If you're spending 40 dollars for a weeks worth of food for a whole family, you probably aren't living in a sunlit single family home with a yard, or a well windowed penthouse. There's a fair chance your in a small apartment, with small windows, and no yard. You may also be at the basement level, where all of the natural light is shaded by other buildings and the sidewalk.
@@spacecaptain9188They will still grown in any window ledge! I live with little sunlight, but they don't need much. I just stick them in a glass of water and they grow very well! If you don't have any windows at all, a small grow bulb is pretty cheap, too.

There is no way I could of gotten this at $40 I played $109 here the pork shoulder was 22.59 alone and chicken was $16 almost 40 for just those 2 items but I followed it to a tee and I'm still happy for how much I could make even for that price
I bought green onions 3 weeks ago, cut off the tops and put them in just enough water to cover the bulbs. I may not need to buy green onions again for months! Those suckers grow like crazy. I just keep cutting the tops off.
I did that a couple years ago, except I planted then in some good soul and those things got so massive I was amazed how long they lasted! I'll def do again this year!
I always told myself I would buy the best ingredients my budget could afford. That's still true, for now. My job hangs on by a thread right now and I worry about feeding my family of 4. Very great ideas, especially if you are on a budget. Thank you. Very inspiring.
Please keep doing budget videos! With food costs rising, and the keto lifestyle not being cheap to begin with, it's hard to feed our family of 6 (two adults, 2 teenage boys, two teenage girls) for a reasonable cost. We are new at this (only a couple if months), so all of your ideas are so valuable to us!!!
This is AMAZING. It's healthy but stuff my family would actually EAT! Stuff I could take to work! My family is smaller so it would stretch further! Thank you so much for this, you have no idea how much it helps. 💜
A tip for cheaper chaffles- I use the “white bread chaffle” recipe and it doesn’t use any cheese! It’s egg almond flour baking powder and mayo (I also add garlic salt). I usually triple the recipe and try to make like 10 at a time. Then I do all open face sandwiches aka only use one chaffle for each sandwich. I use a piece of sliced cheese on top of the ingredients (deli meat, spinach, etc) to help hold it together for eating.
@@YeshuaKingMessiah Hi I think a basic recipe is something like: 1 egg plus half cup of grated cheese so we could try a quarter cup of both almond flour and mayo (maybe slightly more almond flour...?). Add a pinch baking Powder. That would surely get us started... Yeshua also my King😀. Best regards. Georgina, Ireland
@@YeshuaKingMessiah Hi I'm just eating two white bread waffels. I am thrilled with them! I can't mix almond flour and dairy in same meal so these are games changing for me! Praise God! I did 1 egg (large). Then I took a half cup measure, put almond flour into it up to three quarters and filled the rest up with mayo (even if it went slightly over) and a good pinch Baking Powder. I mixed it with a fork. It was a bit thick and stiff so I poured in a careful half tablespoon (I think!). Was happy with a thick but portable consistency. They are soft and yummy! Sorry, long text. I do hope this is a help. 🤗 G Ire
I would absolutely love to see a series of videos like this. I've been keto for 4.5 years and I love to watch those extreme budget meal plan videos that are all over youtube. But none of them are keto so I can't use them myself but I still love watching them anyway. They are fun and addicting 🙂
I love your recipes but I am a person of one to feed so I don't need to cook up so much food at one time is there a way you can show me how to cut it in portions I know you can freeze it but I don't like to eat refrozen food please help 😊
So glad to see this post! Yes, Keto can cost, but I'm finding my food bill is actually smaller because I'm NOT buying all the crap food like chips, ice cream, donuts and soda pop, and feeling so much better for it!
I wish you could talk reason to my mate. Thats all he buys: milk, cereal, chips, canned soups, snacks, sodas, ramen, ice cream. He's not low carb and is a skinny rail on that junk. But he'll eat my food too. Its not fair that he trades money for convenience, and I trade time for savings and he benefits either way while I have limited options. He doesn't think the egg prices are a big deal cuz he doesn't actually cook with eggs. Two of my eggs cost more than his 20 cent packet of ramen! But carbs are more filling , says him.
With the price of food going out of control, this video is super relevant. I used to make these egg cups all the time, great staple.looking back at this reminds me I need to start some more lettuce and bok choi seeds to help supplement the grocery budget. The seeds I started back in November are still feeding me come January , and saving the green onion roots to regrow provided me multiple bunches worth of green onion tops to cook with for almost a year! I needed to be reminded by this vid that prepping and frugality is useful at times when you have little choice and shelves are empty.
meal planning is a whole skillset unto itself, as it budgeting, so feel like you are giving us a 3 in one package here - thank you! you have mad skills! appreciate all your work & sharing this with us
I agree with the suggestion that people struggling to buy groceries, please source local assistance. If you're in a small community, most larger towns will still make their services available to you. This is a great video! Ps: save the fat from the pork with which to fry the leftover pulled pork. That's part of the amazing taste of carnitas. I use chaffles to make the tacos.
I picked up food for a homeless dude. Most of the food was carb and shelf stable starch. I did see a can of chicken breast, some peanut butter, and a canned ham. But mostly pasta, potato flakes, canned applesauce with sugar, canned beans, I think there was milk powder. I know beggers can't be choosers, but I felt bad that if this guy were diabetic and insulin price was also too high, he had no choice but to starve or ruin his health.
Gasoline at the pump in Canada🇨🇦$9.00/ gal. Our food is 🇺🇸imported mostly from 🇺🇸California…and the dollar has a 40% exchange rate on top of that…. We pay through the roof for food!🇨🇦
I just made the chaffle the 1st time this morning and it came out so good. I used shredded parmesan cheese instead of mozarella. This will be my new go-to when I want to make sandwiches or have another "bread" sub
This is amazing! Thank you so, so much! I have been resisting returning to keto purely down to the expense but I know I have to as it helps my medical conditions, weight and mental health. Now I’m all set to get down to it again. You are a lifesaver (literally)!
I appreciate that but in the U.K. it’s much cheaper to eat high carb fillers like potatoes, beans, rice and cereals. Meat, cheese and cream/fats are more costly here.

I love keto budget videos. Sometimes people shy away from a healthier lifestyle fearing it would be expensive. These choices are a million times better than wonder bread, boxed sugary cereals and Mac and cheese.
Thank you for the great ideas! I'll try some of sell but the egg heavy, I'm allergic, it stinks for keto! Lol. Fresh cauliflower may be cheaper where you live, here it's around $3.50 to $4.00 a head. I buy it frozen and already riced for around $1.00 a bag, there's about 3 servings in a bag. Saves me time and money.
Loved your video - I'm alone and retired, but I will definitely be incorporating some of these, if not all, of these ideas. Thanks for all your hard work.
Love all your ideas and recipes. I also liked that you truly did only use the items you bought even sticking w just salt and pepper. You even resisted putting bbq sauce on that pulled pork. I really appreciate you briefly mentioning where people can go if they don’t have enough food. A lot of times when I see budget hauls and/or budget menus, too many times it’s no where near a tight budget, they come off as elitists (like in one video where expensive shrimp was bought) not realizing what an extreme type budget some of us are on. Anyway, I applaud you, amazing video! Ty!
Thank you! Many times I’ve been on extremely low food budgets and my parents raised us off of a bare bones income. I learn how to get creative in the kitchen from my mom - who can always make simple ingredients taste amazing. 😊

Absolutely good advice. Here in Australia, your groceries would cost nearer A$85 so I’ll factor that in. I’ll do a cook then freeze the meals and snacks. Will help me stay on keto. Thank you for sharing this information with us

Family of 4 eating out costs only $40.00??
There is no way I could of gotten this at $40 I played $109 here the pork shoulder was 22.59 alone and chicken was $16 almost 40 for just those 2 items but I followed it to a tee and I'm still happy for how much I could make even for that price

thank you for summarizing!
I bought green onions 3 weeks ago, cut off the tops and put them in just enough water to cover the bulbs. I may not need to buy green onions again for months! Those suckers grow like crazy. I just keep cutting the tops off.
Nice Idea 💡
I did that a couple years ago, except I planted then in some good soul and those things got so massive I was amazed how long they lasted! I'll def do again this year!
thank you for this tip!
Also Plain Greek Yogurt works well for mayo replacement
I always told myself I would buy the best ingredients my budget could afford. That's still true, for now. My job hangs on by a thread right now and I worry about feeding my family of 4. Very great ideas, especially if you are on a budget. Thank you. Very inspiring.
Hope things worked out for you job-wise, Krista. G Ire
Hope all goes best for you and your 👪 family
Thank you for helping people be able to afford keto😊
Please keep doing budget videos! With food costs rising, and the keto lifestyle not being cheap to begin with, it's hard to feed our family of 6 (two adults, 2 teenage boys, two teenage girls) for a reasonable cost. We are new at this (only a couple if months), so all of your ideas are so valuable to us!!!
One can of green beans…. Fifty cents🇺🇸⁉
No way in Canada🇨🇦Try $1.29 to $1.49‼
This video was perfection! Don’t know how you work, be a mom, plan and create these yummy meals, but very impressed! Thank you for the inspiration!
This is AMAZING. It's healthy but stuff my family would actually EAT! Stuff I could take to work! My family is smaller so it would stretch further! Thank you so much for this, you have no idea how much it helps. 💜
My mother and I have managed to stay on the diet with an Aldi budget but this is some next level cost effective Keto. 👍
Thank you so much I really enjoyed this video
I was thinking Aldi as well!
I'm pretty new to Aldi but so far I'm loving it!
Pls give the white bread chaffle recipe
TY!
Could you give the amounts, Nicole? I'm interested in trying your version. G Ire
Ditto 🙂
🤗 G Ire
So many great ideas. Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to try some.
Thank you!
Thanks a lot for sharing cool ideas💡
I would absolutely love to see a series of videos like this. I've been keto for 4.5 years and I love to watch those extreme budget meal plan videos that are all over youtube. But none of them are keto so I can't use them myself but I still love watching them anyway. They are fun and addicting 🙂
Great! I’ll come up with some more!
How much weight gave you loss?
@@1shaymocha when I first started I lost 40 pounds but I've maintained for the past 4 years.
I love your recipes but I am a person of one to feed so I don't need to cook up so much food at one time is there a way you can show me how to cut it in portions I know you can freeze it but I don't like to eat refrozen food please help 😊
@@annabellahayes3227 if you won't pull from the freezer, there's not a whole lot to tell you other than cook a meal at a time. 🤷♀️
@@Metqamake him buy half of your stuff! He is eating too hahah!
I needed to be reminded by this vid that prepping and frugality is useful at times when you have little choice and shelves are empty.
meal planning is a whole skillset unto itself, as it budgeting, so feel like you are giving us a 3 in one package here - thank you! you have mad skills! appreciate all your work & sharing this with us
❤️ it all, extremely motivating! I’m all in for the $40 grocery trip weekly! More please, and thank you
I will! I have it on the calendar already 😀
Just starting Keto. Glad to see this and know it doesn't have to be expensive.
They don’t have meat or cheese lol
Maybe hotdogs
Rare they have produce or even eggs
Us poor folks are not stupid. Telling us to "ask for help" is extremely patronizing. You think we've never thought of that? 😑
@@YeshuaKingMessiah I’ve never seen anything keto approved at a food bank. Lots of cereal, box of Mac and cheese, etc.
Thank you! Seriously. Truly am greatful for finding your channel
The world needs more vids like this to balance the 'just eat more prime rib' brigade and counter the 'it's too expensive' excusers. Thank you
Yes! I love to invest in good quality food but sometimes our budget is tight and we got bills to pay. 💵
@Violett Fem many vloggers are out of touch with reality
84 meals would feed two people for two weeks. This works great because my sister and I are always trying to save money.
Thank you for all these great ideas! I would love to see more videos like these! I really need to learn how to meal prep AND budget my grocery bill!
Wow! I can hardly wait to do this! Everything looks delicious! Thank you for sharing!
It would cost $60+ today. I could not believe the prices you were giving from January 2021! to think prices have gone up by that much....astonishing.

As of 2022, inflation has hit the family budget hard. These videos really help! Some of your ideas are the solutions that I can appreciate.
Ohmygoodness I ordered a waffle iron today. I Want to learn how to make chaffles for everything ❤️
This is amazing! Thank you so, so much! I have been resisting returning to keto purely down to the expense but I know I have to as it helps my medical conditions, weight and mental health. Now I’m all set to get down to it again. You are a lifesaver (literally)!
Keto can potentially be way less expensive than the standard American diet. You no longer need to buy any "products". Just real food.
I appreciate that but in the U.K. it’s much cheaper to eat high carb fillers like potatoes, beans, rice and cereals. Meat, cheese and cream/fats are more costly here.
*Your video provides valuable tips and ideas that will undoubtedly help many people make keto-friendly choices without compromising their finances. Thank you for sharing these budget-friendly meal ideas!*
I liked your message about helping people. Your channel is really great. Common sense, fast paced and great recipes. thank you

So many terrific ideas here! FYI… you can easily make your own Mayo with oil, egg, & vinegar. Also … cauliflower leaves are perfectly edible! Cook like any green or shred and make into coleslaw to top that pulled pork sandwich 😍
Love cauliflower leaves, they actually make delicious saurkraut.
This is awesome! I used this for meal prep tonight and will enjoy having great meals all week! I live alone so this was too much food, but freezing the extra chicken and pork plus tweeking recipe size. I work 13 HR shifts as a nurse, three to four days in a row, so this is awesome to do ahead. I've been surviving on work days eating weird crap like commercial jerky and cheese sticks... Please do this again!! Thanks so much!!
Thank you, Tisha, for your service and sacrifice during COVID. You are a true hero! 🙏🏽
Hardboiled eggs are very easy too
Quarter them, s&p and then dip in mustard or mayo
Egg salad
Sprinkle w/salt and eat whole
Deviled eggs if u wrap in plastic wrap to tote with u
Canned tuna, salmon, sardines are all way better than jerky or beef sticks too
Nuts & seeds - make Crispy Nuts!
Cubes of good cheese u cut up and tote
I love this so much. This is so inspirational and exactly what I've been looking for to help me have a week's worth of meals with variaty
Thank you so much ! With prices so high now this is VERY helpful.❤️ I would definitely like to see more videos like this. And thank you again. You are awesome 🙂
I am just new to this, 3 months of googling what to eat. I am so pleased your channel came up. Thank you so much
I think this is the best food and keto video. Thanks for doing it. We are blessed. I came away with valuable knowledge.
Yes, please do some more of these.
recently diagnosed with type 2 so been trying to find recipes I can cook on my limited skills. I might even be able to manage some of these. I've subscribed as you don't use weird ingredients I'd waste money on buying.

I live your screen presence and narration. I'm not on keto but my friend is. Also, I love budget meals!!
How bout a Cuban chaffle...pulled pork, ham&shot of mustard...yum!

I have some pulled pork left over from carnitas I made so now I have something to make with it. Thanks for the suggestion!
That sounds amazing

I love keto budget videos. Sometimes people shy away from a healthier lifestyle fearing it would be expensive. These choices are a million times better than wonder bread, boxed sugary cereals and Mac and cheese.
Thank you for the great ideas! I'll try some of sell but the egg heavy, I'm allergic, it stinks for keto! Lol. Fresh cauliflower may be cheaper where you live, here it's around $3.50 to $4.00 a head. I buy it frozen and already riced for around $1.00 a bag, there's about 3 servings in a bag. Saves me time and money.
Try NAET treatment, it cures allergies and saved my life. 🥰
Thank you. This is a great video. I was a little doubtful about making this work for a family of 4 for 40 dollars. But, you did a great job with this.
@@KetoFocus I appreciate that not only do you still with keeping budget low, but you also still keep meals generally healthy rather than just meals that are fully processed garbage.

Thanks so much sunshine. I'm new to Keto and have been doing Intermittent Fasting along with Keto. When I purchased about a pound of almond flour @ a bulk barn, it was shy of $10. EEEK LOL. However, THANKS to your video, you're offering us a low budget way to help us get started.💚 It takes the stress off of us to not get overwhelmed with the new way of eating and rushing out buying more pricier options if it leads us to not even start. The Key is low carbs, perhaps between 20 - 30 grams per day, definitely No sugars (other healthy alternatives), definitely Nothing with white flour, using healthy oils, etc. I'm 1 person but can adapt portions to what you have shown us. Inspiration is much needed and you've done that here. Thanks so very much. 🌞💚
I've better understand 'chaffles' now and found myself another bread(carb) substitute. 💕
My husband and I had some unexpected expenses come up this month, so I found this video at the perfect time. We're both doing Keto for health reasons and weight loss, and I was worried about food shopping this month. Groceries have gone up a lot since you made this video, but you really opened my eyes to how frugal Keto can be. Meal prep and staying away from all the premade Keto snacks and things are the key. Thank you!
I love your videos! Could you make or show the list at the beginning or end? It will be beneficial to do a screenshot & have it handy.
You have GREAT content!!! I loveeee your style in delivering info in a down to earth way but also giving quality helpful info
Thanks for taking time to make these videos for budget-conscious folks like me. I'm just starting Keto and this is a huge help!
Wonderful! I’m glad you found the video helpful. I will come out with more
I agree with Colleen, PLEASE do more of these. Planning meals for just me for the week is so challenging and I am approaching retirement and will need to be very budget conscious.
Thank you so much. The recipes look good. Your planning and budgeting is very impressive. ❤️❤️❤️😊
Thanks Cheryl! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Please do more videos like this one! I see so many grocery hauls, but none that actually make dishes with what they buy. Thank you for this!
These are such great ideas using regular ingredients I think I'll try them all! Great video thank you very much!
I only buy organic & fresh, so that triples the budget, but still not bad for a whole family eating for a week.
I am very impressed with meal prep and food haul. One thing I always do, is before cooking meat in crock pot or instant pot I sear the meat to add more flavor to the final product. But you kick the whole meal prep out of the ball park !!! WTG.
Great point!
Im going to try this! Although the eggs will cost about $30 now vs 7. (2023 in california...about $6-7 per dozen here right now)
I really really appreciate this budget presentation. I live on social security and am always looking for economic meals. I do not own a waffle maker (yet!) but what a wonderful idea for their varied uses ! Again, many thanks and please do some more budget-friendly recipes :)
this is by far, the best keto recipe video I have seen on youtube. So many use silly ingredients that are far to expensive. then you get 3 mins of adverts and just a few recipes that are way too pretentious for my kitchen. This is such a good video that I have saved to watch again. thank you.
I loved the week meal prep. Excellent savings.
Thank you for getting practical. Budgets are very important for people on fixed income after retirement
Can hardly wait to try this first time I tried keto was extremely hard for me but you make it look so easy with these nice recipes although I don't need eggs so I'll have to use a substitute for that protein thank you so much for these
I haven't watched this yet, but am happy to see this. I am a disabled senior on a fixed income and unable to work even a part-time job to supplement my income, as much as I want to (and need to). Grocery prices are soaring, so I won't expect the $40 cost from a year ago, but I look forward to learning from you on how to eat the keto way on a low budget. Thx from Washington state!

This was awesome especially since my family lives off Walmart groceries but I’ve been meal planning a month at a time and we pick up groceries 1-2x/month because we live in a rural area. This video gave me some great ideas for April! Thank you so much. If I can keep this theme I can cut our budget by 2/3rds! 👍🏻I’m going to try! My family needs to eat healthier foods for sure. I love to batch cook as well so this inspires me to get back to it! 😁I’m also less afraid to cook Keto for my family (I’m tired of cooking a main dish then all their unhealthy sides) and it’s a budget-buster habit for sure as well as a draw on my sanity. This should help!
Glad you liked the video! I plan on coming out with more like this.
