If I could summarise this video in one sentence, that would be it.
I’m too paranoid to delete everything, but I do need a refresh. I’m going to clean my folder out with the CC Mod Manager while I watch this.
Before today, I'd usually just clean out my mods folder as I feel like that takes a lot less time, and you still get a refresh. I hope you enjoy cleaning your mods folder and watching the video!

You need to desactivate the pop-up Windows when you open the game. Its save lot of time for your computer to show up all the cc and its loads then very easily @@blackfootindian0

i ABSOLUTELY treat cc shopping like real shopping, and its soo fun. If i have a sim with a certain style, ill go cc shopping specifically for that sim, keeping their style in mind. Its so fun

I deleted all 93gb of my mods a couple days ago. I’m finally excited to play again bc I’m more intentional about my aesthetic and what I download now

I also wonder if you'll be doing any more CAS/CC mods showcases? If you are moving away from them, it would be cool seeing videos with an emphasis on a pack/kit you already have, either in CAS or in gameplay.
Would also love to see some Sims 3 content, but don’t want it turning into work and remove an outlet for you. I actually really enjoyed hearing your general commentary with the gameplay as a background.🌷
I'm planning for the next video I post to be a no-cc and base game CAS! I think it will be great practice for creating sims with minimal and no cc. I love the idea of giving makeovers to your sims! I did this years ago and really enjoyed it. I feel like it would be fun to stream it on Twitch if I have the time.
I haven't made a poll on the community tab for a while; I'll definitely start making them again.
I will probably still create CAS and mods showcases! Just not to the extent as before. I love sharing cc with you guys, and showcases are the best way to do that, so I don't want to stop making them entirely.

When I got my new laptop, I had to start from scratch, and I'm so glad I did because it made the whole experience of starting over with a new device to run ts4 all the more fun. Yes, those are absolute essentials. I'm looking forward to creating some new sims and sharing them with you guys!

I love the feeling of resetting my mods (i have a mac so the fresh storage makes my game run so smooth) but i hate giving all of my households makeovers with new cc 😫
The game does run so much smoother without so many mods and cc! It is so annoying to give all the sims a makeover, especially if you have a large save file haha.

Hey girlie, do you have any recommendations for save files to start a fresh legacy in? You've inspired me to come back from my own sims hiatus, wipe my cc folder and start fresh! But the save files i've played in in the past are a bit overdone. Know of any good/newer ones?
I haven't checked the save file landscape for quite a while, but two of my personal favourite save files are the MissSimReno save file, and the Littleroot save the file by Tinycowplant.

My game is broken because of my mods. I have deleted every broken mod, outdated mod, repaired the game, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and every other possible solution I could find online. (My game works without mods tho) I’m going to delete all my mods now. I’m scared 😅 my legacy is on the 2nd generation, Idk if I would cope with playing after finding new mods.. But uh, yeah I’m ready. I kinda want to make a new legacy anyway. This is the only way to fix my game. Yeah kinda annoyed, but I think making a new legacy save file will be fun, staying positive about it!! 😁

@@jordannnk sorry for late reply, but it’s going well, I have a bunch of new mods, better mods if I must say, and I always double check if the mods outdated before I download them now, I have a new legacy, I’m sort of on my 2nd generation. So my sims game is all good currently 👍
I have a special folder in my mods called [001] to put whatever I want to keep forever (missing plumbob was hard to find again). It makes it easier to clean everything else out

I wouldn't have reset my mods folder if it weren't for ending all my current households and let's plays for that exact reason! It would take so long to re-furnish all the houses along with giving sims their hair and clothing back. 😂
I was wondering if I might have to delete all of mine, I have no option to edit faces anymore or add skin details. I can just add makeup and do the hair😢
I had a similar thing happen to me but I just had to use the cas.fulleditmode cheat because CAS is restricted (including traits, body and skin details) in game as opposed to the main menu when you make a new Sim.
I'm really just assuming that you know nothing about the game because the only reason I didn't know is because I'm new to the Sims 4, so it may be a different situation for you. Really hoping you don't have to can your Mods folder!
There is probably a corrupt mod in your mods folder causing this! It would be a good idea to either comb through your folder and find which mods are broken/outdated or just do a complete reset.
When I first started using CC 9 years ago I had around 30GB between cas and bb stuff. I used to play on my mum's work pc and I still don't know how that potato pc could handle that. Now I have my own pc and it's pretty good but I keep my mods folder below 4GB max. I don't use bb cc anymore and I found myself using more and more in-game clothes, and I really like it. At least once a month I clean my mods folder using the mods manager app to delete stuff I don't really use. I still have an addiction to hair though. I have around 300 hair only for females 😂 also I use lots of mods to enhance my gameplay than I used to, most of them by adeepindigo, RPO, MCCC and ui cheats and littlemisssam for bug fixes.
I was the same when I began using cc! It's just so tempting to download every single piece haha. Having a mods folder under 4GB is such a good idea. I'm the same with the hairstyles; the issue is that a hairstyle can completely change a sim, and I usually use one hair only for a single sim because it becomes special to them. For this reason, I end up downloading a ton of hair so that my sims can have a ton of options to pick from. Littlemisssam is a saviour when it comes to bug fixes!
there is a mod called "no ea shine" that removes the shine in their eyes!

The only reason I haven't done this on my desktop is because I have so much cc that I love that has since been deleted and can't be downloaded again, and I've been procrastinating going through it 😅
That's such a fair reason! The procrastination is real when it comes to cc organisation haha.
I went into the game and grabbed my essentials and then completely deleted everything and completely switched to maxis match cc❤😂
Watching this video, I’ve decided to delete all 8,743 of my cc. My game is broken so I guess it’s a good thing, hopefully I can find all the stuff I still wanted, I already have all of my favorite creators either followed or written down in a note book, wish me luck I guess

Oh no! Maybe you could try being more picky with what cc you choose to download? I will say that it does take a while to find the type of aesthetic you like for your cc. When I started downloading cc, it didn't match, and it took me about a month or two to find my style.

I still feel like I need to download some more but that's just for diversity's sake since I make so many Sims but I feel like I'm going in the right direction

I play with minimal cc quite often, and I couldn't recommend it more! The game feels so much more enjoyable when you only have mods and cc you really love.

Hello !!! So I’m a new sims 4 player and I want some base game tips
There really isn’t much to the base game.. if I’m being honest
But what exactly are you wanting to know?
If you can, I recommend going into full storyteller mode. Sadly, the base game doesn't have much to it, so you have to rely on your imagination to create interesting gameplay, scenarios, etc. I'd recommend creating a sim, imaging/writing a story for them, and then playing it out. For example, you could create a runaway teen and their fresh start in Oasis Springs.
If you can, I'd recommend downloading a couple gameplay mods, as they add so much to the game at no cost. CC is great as well because you can get more options when it comes to creating your sims; that way, you feel more connected to them.
I have a couple of videos on how to make ts4 fun without mods, along with gameplay tips. clothing is always my fav cc and hair but has to be alpha for me i adore s-club on sims resorce.
When I used to use alpha cc, I always downloaded from s-club; they are very talented.
72GB of mods/ cc 🤭 I don't have all of the packs so it's a good alternative for me, although my MacBook sounds like it's going to take off ✈🤣
I don't blame you at all! Mods and CC are the perfect alternative for packs and other DLC for the game. My PC also sounds like it's about to take off too haha!

With that much cc, I don't blame you at all! Maybe you could clean your mods folder instead of restarting the whole thing? That way you get to keep most of it whilst getting rid of the cc you don't want/use.
