Personally, the Selbstlader 1906 is my absolute favorite Medic weapon to use. It might only have 5 rounds, but that’s why I love it, provides a great challenge to make your shots count. But that’s just me, I love damn near every gun in this game.
I feel that way about a couple of weapons. I think some of them are almost bad on purpose. It’s good to to use the 1906 and the RSC for a while because they teach you how to conserve ammo and land your shots.
I've really enjoyed the selbstlader I've had Alot of fun with its damage Altough yea in close quarters with Alot of enemies It's pretty bad That magazine just doesn't cut It
There is a range where it has the fastest time to kill of all medic rifles. If you utilise it's accuracy and manage to force engagements on slightly longer medium distances it's actually one of the best.
Five round SLR's (and RSC 1917) are the most underrated weapons in BF1. Autoloading 8.35 marksman (well technically the factory) is by far the absolute best weapon in the entire game. That being said, the 1906 is actually the worst out of these low mag size SLR's, but it's still miles ahead the most popular SLR's you see people using. They're extremely difficult to use, but they have absolutely crazy time to kill potential at ALL relevant ranges making them ultimate skill cannons. Mag size is not really a problem when you learn how to manage it and if you happen to run out, you still have the best secondary weapons in the game available to you (Auto revolver for example which is capable of slaying even automaticos up close). Generally speaking mag size is kinda overrated statistic in shooters as you can work around it (you can't compensate for bad TTK). It's much more important how fast you can take out a single target than how many you can take out with a single mag. For players who argue against this: Record your gameplay and pay attention for the downtime you have between firefights and the times you're healing. There's so much more time to pull off a reload than you'd think at first, the game isn't as hectic as you think it is when you're on that moment. Low mag size isn't the limiting factor most of the players think it is. Ease of use doesn't equal actual effectiveness. AL 8.35 marksman is my most used weapon in BF1 and probably the all time favorite in the entire series. After 3.9k kills with the AL 8.35 I have a KPM of 2.6 with it, that's the same as I have with the MP18 trench. They're completely capable of being used aggressively like SMG's but unlike SMG's they're also brilliant at range. With the medic class you also have the ability to heal yourself (little bags are so good in this game). I hold 3.66 infantry K/D with 1975 SPM, the highest out of any Battlefield game I've played and only reason for that are the amazing low round SLR's for the medic class and the time I've put into them. Especially the AL 8.35 is a brilliant peace of gameplay design and balance: It's the absolute best weapon in the game without being overpowered due to the massive learning curve it has. This hasn't been the case in any other Battlefield title as the best weapons are also criminally easy to use effectively.
This shows that the weapon balance in this game is good. Most of these weapons are good enough to do well with aside from the piper and pistol carbines though I still use those sometimes for trolling.

The cavalry carbine version of the Carcano was a bit weird to add because most Italian troops had the standard length Carcano, maybe DICE could only find reference material for the 91/38
Nice video! I definitely don't agree with mp18 experimental being on the list. And I would for sure add some LMG defensive variant. Some of the defensive variants are literally straight downgrades from all other variants where as some of the other weapons on this list _does_ offer something unique (though not very versatile). But I agree with most though :)
The Mercie Optical may be bad, but the Telescopic with that tripod us my go to MG for the game, it never did me wrong unless I tried using it in a way it doesn't want to be. My issues with it are all because of me, not her. She's my Emma Gee of choice for WW1 MG alongside the Lewis Low Weight.
I understand why the Big Lugers on the list but tbh it's one of my favorites. I have 10 service stars with it, since I focus on revives it's perfect for killing that one dude by the dead teammate quickly.
The gameplay you showed for the auto shotty made me double check to see if this was a best of list. Yeah it can't 1 shot. But can 2 shot from the hip pretty far out
Great list, just a few things I'd choose differently. the rsc is not bad, it's meant for either hip fire or just shooting 1 shot at a time. I've had exceptionally well games with it on smaller maps. The M1917 is really good, shouldn't be on the list. The shjogrun, (I forgot the spelling 😅) is worse than the 12gauge, cause they're both 2 shot weapons most of the time except the 12gauge has faster rate of fire. And the pistol carbines are decent, except the m1911 extended and c96 Carbine, since those two gave me the most difficulty getting a service star with and are just bad. The Benet mercie is a trash weapon so I'm glad it's on this list, but it is cool. I do like how all the weapons are very different from one another.
The Benet Mercie? Ouch. It, the scoped version, is actually my main weapon in most War Dove and Supply Crate games as it can beat EVERYTHING at mid to long. It gets accurate very fast and is a laser. Monte Grappa War Dove 37/2, Kap Heles Conquest? 32/0. If you know that the game will probably not allow for run and gun gameplay the thing is a beast. Best defensive weapon in the game, especially for small game modes.
@@LoneWolf-vu6qy Yep. Downing snipers at 100-300 m is such fun, especially cause your impact is technically even bigger than one shot kills, cause you can cut their HP to a 1/3 and they will duck in cover for a while instead of spawning again doing something more useful.
Just a little note - the American Benét-Mercié round is pronounced "thirty aught six" - .30 means the calibre, and 06 means 1906, the year it was adopted.
the m1909 bene optical was OP at the beginning of this game. I have 9 stars on it. Since i' have not played in 6 years no idea when it was nerfed. Sad though. Or maybe it was just replaced by the newer LMG's. One things for sure - nobody was using lewis low weight like they are now. that gun is what killed me the most this weekend (after 1917 campers from the next country over)
It's a shame that the Luger Rifle is in this list. I personally love the sound of the stripper clip making the *_ping!_* sound when it flew forward after being ejected by the toggle action whenever the character reloads it from empty.
The M1917 Trench Carbine is my irl holy grail of firearms. They are found occasionally for $10-20k. It's also the one gun I've excepted I'll never own. I'll settle for a C96 eventually, and if I'm felling it may look into a gunsmithing project to convert it to a M1917.
IDK how much it differs but I was using the benet-merce storm and I was RIPPING through fools on devils anvil. I had a pretty fun time, I like it personally.
I really like the carcano for close range maps or aggressively playing larger more open maps. In those settings it acts no different. But I get not everyone is the same
The vetterli is my highest kill weapon and I can say, actually getting a sweetspot kill is Saturday af and I have fun sniping snipers with it with iron sights
I can't describe why I love BF1 so much easily, in many ways the core gameplay loop is just Battlefield with lesser weapons but everything around it just feels and looks so right... as goofy and unreal as some parts of the game are the parts they built with authentic history completely overshadow the former in my opinion. I've never played a multiplayer game that is so easy to just fall into and be immersed. I think the best thing compliment coming from an incredibly competitive player who hates losing is this game makes me not care.
Look I know the RSC is doodoo water. Especially for the class that it’s on. But DAMN does it feel powerful. I’ll take a weapon that can consistently get me kills while consistently getting me killed over a crutch any day.
I agreed with everything but 1 thing on the list, people still say im weird for saying this, but i think the rsc, is criminally underslept on. In my usage with it is that its really effective at more longer ranges at tends to be an effective autoloader. Just use it on semi auto. Goodvid lad!
Yeah, that's a pretty common complaint people have had with the list. Personally, idk, I just cannot use the weapon. Idk, every time I touch the thing, everything goes to shit
Love the history parts of the video, gives a lot of context and interesting info to what your talking about. It’s clear you really do your research! Small detail tho… .30-06 is (i think) pronounced “thirty ought six”. Kinda like shotgun round such as 00 buck “double ought buck”. (Idk if it’s represented as 00 buck though)
I totally agree with the Carcano Carbine. Fun in concept but sucks in practice. And, if you land a headshot from too far away, you'll discover that yes, it is in fact possible to deal 99 damage to someone I'm not exactly on the same line of though with the Vetterli-Vitali. While i did not get to test it out too much, it is surprisingly efficient if you are insane enough to use it on maps like Fort De Vaux and you'd be surprised to see how useful it can be even when compared to the carbine. The RSC SMG also isn't that bad as long as you don't rush mindlessly ; i definitely agree that it's a letdown, but even a guy who's a complete monkey at the game (like me) can actually shred people with it. One thing i would like to see though is it being more useful at range, since it fires huge cartridges but is shit there I partially disagree with pistol carbines, i think the M1903 Extended and the Luger P08 Artillerie can actually be useful (one shining in CQC damage and the other in sheer SPAAAAAM) and even decent in some situations, although the C96 Carbine is just a disgusting alternative to the Artillerie P08 and the two others are so bad it's almost funny
Well done sir. Keep up the hard work, looking forward to your next video. Also how much would I have to pay you just to do a video about the Selbstlader M1916 Optical? God I loved playing with it
The RSC smg is supposed to be a cutdown RSC from the medic arsenal. But it is more useful in semi auto at medium range. And auto at short range. But the crippling factor isthe ammo count. But it is fun to use as a handicap make you want to be more accurate with your shots making every bullet per clip count. Very fun but not very useful in a very competitive match. Like your on the last sector on somageux and the enemy still has 3 battalions left.
If one wants completely new experience, try a server with 200% bullet damage. This will change many guns to be way better, like the RSC SMG with single fire mode is 2hitter and can be used to very long range, essentialy turning assault into sniper
I was imedeatly scared when I started watching. #10 just so happened to be my primary medic weapon and i was afraid the Chauchat would be on this list as it is my weapon of choice out of all the weapons in the game.
I would have added the Enfield Infantry for its horrible sight picture, obscuring 90% of your view. But other than that I do agree with your list, great video!

C93 carbine should be slightly lower because atleast with the other pistol carbines i can see the enemy after the first shot
Keep ‘em coming! Watched the top 10.
Will do ❤
13:01 Co1e: talking shit about the benet mercie
Meanwhile Co1e: Takes down a plane using the benet mercie
I like the mp18. But when you have the Hellriegel that works on any distance, it kinda makes it useless, but still fun to change it up
But u can’t. hellriegel's horizontal recoil is crazy
I'm French and the way you said "pistolet mitrailleur" killed me 🤣
Your mic quality really improved from the last top 10 video. Keep up the good work!
Cheers man ❤
“all these weapons suck”
(goes off using all of them)
seb 1906 is so fun. absolute skill cannon.
But can 2 shot from the hip pretty far out
Co1eFPS: "This gun is really bad"
Proceed to kill the whole lobby with that gun
The telescopic variant straight up deletes people, just mount and pull
Was one of my favorite MGs when I 1st started playing BF1 after it came out. The scoped version is basically a automatic sniper.
@@LoneWolf-vu6qy Yep. Downing snipers at 100-300 m is such fun, especially cause your impact is technically even bigger than one shot kills, cause you can cut their HP to a 1/3 and they will duck in cover for a while instead of spawning again doing something more useful.
"The Apex Predator of wanting to kys" lmao
He’s so good that he makes all these guns look great
Got my first Carcano service star last night, I don't know I just can't seem to be angry at it, I love that little gun
If the pistol carbines were secondary weapons, I guess it would do them some justice.
I had a load out where I used the Selb 06 and P08, I called it “yes, I’m a fan of toggle lock. How could you tell?”
How does this dude not even have 1k subs
It's an everyday struggle 😭
The peacekeeper is the worst. Not because of the stats but because of the mental torture it took for me to get it.
The selbstalder 1906 is really underrated
IDK how much it differs but I was using the benet-merce storm and I was RIPPING through fools on devils anvil. I had a pretty fun time, I like it personally.
I really like the carcano for close range maps or aggressively playing larger more open maps. In those settings it acts no different. But I get not everyone is the same
Also hot take on that M1870, that thing is so absolutely amazing in aggressive play styles
The vetterli is my highest kill weapon and I can say, actually getting a sweetspot kill is Saturday af and I have fun sniping snipers with it with iron sights
I like how even though these weapons are bad you still kicking ass with them.
"as goofy and unrealistic some parts of the game are"?! .....some parts?!
Love the lecture professor, it's something to keep me going as I count the pixels on screen.
HAHAHAHAHA this right here, best comment I've gotten all week. Thank you for making me laugh ❤
If he said the MP18 trench I was gonna freak out 💀
#5 gun in sniper configuration is dope, it's a laser gun.
I just rebought BF1. HAVENT played in years. Very glad people are still making content on it!
Look I know the RSC is doodoo water. Especially for the class that it’s on. But DAMN does it feel powerful. I’ll take a weapon that can consistently get me kills while consistently getting me killed over a crutch any day.
Came from your top 10 video. Thank you my friend!
Interestingly: the frommer stop auto is classified as a pistol carbine and I wreck fools with that on cqc maps
Hi, just found your channel, glad to see BF1 videos on 2022 I still play it on my PS5. Keep the good work.
Cheers man
I agreed with everything but 1 thing on the list, people still say im weird for saying this, but i think the rsc, is criminally underslept on.
@@co1e. I find the optical variant to be impossible to use, the factory one though is pretty nice.
It's not bad, but gets outclassed by other assault weapons.
I actually tried to search for Pieper Carbine on wiki but unsuccessful. Kinda cool and hopefully someone would make a reproduction of these.
good stuff bro
Thanks, Sebastian ❤
Great video man
Thanks, my dude ❤
m1911 extended is actually a solid competitor at close range, anything past 20-25 meters and it’s like throwing popcorn at enemies
Man running with a carbine and it's counterpart as your secondary is extra fun
Great content my man, I really like the editing and the format, one thing I kinda dislike is the intro. Overall, good job!! a treat to watch.
Cheers dude
Hey man thank you for making me want to play bf1 again, I’m having such a great time
Love the history parts of the video, gives a lot of context and interesting info to what your talking about. It’s clear you really do your research! Small detail tho… .30-06 is (i think) pronounced “thirty ought six”. Kinda like shotgun round such as 00 buck “double ought buck”. (Idk if it’s represented as 00 buck though)
I love how youre talking about how bad these guns are while showing gameplay of you kicking absolute ass with them
I totally agree with the Carcano Carbine. Fun in concept but sucks in practice. And, if you land a headshot from too far away, you'll discover that yes, it is in fact possible to deal 99 damage to someone
I'm not exactly on the same line of though with the Vetterli-Vitali.
One thing i would like to see though is it being more useful at range, since it fires huge cartridges but is shit there
I partially disagree with pistol carbines, i think the M1903 Extended and the Luger P08 Artillerie can actually be useful (one shining in CQC damage and the other in sheer SPAAAAAM) and even decent in some situations, although the C96 Carbine is just a disgusting alternative to the Artillerie P08 and the two others are so bad it's almost funny
Well done sir. Keep up the hard work, looking forward to your next video. Also how much would I have to pay you just to do a video about the Selbstlader M1916 Optical? God I loved playing with it
HAHAHAHA you don't have to pay me, mate. I'll add her to the list :)
Really good video bro :) Well made
The selbstlader 1906 factory is a BEAST in tdm and war pigeons.
My god you are underrated you deserve 1 mil
1 Mil? Idk about that chief 😅, I just do this as a hobby HAHAHA
Very high quality video, fingers crossed the youtube gods shines upon you with the algorithm haha 🤞
HAHAHAHA thanks man
The RSC smg is supposed to be a cutdown RSC from the medic arsenal.
I found the reload speed to be more of a nuisance than the ammo count. But I did use the low ammo count medic guns a lot
Your mic upgrade from a few months ago has greatly improved
Cheers man. It's actually even better now again, because I realised I've had it on the wrong setting since I got it 🤣🤣🤣
I couldn’t agree more with your list man! Tho I still enjoy using the sebstandler
If one wants completely new experience, try a server with 200% bullet damage.
This will change many guns to be way better, like the RSC SMG with single fire mode is 2hitter and can be used to very long range, essentialy turning assault into sniper
The Selb 1906, 1917 Patrol Carbine, and Benet Mercie are 3 of my favorite guns lol
Bro u honestly deserve so much more subs
Awww thank you, Erik ❤
@@co1e. no problem keep the good work up !
I have 22 service stars with the vetterli infantry
Good video pal!
Thank you, Jeremias ❤
Ur gameplay makes me feel like these are some op guns
HAHAHAHA I appreciate it dude, but man it was torture for some of these
I was imedeatly scared when I started watching. #10 just so happened to be my primary medic weapon and i was afraid the Chauchat would be on this list as it is my weapon of choice out of all the weapons in the game.
Selblaster 1906 is pretty good at making you focus on healing and reviving your teammates
@@tonygriggle5569
Yup. Gotta stay with your team with that weapon
that statement to the rsc smg was personal😂😂
I would have added the Enfield Infantry for its horrible sight picture, obscuring 90% of your view. But other than that I do agree with your list, great video!
I actually completely forgot that Variant existed. Those sights are AWEFUL
@@co1e. Haha maybe reason for a Part two? Or like "The 10 most mediocre Weaopns nobody really uses in 2022"? :D
