One advantage that he has is that he sees himself as a teacher, both as he imparts knowledge to his students and colleagues, and to those in his care as patients and families of patients. To do this job, it is important that you have these skills. This testimony is just an extension of these skills. He is much clearer in his testimony.

There were several things he said he used that turned out to be completely false information (vomitus, earpiece, comparing JD in commercials and pirates vs testimony) in his evaluation, and when brought to his attention, he didn't seem to care. He definitely should not be an expert witness ever and it should be grounds for an appeal for any case he's testifed in. He does not need to be treating patients if he carries that same attitude into his practice.

Because psychologists have more training about the psychology of the mind than psychiatrists, That's why Dr. Shaw stressed that Amber Heard's expert was out of his pay grade when making his opinions.

I don't trust mental health professionals in general. Too many misdiagnoses, too many drugs I didn't need, too little care and attention to the actual human being. Also, psychiatrists seem to have a weird knack for picking up doctors with HUGE ego, and they WILL punish their patients for perceived disrespect -- one patient at mental hospital with me spoke up against his psychiatrist once, and he got sent upstairs to where "the REALLY crazy people go". I only saw him one more time after that, he looked like he hadn't slept in days. Mental health is a radioactive dumpster fire in the US, it cannot be said loudly or often enough.

My favorite example is shark attacks are correlated to ice cream sales and consumption. It was a real study. But basically its hot out so more people eating ice cream and at the beach to cool down. Since there's more people at the beach and trying to cool down, there are more people in the water which increases chances of shark attacks.
Sharks are not attracted to people who are full of ice cream. But there is a correlation between ice cream sales and shark attacks.
Real connection: Hot out. People cool down by ice cream and water. What lives in certain frequented bodies of water? Sharks.

What a complete 180 from the previous AH “psychiatrist”. This Dr. Is calm, speaks clearly, and explains in detail that others can understand. AH “doctor” was brash, arrogant, and defensive. This gentleman has a soothing voice.

Anyone else notice that having a calm, professional, non-hostile and wise professional in the room has lead to Mr Depp’s body language relaxing and opening up? I don’t believe in the strict science of body language but he’s actually looking at this expert/witness with an engaged attention. I also feel far more reassured, personally.

What's good about this psychiatrist is that he looks at both the jury and lawyer as to keep everyone in when talking about this sense of scientific 'language' that many people would not understand, he is also very calm and focused, unlike the drug feuled psychiatrist AH's team came with

Dr. Smeagol: "Just take a few of these a day whenever your feeling down."
Patient: "Thank you Dr. Shaw, see you next week."
Dr. Shaw: "You again! Get out of my office!"

Just the difference in experts being called is staggering! AH’s “experts” seem to be glorified yes men, saying whatever they’re coached to, while Johnny’s experts are well spoken, well mannered, and well educated in their fields. I hope the law firms being represented with these two teams are paying close attention. One is playing checkers, while the other is playing 3D chess.

Well, spoken, not an egotistical Buffoon, extremely articulate, well spoken, well educated and completely believable. Great job Doctor!
