In Australia we have "Karen Diners", they popped up in the last 12months and the whole experience is centred on servers being rude to you from the moment you set foot in the restaurant. Great hospitality gig if you just want to be rude to people all day 😂

There is a restaurant here in the US called “Dick’s Last Resort” which is basically the same thing. It’s hilarious. I went once, and they give you paper hats that have rude names. Mine wrote “more boobs than brains.”

Think the internet is ready for some positive and entertaining content, people had enough of the drama, the pranks, the trashing etc. The podcasts that are thriving are the ones bringing real entertaining uplifting content....this one is nice, I like it!!!
@@culture8490 EXACTLY! Like this type of content is my favorite because u have 4 mature people having more adult like conversations about things that actually apply to all of our normal day to day life's. & on top of that they can still make it fucking hilarious & make us laugh!

Omg Carly I also have said I liked turbulence, BUT I’ve never experienced extreme turbulence before. So I’m aware that I probably won’t always like it or feel totally safe. I completely agree about it feeling like a rollercoaster though.
a tip for you carly: try and practice speaking w more conviction, that helps me w my anxiety (almost faking confidence). i'd also suggest to the others to let her complete her thoughts more (esp goes for erin and matt), than rushing to speak all the time. that'll encourage carly to speak more freely
I agree with all of the above! I want hear more from Carly and Mike. I’ve felt like they’ve been rushed when talking or Matt and Erin talk really fast 😅
This is such a comfort podcast to me! I hope it lasts a long while❤️ i play it for bedtime, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Many things don’t make the cut lol

I 100% support Mike about the cilantro. Idk if I have the gene but if something has cilantro in it I won’t eat it. It doesn’t taste like soap it tastes bad but on a more visceral level

Hearing them talk about the dentist as a Canadian is wild. I hate the dentist bc its one of the health care things we have to pay for and it feels crazy expensive/not accessible. It's wild to see them say cleanings are cheap in comparison to other stuff.
Erin saying “we like you being the punching bag”. Yeah, we can tell. She likes to rudely disagree with Mike every episode. Makes it not as fun to watch.
Typically as well I’ve noticed I tend to agree with Mikes perspective more than with Erin’s

I have the cilantro thing and I definetly taste soap, always have. I know this because I never tried cilantro til i was like 18 and was cooking for myself and bought cilantro to put in my meals. For a while I always thought that I wasnt washing my plates correctly or that my roomates put a prank on me by mixing soap with my food and it drove me crazy. Then I heard about other people thinking this and finally found out it was the cilantro the whole time lmao
I hate cilantro and I don’t taste soap so I’m convinced I just don’t like cilantro lol
I've come to the realization that if u don't floss after eating certain things, your breath WILL smell. Not flossing is the #1 contributor to bad breath. I have floss sticks on my 24/7
I thought Mike's story was like when Erin lied about knowing Avril.
So I used to feel that way about this quotes, but after being in therapy for a year and trying to figure some shit out…. Affirmations and that stuff get me in another way now, but I don’t doll them out or impose them on other people.

I have the cilantro thing. If I eat it I literally feel like blue dawn dish soap was an ingredient. It’s super unfortunate. But I feel like I can blow bubbles. Which then gives me ptsd-ish feelings because if getting soap put in my mouth with I was a kid. And it’s not hand soap body wash or shampoo. It’s 110% blue dawn dish soap.

I’m on the same page, I think kids are cute and I would love to babysit my friends kids but thinking about doing that 24/7 and prioritizing a child over everything else just doesn’t not sound how I want to live my life. Plus our world has become so f’ed up from when I was kid, I would feel bad to bring a human into this world.

Cilantro is is horrible. It’s the OR26A gene that makes us who don’t like cilantro cringe. To us it’s similar to black licorice, its that powerfully bitter and gross tasting. People who like black licorice also have a genetic component that makes it taste good to them. Matt, it’s true, cilantro will absolutely ruin a meal for those of us who just can’t eat it.

For someone randomly take the time to reach out to a good percentage of the world towards people that may be fighting depression it is a genuine comment and helps more people then you know. It doesn't matter if you don't know them. Those people are probably not told often, by anyone (that someone is proud of them) so they want to reach out to whatever community that sees it and feels the same way. BUT it is very silly that, that is what makes you angry....Alot of people don't feel seen and very lost in the world so a post saying im proud of you in case nobody has told you often etc. Literally should not trigger you. Having a better outlook towards that comment will be more beneficial and seen in a positive light. Just thought that should be brought to your attention. love all of you this podcast is doing great so far, cant wait for the next one.

This one reason they are depressed. They want approval of others. Maybe accept yourself for who you are. And gain confidence. A gravitate towards a better life for yourself not others.

About the sauces, I’m curious have y’all had fry sauce. When Carly said she dipped her fries in mayo made me think of fry sauce. Which is literally just ketchup and mayo mixed together. Sooo yummy

As someone that taste soap when theres cilantro i can say its true i didnt know what it was but we use it in menudo i would always taste soap and i didnt know why until tiktok
