I purchased it a couple of months ago... mine came sharp enough out of the box... in fact I have cut myself a couple of time playing with it. This knife is really sleek and nice looking... my friends at the office had gone really mad about it, specially when when we were eating out at a local steak house restaurant and the knife they gave at the restaurant was really bad... I took out my CRKT from my jacket pocket and started cutting at the meat on the plate and everybody went mad about how cool was it. Is a well done for office related stuff like opening envelopes, and opening packing, slicing fruit that you take as a office snack, etc... Love it.
Been carrying my CEO since they first came out. I can tell you that for EDC it does a lot more than just open envelopes. Takes an edge quickly, doesn’t necessarily hold it that long, but it’s easy to re-sharpen. The real plus is that it really does fit anywhere that a ball point pen would fit. And tucks very conveniently into the back corner pocket of pants so that you can still put your hands in your pockets without constantly banging them against the top of your pocket knife.
Yes yes yes!!! That's where I carry mine! HUGE selling point. Good for shirt pockets, but should be advertised for front pockets also. I got tired of not being able to put my hand in my pocket. Also leaves room for other things, phone, etc...
I just picked up the green micarta, copper and D2 version. There isn’t anything I dislike about this knife. It’s beautiful. I echo all your points with the knife. It’s a pretty great knife and quickly becoming my favorite EDC.
Very nice thin knife. 100% office or home very light use. 8CR13MOV on a blade that thin is not going to take much abuse well won't take any. Great letter opener and the bubble wrap packages. Good info regarding the upcoming version. Thanks for sharing this video.
I saw a while back on Blade HQ that there is a D2 version in the works. But then I didn't hear any updates. Blade HQ has it still as 'Coming Soon'. The D2 version really looks pretty nice too with Green micarta and copper liners.
I picked mine up from Academy. It was the last one they had and I haven't seen one since. It's an awesome knife you could carry to casual and formal events.
The CEO reminds me allot of the Ruike P865 I just picked one of them up because I personally like the design better plus it's tip up! Very similar knife though 👌 you guys might like it! 😁
The crossbones always reminds me of the Boker Stingray. If they'd made a smaller version (or even better just shortened it and kept the original width, I'd absolutely buy one.
For about the same price, they could do 14c28n and kill it! They have so many cool designs. Closest to this knife I have is the Benchmade fact in s30v. I paid $160 for it but I just checked and now they want $195!
Just got my CEO today. Me, 65 years old RA in my right hand to where I cannot even make a closed fist. I have about 20 knives in my meager collection. 1) The knife needs 2-10 complete action cycles to dramatically loosen up. Lock up is about 50% on day one. That`s ok. Centering is off a little but the left side liner lock is naturally bowed, so that`s ok too. Adjust the pivot screw if necessary. 2) Opening is not quite as bad as people voice, however CLOSING the knife IS more difficult (for me), as the liner is BELOW the handle surface, you just need a thumbnail, skin is to soft. 3) CEO IS NOT a defensive knife, get that out of your head. You will get in more trouble pulling this relative toothpick. 4) The knife is what it is, nothing more. For me there is some OVER HYPE on this model. It IS a front pocket light duty knife for packages, string, eating. And not much more. As a TOP FRONT POCKET tool, it`s fine. 5) Would I buy it again (pd. 33.99 and tax), maybe. Maybe not. There is stiff competition among the manufacturers. All in all the knife stands out for being unique. 6) Should you buy one? Only if you crave a top pocket pen knife. Good luck and cheers mates! p.s. I have 2 other CRKT thumb flick knives, this one of the 3 is actually the easiest to open. Light pressure at the CORRECT ANGLE opens it nicely, although having just got it I`m still slow and cautious. I`m not at the "rockets out" blade opening stage yet. Practice will get you there good enough to match the CEO design. Good build quality at price point. A typical 4 Star out of 5 Star rating is about right, IMHO. Be more careful when handling this particular knife! Take your time with it and just ENJOY the CEO top pocket knife tool.
I love mine, though it took a while to get flicking it down. (I have much larger hands) Nice to carry in "polite areas" while your real knife is elsewhere.
I like the carbon fiber but I wouldn't go as far as saying that 8CR13MOV is a wonder steel. Micarta would be classy as well! I would use it in the office... (batoning open letters).
This Last Saturday I was at a pawn shop and saw a crkt ceo for 20$ .I didn't get it and when I went back today to get it, it was sold. They sold it Saturday shortly after I left. I should have bought it
Crkt has some really nice designs I just dont like the materials I just picked up the 25th anniversary homefront in m390 and titianum what a great knife they should give the option for better materials and charge more and let the customer decide.
@@jelle2511 I was getting some lock stick too ace hardware has something called ox-gard its a ant oxidant compound put some where the frame lock hits the blade it totally takes any lock stick away
Just curious as to what the story is with some of the CEO 7096’s that have the model# 7096K (the K is not listed on the model# directly from CRKT). Are you privy or have any insight? PLMK ASAP. Thank you!
The CEO isn’t UK Legal, but Heinnie Haynes does a UK Legal version. 3" blade, no thumb stud and liner lock. Nice, but not the same. I have one, and I like it, but no fast deployment or lock. Losing 0.1" shouldn’t hurt, but the swedge is not so nice. Tip down works as it’s a jacket pocket knife, but it’s an ugly clip. The Böker plus Wasabi is prettier. Have you seen the custom original? £800!
I’d pick up the Crossbones instead of the CEO. The clip on the CEO ruins it for me. If it had a thin black clip I would probably change my mind. Also, I have been looking for a good budget knife for my granddaughter’s Christmas present, but most all of them are D2. I just don’t want her to have to deal with rust. I’m still looking. If you have any ideas I would really appreciate it.
Always liked this knife, but will never buy one since its right hand only as far as the clip and thumb stud. I don't want to have to open it upside down. Still kinda want one though.
Nice review . Im so jealous that you have the crkt ruger lck . Ive been looking for it for months and its been discontinued so im sure ill never be able to get my hands on one.
It's 8cr, $40 is all it's worth. At least they could have used Sandvik ot D2 steel and charged a little more. Even VG10 would be nice. My first CKRT was my last as it came completely apart the first time it was forgotten in the pants pocket in the washing machine. Never again.
I thought you guys did have a Kwaiken knife? I remember Bird picked up the Todd Begg Steel Craft Kwaiken one of your last night's in Vagas at a knife show. Then he made a $500 dollar bet on roulette and won the price of the knife back or did I dream that all up? 😴😂
you can tell it's a bit cheap when you inspect it in person, and I find it a bit hard to hold and open one handed because it's so thin in your hand, but for $40 it's a nice little package opener that feels and looks great in the pocket. using your thumbnail to catch the notch when opening seems to help a lot.
I just don’t get why CRKT categorically refuses to do VG-10 or D2 in this knife. That would be badass. I’d pay $50. Just upgrade the damned steel for the love o’ Pete!
I like it to bad it wasn’t called a CFO instead of CEO lol...would’ve been mean to be since that’s my position at my company it’s a great office carry I really like that black crkt bones not so much but I respect it
At least they're coming out with a D2 version. Crkt has some really nice designs too. Even if they went with 14c28n, I think they'd sell better. Real Steel does a good job with their 14c28n. They're some of the sharpest knives out of the box I've found.
Was gonna buy before I saw how dainty it is. $40 Letter Opener. I remember when CRKT was a cool company. They make $5 knives that they sell for $30. I suppose you get what you pay for.
It's a gentlemen's knife, designed so that it can be carried in an environment where you don't want it to attract attention. That's why it's "dainty". I bet your coworkers would be scared shitless when you come to work with a ka-bar on you...
For aggressive negotiations
I purchased it a couple of months ago... mine came sharp enough out of the box... in fact I have cut myself a couple of time playing with it. The silhouette closed is my favorite part. So sleek!

Have one. Most definitely shirt pocket friendly.
That pocket clip needs to be sanded down to remove the logo. 400 grit would leave a nice finish.
I just picked up the green micarta, copper and D2 version. There isn’t anything I dislike about this knife. It’s beautiful. I echo all your points with the knife. It’s a pretty great knife and quickly becoming my favorite EDC.

You know, After getting the CEO, I could definitely have seen them integrating a clip in the tail cap/spacer. That would be really slick.
The CRKT M16-01S is on sale for $14.60 on amazon right now if you're not a gentle person.
I saw a while back on Blade HQ that there is a D2 version in the works. But then I didn't hear any updates. Blade HQ has it still as 'Coming Soon'. The D2 version really looks pretty nice too with Green micarta and copper liners.
I got my Birdshot IV BladeHQ exclusive knaf! It's awesome, and super drop shuty.
I picked mine up from Academy. It was the last one they had and I haven't seen one since. It's an awesome knife you could carry to casual and formal events.

I agree with you on the clip needing to be shorter and maybe a dark colored option! But my oh my micarta!!!!!!!!!
This will be my 2nd knife to my collection.

I subscribed for this dudes woman. She knows more then he does.
I have a kwaiken (sp?) with copper scales. Completely awesome. Just got the CEO. It’s so nice.
I like the carbon fiber but I wouldn't go as far as saying that 8CR13MOV is a wonder steel. Micarta would be classy as well! I would use it in the office... (batoning open letters).
I’m kinda all about that d2 micarta life... IF ONLY THE IMP WOULD BE IN THAT COMBO!
This Last Saturday I was at a pawn shop and saw a crkt ceo for 20$ .I didn't get it and when I went back today to get it, it was sold. They sold it Saturday shortly after I left. I should have bought it
The CEO Shiv to eliminate all that stubborn business competition
lol ouch
Crkt has some really nice designs I just dont like the materials I just picked up the 25th anniversary homefront in m390 and titianum what a great knife they should give the option for better materials and charge more and let the customer decide.
Jamieluvsknives I bought that version to, it really is an awesome knife!! But if they did a metal insert, it would be the best knife of all time!!!
@@jelle2511 I was getting some lock stick too ace hardware has something called ox-gard its a ant oxidant compound put some where the frame lock hits the blade it totally takes any lock stick away
Looking forward to the Micarta too!
I’d buy it if there were a tip up carry option. CRKT really loves tip down.
Tip up would be easier in a breast pocket.
It does almost look like a folding letter opener. You might be able to baton match sticks with it.
You could maybe even baton toothpicks with it
They actually designed it for the breast pocket
A green micarta CEO would be awesome! Great vids guys!
Blade HQ has one. Green micarta, black D2 blade. Meh. Kinda defeats the purpose of a descreat pen knife.

You need to try out this sharpener I found I'm very impressed with it. It's called Block sharpener made in usa! It's perfect for EDC
The CEO isn’t UK Legal, but Heinnie Haynes does a UK Legal version. 3" blade, no thumb stud and liner lock. Nice, but not the same. I have one, and I like it, but no fast deployment or lock. what is that black crkt knife? at the start of the video
Very nice knife. The cool factor makes me need one.
I'd take the carry clip off. That would make it more of an office knife for me less obvious.
What is that black CRKT knife call?? I like that one.
Just got mine. Love it.
Very Boker Kwaiken'esque,
Ahh lol I commented on that before I got to the part that Frankie noted the same thing.. Great Minds hmm ?
after watching ur video I just picked one up today.such a neat little knife I'm very impressed for.the money
Envelope opener, if I didn’t already have a RUIKE in that role.
BTW a fight video would make me feel like family....
Always liked that CEO knife definitely on my list of ones I need
I’d pick up the Crossbones instead of the CEO. The clip on the CEO ruins it for me. If it had a thin black clip I would probably change my mind. Laura if U can wait till the new one comes out, get the new version of this one. Coated D2 doesn't rust 👍
Why do your reviews remind me of the Country Crock butter spread commercials from the 80s? UA-cam it. 😁
we were alive in the 80’s, we know about Country Crock. That couple totally copied us :D
BirdShot IV Lmao
the green micarta d2 is out now
I love mine. Great action. Well worth the price
Show us the blade swap you guys hinted at doing!!
What is the first black crkt knife you opened
Hi, what is the black tanto bladed CRKT knife?
Love this knife. Carry mine all the time.
Probably going to try to remove those brand logos when I get mine but other then that it's a very nice looking knife.
If anyone cares to look at an amazingly beautiful knife I just saw a "Forged de laguiole pocket knife" and the story is cool.. Its French made tho
It looks nice, but I can't think of a good reason to own one. Maybe if it was 4", and had jimping (traction). "CEO Deal Closer"
I like it and it’s perfect to use as a knife opener, great review guys. 🙂👍
Thoughts on it as a edc carry for someone who wants a less threating looking knife
Edc carry is redundant and I'm an idiot
Edc carry makes no sense I'm big dumb
I want to buy the new bhq esclusive one on d2 and micarta !!!!!! 🔥
Hey I lean towards stainless too for my frequent use case scenarios, so no hate here. EX: 4116 is my guilty pleasure for sure!!
So elegant thank u for your video this is my next knife..
Always liked this knife, but will never buy one since its right hand only as far as the clip and thumb stud. I don't want to have to open it upside down. Still kinda want one though.
I have all three. BUY them if that's the style you like
Nice review . Im so jealous that you have the crkt ruger lck . Ive been looking for it for months and its been discontinued so im sure ill never be able to get my hands on one.
It’s crazy the LCK has been discontinued!!
Is it as good as the Kershaw am3/4
I like the overall design just 8cr13 yuuukķ !
I'll wait for the D2 !
Was it better to carry and use the Honey Badger with my edge over the CEO?
Should I buy it?
It it had switchbladey finger guards I'd like it
I rock the BM Valet, so yeah the CRKT CEO is definitely my kind of knife. How about them calipers yo? :p
lol now we can't find our calipers.
BirdShot IV lmao
avihsnis They did say they needed to find a battery for them but now they lost them lol
Ohio Knife Lover now they have an excuse to upgrade to some mitutoyos :p
avihsnis More Harbor Freight calipers!!!
I need to handle the Crossbones, LCK and the CEO I want them all so bad
3rd
I breasted out 3 ducks this weekend love it doesn't take up any space in your pocket
Must have the green micarta/copper one! Ugghh they were just in stock at bladehq and sold out ina day🤬
Love your videos! Keep it up x 😊🦅
Really nice looking knife, I would lose the pocket clip for more discrete carry.
I'd give it the EDC design award for 2019. No doubt!
What if I don’t have an office? Would this knife still be appropriate?
Sure, you can carry it while watching the office also lol -Frankie
BirdShot IV...HaHaHa.
It's 8cr, $40 is all it's worth. At least they could have used Sandvik ot D2 steel and charged a little more. Even VG10 would be nice. My first CKRT was my last as it came completely apart the first time it was forgotten in the pants pocket in the washing machine. Never again.
Frankie I heard you saw “tweener” on the crossword last week or whatever 😂
I thought you guys did have a Kwaiken knife? I remember Bird picked up the Todd Begg Steel Craft Kwaiken one of your last night's in Vagas at a knife show. Then he made a $500 dollar bet on roulette and won the price of the knife back or did I dream that all up? 😴😂
I see CRKT is partaking of that Oregon weed again. $40 for 8cr and GRN? Cool design, but I’ll pass.
Please review Boker Kompakt Auto
you can tell it's a bit cheap when you inspect it in person, and I find it a bit hard to hold and open one handed because it's so thin in your hand, but for $40 it's a nice little package opener that feels and looks great in the pocket. using your thumbnail to catch the notch when opening seems to help a lot.
This CEO is possibly the sexiest knife I've ever seen.
Why can't it be tip up, D2 and have a flipper? Ok, I can forego the flipper tab but the other two? C'mon crkt!
I just don’t get why CRKT categorically refuses to do VG-10 or D2 in this knife. That would be badass. I’d pay $50. Just upgrade the damned steel for the love o’ Pete!
That duderino who's always first wasn't first today. Best patreon my hairy cheeks. I moved up today, maybe even breaking top 10😀
9:00 Why is there no straw in that coffee cup Frankie??
Lol bird made it for me. He tends to forget my straw! 😑 -Frankie
BirdShot IV Bird How dare you lol
I guessed $45. I suppose based on Price is Right rules I overbid and didn’t win one? 😂.
Chris Kunce Sadly that’s the rules and thanks for playing!
Seems about 10 dollars too much. I have looked at it for a while, just can’t jump for the price. Do really like the design.
i saw the title and thought you met the ceo of crkt
I have this I carry in my shirt pocket when I dress up.
You said duty, hehe he cool hehe.
I'd put a cubic zirconia on the thumb stud and charge $850. Some narcissists with too much cash would have to have it.
Totally a poorman's Kwaiken...and that's okay. Not all of us need a $150 letter opener. Who opens their mail these days anyway? No pugs today? 🥺
It’s a wonder steel, because I wonder why knife makers use it. 😂
I like it to bad it wasn’t called a CFO instead of CEO lol...would’ve been mean to be since that’s my position at my company it’s a great office carry I really like that black crkt bones not so much but I respect it
Hey
#1
Ohio Knife Lover .......damn you😉!
Joseph Troyer I’m just too good 🌚
Ohio Knife Lover Go Dawgs!
Just so tired of CRKT using the same steel all the time!
Wylde Bill But it’s their Lord and Savior 8Cr 🥺
I wouldn't mind if the price matched the material cost.
At least they're coming out with a D2 version. Crkt has some really nice designs too. Even if they went with 14c28n, I think they'd sell better. Real Steel does a good job with their 14c28n. They're some of the sharpest knives out of the box I've found.
Hi
Flappy 2713 Hey Majestic Flap Flap
Oh hi nick
2nd
I'm not a knife sizeist or anything, but I mean come on, this knife is the size of Bird's pinky finger, lol.
