I have the same rider, i got it when my grandpa passed away, he bought it new in 1983 and bought every attachment he could find that would fit on it, so i have the dozzer blade, a rear mount drag blade, a front mount tiller, front mount snow blower, a 36" deck and a 48" deck, a rear grass catcher, and a matching dump trailer, and a leaf vac. have never had a problem out of it other then the original brass float had a rotted a hole in it,and the fuel line dryed out and cracked , they do not build tractors like this today! i did do a rear pulley swap cause the 5-6 mph top end was a little to slow so i went and got the pulley for a 5000 series that was only about 1-1/2"s bigger then the 4000 series but now it runs about 11-13 mph still not fast but much better then it was, was not looking at making it a racer just faster , also i dont think the 36" deck has been used but 2 times since 83 because he got the 48" that has the rollers across the hole back and it does some amazing stripping, think if anything ever goes wrong with mine i will fix or have it fixed because these older Simplicity tractors are built like tanks
That's awesome. I just got one myself. No real property to put such a beast to use. But I am all about the look, pride and power these are apparently known for.
You were really lucky to find one that nice. I love my 4211 and I mow circles abound my new Troy Built. I have found a guy with a 4211 Hydro I'm trying to get. I'm really wanting a 1959 or 1960 Simplicity Wonderboy. Not really for mowing but just something to play with. They are so cool with the stick steering. I talked to a guy that bought his 4211 new in 1984 and he's STILL mowing with it. All he's done was replace the belts and pulleys. These mowers will last. My New Troy Built is a P.O.S!!
I bought one brand new in 1984 for around $2000.00 , I am just now replacing the belt, the only other thing I replaced was the solid state distributor, (electric) and a few spark plugs. It's still in very good condition...
Amen to that! I actually have several 11 H.P. engine blocks and parts from tractors at the scrap yard. So even if it gives out, I can rebuild it. And yes, this thing is absolutely wonderful! Yu found another 4211? They're uncommon around me. Plenty of 4212's though!
I Just bought a simplicity 4108 (Or 4208, Or 4211... Not sure yet) that had a ceized engine, Swapped with a 16 HP engine. For only 200 and it comes with keys!!
I bought this tractor for $300. You WILL not beat a Simplicity mower. They are top notch and will mow forever. When the engine gives out, Simply replace it. You can no longer buy the original 11hp B&S engine but you can upgrade to a 13.5 briggs and your good to go. They will out mow many of today's tractors. If you buy a Simplicity you will never use anything else! You don't even need a new one as a used one will work just fine if it's been taken care of.
I purchased this same tractor about a month ago. I got the tractor, snow plow, and mower deck for $300 (plus free delivery). Question: Do you know where I can get chains for the FRONT wheels? I'm using it this winter to move firewood and I've found it doesn't want to turn in wet greasy snow. Thanks
Not really should be pretty easy just go on eBay and type in Simplicity 4211 Lawn Tractor and plenty should pop up. Good luck! If it's a certain part I have some laying around myself
Sweet dude! I just picked up a 4211. Sat in somebody's yard for a number of years. Installing a new carb in it this week and see how she goes!

You wouldn’t happen to know what size blades it takes or the belt #’s, would you?
I have had many different tractors and this was my favorite. My dad bought brand new in 1986 for $900 along with accessories.
Hello. I have the 4212. My deck belt just popped. What size deck belt does this tractor take? Can anyone answer that please
I got rid of mine 6 months ago, I am missing it!
