I'm not a real drinker but do drink a lot of water and diet coke. Mind you there are some of the premier cocktails i would like to try. Thinking of going on a Discovery 2 cruise next year, just not sure what package to get.
Hi Richard, great information. I know the video is 3 years old so the prices will be different. I have seen somewhere else that the drinks available now are very similar. Can you tell me about the Captain Morgan Rum? Is it the dark rum or the spiced? TIA Geoff
Hi Richard- Is bottled water only available on the premium inclusive? Am trying to work out whether it's worth paying for the upgrade or just to pay the surcharge when necessary.
They are different surprisingly, I was all inclusive on the Celebration last Christmas and found that bottles of beer, i.e Corona are Not included. Bottles are included on the Discovery 1+2 and the Explorer. I find this situation really strange.
Going on the Discovery this Saturday for 2 weeks! Couple of questions if someone doesn't mind answering; - Does my wife need the drinks package if I take one? I.e. Do they force you to have 2 or none? - When buying cans of soft drinks, can you take them with you unopened for either your room or excursions?
Yes, both all cabin occupants must take the drinks package upgrade if you take it (the normal drinks package is included as standard). Shouldnt be a problem with the soft drinks, just ask them not to open the can. Thanks for the feedback, appreciated.
So if no premium drinks package u pay for drinks between 2am to 10am. But what if u have the premium package . Can u still drink for free between 2am and 10am. Thanks.
Very informative! Can i just ask, if i were to order a vodka and coke for example, would i have to pay for the can of coke? Do they do just glasses of coke?
Thank you. If you are on the standard drinks package and ask for vodka and coke they would just put draft coke in it and there would be no charge. They would also do that even if you were on the premium package however if instead at the time of ordering you specified that you would like the coke to be separate in a can then on the standard package you would have a surcharge for the can of coke, on the premium no surcharge for the can of coke. I hope that makes sense.
Always ask for the better Vodka "ie" Smirnoff red which is part of the package or you will always get the Spanish crap they use in cocktails or equivelant etc
Thanks Richard, by watching your video I had no need to get the £50 upgrade (it’s really £100, both people in the cabin have to get it) My main complaint was the food in the main buffet. Everything was Luke warm. That was last month, never again with Tui !
the drinks package at £50 is that per person or per cabin for the week and the premium package in the book does that price cover every page you showed us or do you have to pay the upgrade charge for each page and if you upgrade to the premium drinks package can you still have drinks off the standard package i only ask because weve never been cruising and don't know how it works weve only ever stayed in the Thomson all inclusive hotels and paid the all inclusive price when booking the holiday, another point is can this drinks upgrade be booked when you book a cruise with either a travel agent or direct from TUI cruise and one last point we would have to save up for a cruise which would take some time as cruises are a lot dearer than hotels so like with hotels you can book a holiday a year ahead and pay every week but whats the longest period you can book a cruise and pay every week as ive heard some cruise lines allow upto between 3 and 5 years how long with Thomson/tui please as again im asking as weve never cruised and we cant fly so we would have to cruise from Southampton and do a med cruise for 2 weeks we would be looking at
Anthony Parker standard package is included with the cruise, premium is £50 per person per week. The other stuff your best asking Tui or your travel agent.
now you have confused the issue in your video you say the premium drinks package is £50 per week and in your reply your now saying its £10 pppn well that doesn't make £50per week in your video if the premium price is per person then you should say so as people will think its per cabin
you said champagne is not available on the premium not even by the flute so why as the last one (Nicolas Feuilatte champagne France) got the surcharge star marked by it at 8.95 in the flute column.
i know that i was pointing out that you said it wasn't available on the premium by the flute so i asked how come its listed with the surcharge as that menu shows it is available in the premium package by the flute with a surcharge
Well that is what they told me on the ship. I sailed on the ship and paid for the premium upgrade. I was told that the champagne is definitely not included. You will have to ask Tui why they list that where they do. It wasn't included though.
Never done a cruise. This was very informative and you should send to tui as a selling tool . Thank you :)
Excellent information , we are sold! Thank you
Is there a more up to date version. This one is 5 years old.
There is a good probability this will happen soon watch this space 👍🏻
Thank you for taking the time to share this information , really useful 🥂🍹🍻👍

It is not included on either although if on the Premium they will deliver a large bottle each to your cabin each day
So basically you have to work out which would be more costly. Paying £100 upgrade for your cabin, or the additional costs charged to your room.
are the mocktails blended with ice? and is this for the thompson spirtit too? nice video btw
Thanks Richard. Your explanation is better than the one on the official website. I really appreciate the advice. Marie
Great information we are on the Discovery in October. Shame they still don't include bottled water.
Excellent video... very helpful for cruise passenger !!
Very helpful video mate. Just wondering is this menu for all marella cruises? Won't be much difference would there?

So if i ordered a gin & tonic would i have to pay for the tonic
no, you would not pay for the tonic

no, you pay for drinks from 2am till 10am regardless of if you have upgraded to Premium or not.
Thanks for the video, really informative. One question though, for example I want a whiskey and coke.. do I have to pay for the coke?
Ryan Stubbs no you wouldn't pay for the coke
Richard Smith that’s a relief lol
Thank you for video, I was wondering what was included. First time cruising in September, so now got the heads up on drinks. Thanks again.
going on my first cruise and would coke by the glass be included
draught coke on the standard all inclusive is included (sometimes they pour from bottle). If you upgrade to premium you can ask for cans
Brilliant, exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you
Is this menu only for Discovery 2 or does it include Discovery?
PAULINE MARTIN discovery is the same
Great information, thank you for sharing this.

Makes perfect sense thank you! Currently looking at the rest of your videos, all very informative!

Fab information....thank you
Thanks, that was very helpful
you said it was £50 is that per person or per room
mrbarprahs that was per person and i beleive both cabin occupants must upgrade to premium not just one individual
It’s £50 per person and all cabin occupants must upgrade (excluding children)
Thanks Richard, by watching your video I had no need to get the £50 upgrade (it’s really £100, both people in the cabin have to get it)
