Counting reel cranks is most understandable and fastest in such videos. I liked your talk. I also think that a lot of people get stuck in BFS terms and think that something is the only right thing. The world is much bigger than your local pond.
When it comes it bfs reels, I totally like using IPT for estimate since the average between an empty spool and maxed out spool is not far apart. Plus we are using thin lines, so it works really well. I used to measure, but it gets tedious and let's face it... Bfs isn't about the long distance. Accurate casting at reasonable distances is what we all desire.
And yes... Some ppl go crazy with the term BFS. To me it's just tackle... But to some.. It's a style... And they get crazy offended if you don't finesse fish with it lol...
Good looking reel and seemed to preform well too! Awesome video
Thx! It's not bad, wished my line didn't snap so I could do more heavier casting! Next time I guess
Great review! I'm new to BFS and started with a KastKing Zephyr then bought an Abu Garcia Revo UltraCast BF8. I'm really liking the Salamandura because I mostly use 4# mono leader and Verivas PE 0.8, seems like a good match. BFE has it in stock so I just might have to pull the trigger! Thanks for posting!
Sweet! That reel is selling out lol
That' seems to be definitely a good combo. Casts they light lures well. 😄👍
It's pretty impressive given the spool weight. Daiwa definitely did a good one for the bfs community
Nice video! Thanks for the review and test. I was actually impressed with it. Thanks for continuing to share! #raWrFishing rocks!
Thx man! It is a great reel so far and I wanna see what else I can do with this baddy
Enjoy ur vids.. time flys! Mini Jimbo is growing quick. Good to see kids doing outdoor things
Thx mate! Yeah kaiden is gonna be a bfs master by 5 lol... Maybe...
Nice video my friend. Favorite part was when your kid pulled in that bass 👌👌👌 also surprised that it casts so light 👍
My favorite part was he said he had to pee lol. Yes it's surprisingly good! Good work Daiwa
@@rawrfishing lol yea that was pretty funny… gotta go when nature calls haha. good work indeed 👌🙌🙌🙌
I should have kept the part where he asks if he can pee here at the pond lol
@@rawrfishing 😂😂😂 bust out a water bottle lol
Nah we went by the tree lol
I wonder if there is sharp edge on the T-wing or in the spool area damaging the braid. Thanks for the cast testing review. Very informative outro. BFS isn't just about casting trout magnets 🤣
Only one way to find out! Using higher end braid for the next session that is similar in diameter. Seems like it's close to 0.8 gou Varivas line when comparing side to side. I tried 0.6 and it seems like that is smaller than the 6lb destron. So we will see next time out!
I got that same reel an honestly is a pretty good BFS reel 🔥
it was very surprising! I am assuming i could cast further with the pencil, but given with all that line snaps, i didn't wanna throw any harder. I think the micro bearings also made it though to throw heavy lures far, but bfs is all about short ranges right?
When will BaitFinesseEmpire will be getting this reel in?
From what I know, they are in route. So hopefully very soon!
good boy😊
👍
Im wondering if I got an aftermarket spool (like Chameleon) and put it on a tatula SV or 80, would it essentially work as well as a Alpha Air or Salamandura for 2-4gm lures?
Check out my other videos. I have installed the Roro TX25S Spool on this reel. I can cast half a gram easily. 2 to 4 gram is doable stock spool already as portrayed
Is the Dragon UL a two piece rod? Just curious
Two piece
@rawrfishing what type of line are you using in that reel?
Likely Varivas 4 PE 0.6. If it's multi color, that is what it was. Should have stated in the beginning of the video along with the amount of feet
@@rawrfishing thanks appreciate your answer ..
Crazy question, can you make a right hand bait caster left handed
Not possible. Although this is a left hand retrieve reel.. It's made for right handed folks as the purpose is allow your dominant hand to hold the rod for control and allows your left hand to do the easy part... Reeling
Is that noise normal when casting ? I have the same reel and I just started noticing that scratchy sound
Most Daiwa reels are like that during the initial cast as the spool is spinning super fast and it creates vibrations. The spool cup couple also be trying to stay extended, causing extra vibrations.
Awesome ! Thank you so much for the reply, i was getting a little worried. @@rawrfishing
I'm new to bfs fishing. i bought a dobyns sierra ultra finesse casting 700c rod. also a kistler hunt bfs 3x-ultra-lite 6'8" rod. i have the curado bfs xg reel. I want a second bfs reel. What would u suggest?
Since u got the curado, you will want one that Will go lighter
I say the Daiwa Alphas air tw or the Gekkabijin air tw would be my recommended reel as Yen is down
@@rawrfishing Daiwa Alphas air tw which year?
@@rawrfishing do u think its better than the salamandura air tw?
alphas air tw is 2020. salamandura air tw is a larger/heavier spool than the alphas series. but it is also smaller than the curado.
i would say the alphas series is best for UL out of the box out of the three reel, then comes Salamandura air tw, then curado. so it really depends on what you are trying to fish with.
Thank you for the details. Now I’ll start the search for who has the Alphas in stock!
Love the color on that combo. Wonder if anyone makes a saltwater bfs 🤔
They do! This can be used in salt. I may start getting a few and perhaps we should go out for some inshore stuff
Daiwa Gekkabijin air tw
@@MrMalakalopoulos yes sir! That's one of em
@@rawrfishing Yeah man sounds good!
Did he say he wanna pee in Cantonese?
Yes he did lol
Stop buying trash line and get yourself some varivas pe
Watch more of my videos. I use Varivas all the time. This is a cast testing video and I am happy to use cheaper lines as I dispose em.
Bro please for the love of god count the cranks to yourself then let us know lol
Nah I'm counting it out loud for everyone... Else ppl will call me a liar
@@rawrfishing Sheesh
Can't please everyone, unfortunately
@@rawrfishing All good but you try and that’s all a man can really do!
oh trust me buddy! I have decided to go with this route because I am trying to please the Bait Finesse crowd :P
I subscribed your chanel can you suggest me stongest and light fishing rod
Major Craft Benkei L power rod seems very sturdy. Bone Fishing Voyage as well. you can see me battling big Barramundi with that rod last year. Tsurinoya Dragon is not bad for a budget rod.
