I made it it was very easy but it took 3 days to let the wood stain dry and I messed up the first time so I did it twice I built it under 2 hours it is super easy only Complaint is that hammering the screw drive I accidently hit my finger with the hammer and broke my finger but it was super fun and a great gift for anyone

Wood finish you can find that at any hardware store like home depot of harbor freight

No, it white oak, but I’m sure you can use maple as well. It will be easier to work with.
