Very Nice! I purchased 2 shipping containers to build the same structure as you. I knew what I wanted to build and I just happened across your video series. These videos might not be a "how to" but you have helped me out by watching the series. Thanks for putting this series together and keep up the GREAT work!
Exciting! Keep me posted on how it goes. Very cool
The yellow beast back in action. Great job Spencer. Our neighbor up tge road heats 5 buildings on his property with one wood boiler.
5 buildings! that's good news :) thanks
Good to see you were protecting your ears. Thanks for sharing
It's funny -- the shipping containers really magnify any sound in there ... something to work out in the future
Spence your a badass.
always having fun out there :) thanks man
Glad the littlest yellow monster is so helpful! Definitely worth the spend, I'd say! Great video!
The monster delivers! No extra bucket or grapple attachments yet :)
Getting posh now with electricity and water/heating and concrete,
Can't wait to see it finished.
Thanks for sharing.
Michael (from Scotland)
Posh barn!? Sounds good .... our barn cats will be happy. Good hearing from ya man
You're a busy guy! Looks awesome though! 😊
I'm trying to beat the snows!
@@metaspencer I completely understand!
"There's always more stuff..." Words to live by! Looking good Spencer... excited to see the concrete!
The stuff keeps coming! Good hearing from ya man. :)
Great to have part 10, have managed to catch up on the series of the build.
all caught up! woohoo!
Hello from the Netherlands .
thanks for the video .
Sincerely, Hollandduck
good to hear from ya buddy!
Wicked Cool Homie!
Thanks man! it's been interesting
With a wood boiler one option would be under floor heating. Be nice to have warm feet on a winter day and have snow melt off the equipment you're doing maintenance on
toasty toes! thinking about it
That's cement is going to be nice! Always enjoy watching!
We're looking forward to it for sure :)
Awesome job Spencer. Cant wait to see the next video!
Woot! Big thanks and good hearing from ya
Can you 'float' the bucket for back blading on that Chinese machine? May not be the best but it sure is handy when you choose between a shovel and it!!
He does that at 7:25
@@ryanlangan1060 Doesn't look like it. Looks to be under power just in one place, not the same as floating, which evens out the ground more rather than fixed which just reproduces the ups and downs the front wheels are experiencing.
No true float on the bucket, gotta adjust by hand as you go. So it's not perfect and I end up raking some hahaa
You two are doing great and getting a lot done before winter sets in.
thanks man ... working on it
Your barn is turning out awesome Spencer..you officially making this guy jealous lol
Little bit at a time and it's coming together :)
You two are killing it!
Trying to beat the snow :)
Coming along nicely
Thanks man. it's been fun out there
GOALS!!! Starting our journey this Spring, can't wait to see the 1st unit show up!
Cool to hear ... good luck with it! I wanna see pics
Love it. So glad u are sharing this!
Great to hear ... it's been a fun and interesting build so far
thanks love your show have fun
great seeing you pop around through various videos on the channel. :)
Hindsight is 20/20. You should’ve bought those concrete mesh panels a year ago. I “used” to buy the $150’ rolls to use for apple tree cages for $109. Now they’re $368 a roll. Ouch.
Oh boy, no kidding! Those panels ended up being $14 each ... nutty prices these days
You could make a nice climbing wall on the back wall 😁
oh you know it! :) on my mind
I can't believe I missed one, lol. I'm glad to see the ground crew decided to show up. Y'all work do well together (at least on video 🤣). And just so you know, I never lost my cousin's front teeth with a skid steer. I just hit him with my 67 Ford pickup. Anywho, y'all take care and YHVH bless.
Gotta preserve those front teeth if possible! :) Thanks for checking it out man. It's been fun out there
Glue that conduit together then send a pull wire through with a vacuum. Attach your cable and pull. Easy peasy.
I've heard about that vacuum trick! Gotta try it next time
@@metaspencer it looks like you installed Romex in the pipe underground. The reason that does not meet code is because it is not rated for wet locations that Romex will fail soon. Hopefully no one gets hurt. When you replace it, use individual conductors like “THHW” or type UF cable.
@wittelkenneth interesting! Time will tell I guess
@wittelkenneth compressed aluminum conductor and XLPE insulation … more juice than lil old Romex cooks
Next time you have an open trench and are laying casing for any infrastructure, try attaching an insulated solid core "location wire," taped along the outside of your casing. The wire can poke up along side your riser, taped along it and folded over. If and when you need to excavate and locate your infrastructure, you can attach a transmitter to the location wire, and mark along the signal with marking chalk spray paint, or just use those funny looking little plastic flags, just stick them everywhere along where the receiver beeps. That's not how I do it, though, that's just how the professionals do it.
EDIT: heating a room or house with hot water is called "hydronic heating" and it's more used in Europe than in the USA, which is probably why you haven't heard of it. They have all kinds of decorative heat emitters that are available to hook into a hydronic system, for example a popular configuration is a hydronic towel rack that goes in a bathroom and heats the room at the same time as drying the towel. Also very popular are baseboard emitters, that don't have to go under the floor, but the tradional "classic" hydronic heating system is a bunch of looped tubing under a wood floor, that gently warms the room with warm water that circulates through the under floor system. And I know of at least one person who simply used a conventional tank style natural gas water heater as a heat source for an under the floor hydronic heating system for a large room in a house in the Mid-West. It's supposed to be very efficient, more efficient than forced air. If you look up hydronic heating online you should be able to find a good number of suppliers that can provide emitters and thermisters and all that malarky.
Thanks for the content.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for all the info man. I love your idea of making the conduit/wire findable in the future: beats digging it up or not digging at all in fear. Great idea. I've been reading more about the heat system and have been sourcing components slowly ... I hope it works out!
Awesome project cant wait to see the concrete pour
Thanks man. Good hearing from ya!
I wood definitely put water lines under the concrete for heated floors. Especially if your gonna use a water heater. Look into it. If you ever get sick of the wood boiler, you can switch to a propane boiler.
cool ideas ... thanks for that thought!
Looking good. Will you also cut man doors on the inside so you can get into the containers also?
That's the plan ... some windows and doors and all that. Those big container doors get old after a while (hard to open) :)
Caution tape over power and water lines so you don’t cut when digging in the future!
Good point! The red tape
After what I have seen from odells complete concrete and others, they cut lines in the concrete to control cracking. Because most will crack? Dont know if it would be smart to do a controlled cut by the door? Just a thought. Just found your channel :-)
I'm gonna talk with The King (my concrete guy) about some controlled cuts, because I've always seen unpredictable cracks. Thanks for that reminder!
I’ve done that, it works way better with larger wire.
Larger wire! Oh well, too late to change it now
@@metaspencer sliding the conduit over the wire works good on wire like that lol
not larger wire
Absolutely
How much was your box barn? Awesome set up!!
How much monies? I didn’t keep track of… bought what I could over 2 years
Ahh, the almost fully automated compactor :-) Shame the steering was broken so it couldn't turn ;-)
Cool, I actually haven't seen one run before and need to get mine going in the coming weeks so it was just nice to see yours in action thanks Spence.
Looks like the yellow beast is performing well too which is great to see.
Looking forward to seeing the concrete pour, wood water heater and the walls going up. Plenty of projects going on but looking good mate.
Cheers. Dunk.
The compactor can babysit itself for a little while :) I got it second hand and it just needed a new sparkplug and fuel cap to get running ... you'll enjoy the COMPACTED results of the machine. Take care
It good job bro
Thanks man!
"floss their cousins teeth with a skid steer" howling with laughter over here dude
hahaha! I don't know where that one came from but it's oddly easy to visualize
Howdy from Chad's channel. New sub here. 🖐😃
Thanks for coming on over! It's been cool to dig around on his channel and see all that they're up to :)
@@metaspencer he's a good cookie 👍
flossing their cousin's front teeth.. hahahaha that's a good one. nice vid as usual thanks spencer
Cousins need flossin' sometimes :)
I would turn 2 bedroom and kitchen and living room in the middle , ❤
That would be excellent! I see what you mean ... could even have an upstairs
Why didn't you duct tape the conduit so you send down more. Pipe vto the power
Would have been a good idea! next time
@@metaspencer just make it faster the conduit any fasteners and less wear and tear on the Mrs
Absolutely
Did you forget diggers hot line lol
It's kind of funny: I called to have everything marked but the internet cable (fiber) was untraceable. The company told me to "try to avoid it" and if I hit it they'd replace. So I hit it, of course
@@metaspencer well I guess it wasn't detectable and that's all you did wasn't bad I remember a few years ago we were digging for a project at work and they had everything marked off and we caught the main power lines going into the building fortunately all he did is take a little insulation off the wiring
The main!! That’s freaky … got lucky
Привет из России😊 👍
Спасибо за просмотр видео!
Prolly too late, but some pex lines in the shop floor for heating would be sweet.
Yeah good point! I think I’ll do a simple radiator system but we’ll see
👏👏👍🇧🇷
👍😀
👏👏👍🇧🇷
Thanks for checking it out man! Obrigado por conferir cara!
