gear, and 8th gear is the last, for example, what happens if you try to change up again? Do you go back to first gear, or do you break something?

    • @searme
      @searme  4 роки тому

      1. There is no neutral gear.
      2. Endlessly. It's a sequential transmission.
      3. You go back to first gear, because it's a sequential transmission.

    I have noticed a slight misprint in the first instruction book at step 40. When it tells you too X2 build the rear suspension set up. But from the right and left side there is one piece that must be put into a different position shown in step 41. It's right by the disc brake and has to do with the connection at the bottom of the suspension spring.

    I would say the dedicated tool looks a lot like the superspeed key, which allowed the veyron to change the rear spoiler behaviour so it reached higher speed with less downforce. I thought they got rid of this in the chiron, but anyway its a cool trick to actually make a tool that remember you this :)

    Hi Sariel,
    i kinda feel disappointed and slightly let down by your review. I respect the work you put into it. A half hour review sure takes time, when you discuss your points in great detail. So props to you for that. I have to say tho that I expected an unbiased review like your take on the porsche, however i do have the impression that you reviewed the bugatti in favor of Lego. Let me explain: I’m not saying that this is a bad set and that i expected you to rip it apart. This is not the case here, but you have left so many things untouched! For example, i thought that you would explain the “gap-topic” more. That you would point out all the gaps that are crucial to the looks of this car like those all over the hood. On the porsche you have shown us all the flimsy bits, but didn’t mention them here at all. Are there really none? I don’t think so. You didn’t share your own personal opinion on the c-curve outside of the car. You have not shared your thoughts on the sticker solution on the doors. You have ignored the solution of the side mirrors, build from simple panels. You commented on them in your Porsche review. But now it seems you have given up on them ever changing this design. There was no mention of the missing fuelcap in your Video. You have not delved in to the interiour like you did with the porsche, although this time around it is so much more interesting! You had a really detailed view on it in your porsche review. I also hoped for a true comparison with its real life version. Sure you pointed out some details, but you didn’t mention the fact that lego chose the wrong colors: In the real life version of the car the color black is only used on the grids. In the model however, they have used it on the whole backside and on the front fender! Speaking of colours, you didn’t even mention the fact that they used light bluish grey instead of silver pieces. It always was a part of your reviews! You yourself said in a reply to a comment on your Mack Truck review, that you will name even the smallest mistakes, because if you don’t, tlg won’t see that there is any reason to get better.
    Now i don’t know why you reviewed it the way you did, maybe you didn’t have enough time with all that’s going on, but that is not the way i know you Sariel. This was not an unbiased review like normally. You didn’t critizise the set enough, instead you were praising it slightly too much. Like the whole spoiler thing. Did we really need all these shots of you playing with it? I know it’s great and all but come on.
    Some of my examples may be considered nitpicking... but that’s what you do! Normally You review everything in great detail. What happened?
    I also should add that i don’t own this set yet, i only spent hours looking at pictures.
    Overall i agree with what you said and respect your work, but i do have the impression that this is an incomplete review. I’d love to hear your take on this. Thank you.
    @everybody: What is your opinion? Am i being too harsh? Am i expecting too much? Or do you share my views?

    • @randomdudeontheinternet4389
      @randomdudeontheinternet4389 6 років тому +1

      Honestly, don't do that, that does more harm then good. I'd rather wait, till the specific pieces get cheaper on Bricklink, and then buy the pieces separately. Yes, it's quite some effort, but it's a lot cheaper, than buying the set (if you manage your orders right).

    • @syclone
      @syclone 6 років тому +3

      You're not being harsh, you are telling the truth. And btw, did we really need a fake spoiler opened by an external key? Why make new driving extensions and switched if the old ones worked fine?
      IMHO Technic is becoming a shelf-model production line. Stupidly overpriced sets, badly realised designs and mechanics and using just popular stuff to hype people and attrack attention around it.
      Would you pay 370€ for 3kg of ABS? I bet you wouldnt. Neither you should fo it on this

    • @krzysztofmatuszek
      @krzysztofmatuszek 6 років тому +2

      Bartelas Greenleaf I agree with you completely; this set has maaaaany drawbacks, first being the price, second the lack of interesting functions. The new gearbox pieces are cool, but I'll buy some via Bricklink separately, saving 320EUR easy (I expect them to be really pricey). The spoiler thing is NOT a mechanical mastery - it's in fact a shame, because a lever incorporated in the dashboard should be used instead of this strange keyish thingy.

    They didn't make a new piece to make the pistons have a bit different timing? 4 of the pistons in a W16 engine firing at the same time is not realistic.
    Also, disappointing that they didn't fix some of the problems the Porsche had, like the steering wheel and mirrors.
