Introducing to Clean River Fishing, ALAN YATES who went on to be an English International, representing his country 15 times, twice winning gold medals.
As I understand it, Alan was not treated kindly for his fees back in those times. Nevertheless, his contributions to Clean River, stand as a testament to his talents and skills; in this programme, fishing from the shore.
The tackle may have moved on, but the techniques are as sensible and realistic as they were back then.
The difference is you can now watch it on your phone.. on the shore or boat!

I remember watching this on VHS as a 10 year old. Used to read everything Alan Yates wrote at Sea Angler. That anorak was so cool and i remember asking for one for Christmas. Interesting to see some significant developments in Sea Angling since 88? but still now with tapered leader, conti rods and grips not stolen from our tennis rackets the water craft standards are still to be followed. Thanks @cleanriverfishing for this trip down memory lane , Still learning from the Alan in 2024
