    As you know Mr. Flopper, the climber usually gets the glory and the ground crew is often overlooked. You are absolutely right about it being a team effort.
    With that being said..excellent work climber and crew, through watching you for some time now I am 100% convinced I must add a Grcs into my arsenal.
    You really do a great job 👏

      Haha thanks GP. You definitely will not regret it. This tree could have absolutely been conquered with a porta wrap, but it definitely would have taken longer and would have been way less cool 😅

    Great climbing video as per usual, but clean that lens! I kept wiping my eyes thinking it was me, but it seems like its an 80's Playboy spread with the Vaseline covered lens for soft focus! 😆

    Hay love your videos! Wanted to share something new with you ! We’ve all had problems with pine pitch gumming up our ropes and such, I’ve used dawn dish soap to clean my ropes and lanyards , it works ok but try plain old brake clean ! It just devolves it instantly! And I don’t see that it hurts my ropes at all ! Try it !

    • @zaccheus
      @zaccheus  11 місяців тому +2

      Thanks for the tip man! I tried it on my saws once and it worked great on the pitch, but it also started taking the paint off 😅 it's a pretty harsh solvent and of its strong enough to take paint off, I'd be concerned about it doing unseeable damage to my ropes on a molecular level.

    Big fan of hearing Bo mic'ed up. Gotta say I feel Al seems a little more competent than Bo though. Really loving the content with them and would love to hear a mic on Al. I'll hit that subscribe button if you start doing some post job interviews with them.

      Haha I'll see if they're up for it. Most of the time everyone is in a rush to get to job finished uo and get home to the wives 😅 on Bo's crew, Bo normally climbs and AL runs the rope. Bo knows the principles, but Al has the experience.

    That’s true, I know any good automotive paints it won’t harm , oil base , latex and so on I can’t say . I’m going to continue to use it but I think after using it on my climbing ropes I’ll rinse them with the pressure washer .

    Great video I really enjoy watching and learning from you! Quick question, your hand saw the Sugoi, have you tried a Zubat? Wanted to see if you like one over the other? I am about to buy one but torn, I like the longer handle, the hook and way the teeth start finer on the Sugoi but looks like different blade options for Zubat. Either way I am thinking of going with the 330 length in either. Was hoping to maybe get some feed back. Thanks in advance!

    • @zaccheus
      @zaccheus  Рік тому +1

      Ah, I wish I had more experience to offer you. I've only ever used the sugoi. I like the hook and the progressive teeth alot. I also like the size alot. I think most people prefer something smaller for the ease of stowage. I climb with min on my shin and have learned to deal with the annoyances of that. Doesn't mean it's the best solution though 😅

      Ohhh yes, or most commonly the rope gets caught on it at an inopportune time 😅 I still underestimate what nubs need cleaned up sometimes 🙄 it takes a good bit of time though if you flush out every single one on a big hard wood tree like that.

    • @zaccheus
      @zaccheus  Рік тому +1

      Way way back when I worked for an excavating contractor, we were moving equioment in to dig out around and existing house foundation. A near by pin oak had some big limbs drooping down in the way. I liked to climb things so they gave me the MS310 out of the service truck and used the excavator to lift me up into the tree. I climbed a littler higher, and found the limb I wanted to cut off. I knew nothing of professional tree work and so I just started cutting down from the top. I cut all the way through the limb and dropped the saw right on to my knee cap. Ruined my brand new pants and earned some stitches in my knee. That was the beginning of me understanding the value of PPE.

    Great video, again. I noticed you wear a wedding band, if it's not one of those rubber or other such easy break materials, I strongly suggest you not wear it while climbing unless you also wear gloves. I offer this advice supported by 22 years as a first responder, do with it what you will.

    • @zaccheus

      Thanks! It's rubber. Only wear the metal one for special occasions.
