For the past few months I think God has been calling me to be a Catholic Priest, and I think he’s giving me Fr. Divid Micheal as an example on what it is going to look like.
I have never seen a priest who is so much happy with his life. You are great and example of priesthood for many those who like to join and serve. I too am priest but most of the time we are worried about our resours to run parish and our family. But still am happy that Lord chose me to serve His Altar and His people. From Fr. Asher Younas. As an outsider, all i can say is that because you have given up all the great possibilities to have a fruitful career, material success etc. to selflessly, willingly and totally give yourself to God and His church, you actually know how to love. I have no doubt.

I find these videos and your reflections to be extremely encouraging as we seek to live a life of faith in contemporary culture, called to be in the world but not of it, and as we seek to reflect Jesus’ presence to the world.
Warning: The millennial & Gen Z priests graduating seminary right now are especially conservative. I don't expect Fr David to be any different. Will have to watch a few more videos to see. [I've been a Priest 18 years this August and I have a problem with women priests for example, don't expect Fr David to be much different].

Thank you for sharing your time. I can say 5 rosaries some nights. The more I pray the better my prayers feel. My first communication I got a nice rosary from my grandfather. I lost it. So a few years later I was a 6th grader wanting a rosary. Too affraid to tell I had lost mine. So I went out in the fiel next to my brothers baseball field. I used large rocks some flat rocks were our fathers, the other Hail Mary. I made a cross with sticks. For winter I got smaller rocks from my grandma to go on my desk and prayed my rosaries. One day mom asked me what I was doing in the field. I told praying my rosary and I showed her. Well, a few days later my Aunt came to visit and gave me a rosary and I cried till my family I lost my rosary so I used rocks in the field and rocks on my desk in my bedroom. He didnt get made but I felt Joyful. Share my rock story. I should of told my mom Id lost the rosary right away. Enjoy your day Father Davi

Loved the video! I’ve been spending more time with family before I enter into the seminary in August, and I’ve been learning so much more about my parents. I sit and eat with my parents everyday with no electronic devices and it has been wonderful. But I do have a question: how did you discern the diocesan priesthood over religious priest? I’ve always been attracted to the diocesan priesthood and I am entering the seminary for the diocesan priesthood. But there was a recent day when I wonder if i properly discerned religious vs diocesan. I’ve always been attracted to the diocesan priesthood. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it kind of feels like the enemy is trying to have me second guess myself at times. Wondering if I made the right choice.
Awesome you're entering seminary! And great you get to spend more time with your family. It is certainly good be be open to whatever God's call is, so I would continue to pray about what God is asking and be open with your spiritual director about the thoughts you're having. I would be attentive to if there's a specific community you feel drawn to. That being said, it might make sense to continue on the path which it seems God has you on currently until you feel strongly enough about it to change. God bless!
Father David Michael Moses Thank you for your advice! I will definitely pray and reflect more on this. I’ve always thought about the diocesan priesthood and explored religious life briefly with a traditional Franciscan order (that prays the old divine office and lives on the traditional calendar). The friar that I met is a great man that lives a very simple and holy life. No use of personal electronic devices, very penitential living I would say. It was a good experience and I love living in community. I know how to pray the old office and the new office. But after living the religious life I still thought about the diocesan priesthood. I need to reflect on what are the reasons why I am drawn to the diocesan priesthood since I can’t give any reasons besides feeling comfortable and “peaceful”.
You stated the enemy is making you question your decision. That being said, would the enemy make you question the WRONG ONE? It seems your answer therein lies within the discernment itself.
Priesthood doesn't made you less human. It made you to become a real human instead. I guess Jesus also enjoyed His humanly nature with mother Mary whenever He's home; not doing sermon to the public or preaching around with His disciples. A little 'me time' with His mother.

My dad was a priest in Cleburne at St. John Vianney and now we are in South Carolina at St. Mary's in the Upstate.
