I just love when you experiment! It opens up possibilities for everyone . The fact that you just try things because you feel like it Makes your channel special and not boring :-) Don’t worry about how long it takes or how chaotic you sometimes think you are. . I’m learning a lot and especially about taking risks and “coloring outside the lines”
Awww!!! That's the exact audience that I want to be friends with and attract! You described something that was always at the tip of my tongue but I could never put a name on it - and that's “coloring outside the lines”. I LOVE THIS! This is so me!! That is exactly how I see art! And I am so happy that you connected to the energy that I am trying to capture here on my channel! This makes me so happy! Thank you so much for being so sweet!! And so thoughtful! Thank you for encouraging me. I really really appreciate ❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰
Im sooo sad...im pushing 80 and wont be able to follow your artistic evolution over the years...well...thats life....and i fed your algorithm at least...happy creating...and enjoy the evolution...and i love this piece
Thank you so much!!! I’m so glad that now I know how to set that bail. The video is way too long. I will do the next one with just instructions I get carried away. 🤣🤣
I really enjoy your videos! You're hilarious and very entertaining 😊. Thank you for being authentically you! Also, I relate to your creative thought process and way you see things. Keep making videos for us to learn from🙏
Haha! I am a weirdo so it was bothering me and looked to DYI like it wasn’t too magical :) if you could see it because it would hint to how it was made you know? Lol I am glad you liked the tip! ♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰
I just found your videos and I’m so excited!! Nobody else explains it like you do!! I learned so much just from 2 of your videos! This one was great! I love the pendant and the floral was the best choice even though the others would have been pretty as well. Your hats are magnificent also!! You do beautiful work and I’m enjoying your videos!!
That makes me so so happy!! ♥️♥️♥️ Your sweet comment and kind words motivate me to keep posting new videos. I appreciate you very much 💓💕 hugs! Eugenia 💕💕☺️☺️
I love it and your random way of creating! I made almost the sam pendant as my first piece but added an Amethyst. I have seen copper wire, 2 or 3 strands twisted to make the bail, depending on how chunky you want it! You're teaching me to be more flexible in my process, I wish you lived next door 💖✌️😘
Awwww!!!! That's so awesome!! Yeah I had no idea a couple of thin wires would get the job done!! Now the possibilities are endless! I wanted to add amethyst too originally but I did not have a smaller one on hand!! It would be so awesome to have neighbors interested in soldering! We would have formed a band! lol You are so sweet! Thank you for your sweet comment!!!
@madebylamodernique please keep posting your soldering experiences. Could you video "placing a jump ring" on a pendant? Thank you. I've watched a few on U tube and everyone makes it look so easy but I seem to have too many fingers when I do it💖✌️🤣
Hi!! Sorry just seeing this!! ♥️ I just posted a video on how to set a jump ring! 😉 here’s the link ♥️ ua-cam.com/video/TVZ_FF3m8To/v-deo.htmlsi=aRyo4Y0MZJCy21ru
Hi, thanks for inspiration! Just a tip on making embellishments on soldering: I have learned a lot from Laura Beth Love! Kindle store, and youtube! But, don’t aim for perfection in soldering - the rough edges suits your style!
Love it! Lol ...I'm glad I'm not the only person that growls at my piece when there's something I don't like about how the process went.😅 I think it's wonderful though! I recently had someone give me some money to invest towards building a creative business. Not a ton of money,...but enough to maybe upgrade a few tools. So I'm looking forward to upgrading to a good adjustable temp soldering station. I think it'll make a big difference in the techniques and finishes I'll be able to achieve with the solder. Great video, Eugenia! Inspiring as always!! ✨💖✨ Oh, and love the hats too!!💃🔥
The thickness of the solder is of no significance. It only means that you have to unwind the wire from the spool more often. What you can do is to twine to or three lengths around each other to the desired thickness. Not all solder brands make solder wire that is 2-3 mm thick. Hers look like 3mm. Be aware of that each solder has different melting temperatures and it is recommended that you keep your iron at around that temperature. Too hot iron will damage your solder tips faster, it can release more toxic fumes and it can ruin the thing you are trying to make. If you go too high on the temperature, the copper tape will lift from the surface, and you risk loosing your crystal, or cutting yourself on the sharp edge. I solder at 220C degrees because my solder melts at 217C. That is 428F and almost half the temperature she uses. There is no need to go warmer because my solder is liquid like water on that temperature. So check the melting temperature of your solder and keep to it. As you get better, you will want to have two or three solders that melts at very different temperatures,, because it makes it easier to make more intricate pieces.
Hi! So it depends! When you are soldering, initially, you would have to add flux to a copper tape. Sometimes you don’t need to add more flux and you can continue building up using solder wire, but sometimes if it sits for a few minutes, he can get oxidized and to break up that oxidation that forms on top of the surface of solder you would need to use flux. So you would kind of get a sense of it when you’re working. The rule is basically if the sorter is no longer adhering to a layer of solder you would have to use some flux. I hope this was helpful. Thank you so much for watching my videos! 🥰🥰🥰
Very nice i think ill try this one day. But I highly suggest for everybody a pair of thick gloves to protect your hands! 😊 where did u get the black and white swirly necklace at the beginning of the video its so pretty!
Thank you! 💕♥️I thrifted it a long time ago! It’s super tribal and chunky. I even forgot it was hanging behind me! Lol I was like which one was that? 😂♥️🥰
For the bail? ♥️ I might have it at home, so I think it would work. Why I chose silver is because I wanted to make sure that if I can cover the whole thing, nothing but silver will be picking through. So if it’s any other color, it might be visible. But now I know that you can build up as much soldiers you want so maybe I can use a copper wire. I will find out what metal the wire is used is made from. 😉💃🏻♥️
At parts: covering the wire in solder 19:38 , attaching it to the crystal 22:10, adding the statement piece 25:50 did you use flux to help the solder stick the metal. Because I want to do a project similar to yours and the solder kit I bought has rosin in the solder wire but I don't think it's enough so I was going to get flux to help the solder stick to the wire better. Is there a difference between flux and rosin or are they the same thing? And at 22:10 did you use flux at the end of the bale when attaching it the base on the crystal?
Hi Barbie! And sorry for late response, I was busy with few projects! To my knowledge, rosin is used for tinting a soldering it. It is usually very viscus and will leave dark residue if left uncleaned on any metal surfaces. Flux (could also come in a paste form, but I prefer liquid because it does not leave any residue) is used to remove oxidation film that is formed on the surface of soldering wire or any metal you work with. It helps to break that film and let the wire melt. So based on my experience you should absolutely get flux ( I suggest liquid one) and use that when soldering. I used flux to attach solder to a pendant. I fluxed both: the actual solder and the pendant to attach one to another. Here is a link of a liquid flux that I use and love in case you are going to get one :) I hope this helps! Here is a link amzn.to/3Q07bZq
Hi Eugenia, I am new to your channel and trying to catch up with your great videos! Wondering if copper wire would be more affordable? Can hammer it a little to add strength. Would it be an option? Greeting you from Amsterdam 🤩
You are so sweet! Amsterdam!? 🥰🥰Wow! How cool!! To be honest I have not tried it. Copper tape here in US is only 9 dollars for two rolls so did not have need to look for substitutions. But I will experiment and will let you know if it works! But I feel like you do need that adhering part that copper tape has. So just copper might not work. ♥️ Sorry if this was not too helpful!
@1ballistica oh! Yes! I think any wire would work for a bail! I was so surprised myself! But any wire would work! With a little bit of flux and lead free solder wire you can use any wire! I will experimenting with it more. Now that I know it works and becomes sturdy!
I bought the same soldering iron. I accidentally wiped the tip with sponge and then let it sit there without tinning the tip. Now I can’t pick up solder 😢 how do I fix this? Did I ruin the tip? Another channel mentioned tip tinner…I can’t coat the tip with solder because it won’t hold, or melt…. Or anything.
Hi! Is the soldering tip appearing to be rusted? If yes, I would just go ahead and replace it with a new tip. That soldering iron has 5 more it comes with 5 more ☺️

Wouldn’t silver back tape work better than black?
I like black for moodiness but I think silver would also look beautiful:$
