I have an S class Mercedes and I would like to polish the chrome window surrounds with a nano polisher. Can you either recommend the process and what to use or consider a video. You can use reflect or ultra cut in my store. And a microfiber and work by hand. Depends what we are trying to fix. If it's dull this should work out pretty well. If it's scratched badly it might not work as well. Technically a y polish or compound will work. Polish is likely a safer bet on that chrome but without seeing it and understanding the condition and goal it's a little hard to make a solid recommendation.
      You can also masks it off and try using a 1 or 2 inch pad but will require something like a pxe to really make progress.

    I agree with most of what you said here. The part I’m unsure about is when you said you didn’t want to sell a $20 bottle of water (glass cleaner), but then state (1:13) that’s essentially what prep is. Why use the $$$ prep at all then and not just use an IPA for glass and pre coating instead? Which, by your own admission, both Prep and glass cleaners basically are. Also, the dye in prep seems counterproductive as it must leave some residue.

    • @STATUSDETAIL

      Prep is ipa. It's just pre dultued. You can totally go to Walgreens and buy literal isopropanol alcohol put 7% or so into 1000ml water and make no nonsense panel prep and glass cleaner.
      Most people just want a buy it now button tho.
      Prep is simply more versatile. I use it for many thitabd it's also my glass cleaner. If I bought a glass cleaner I would not use it for the other things I use prep.

    So what you’re saying is I could just use a bottle of 95% water & 5% alcohol and call it a day?

      @@STATUSDETAIL it does look fine…until you get behind the wheel and drive in the sun.
      These products have things like gloss enhancers that don’t just buff away, and as you mentioned yourself streaks, even more obvious when looking through glass.

      @@LSD04 I do this on my personal cars without issues. Prep has no gloss enhancers.

    What do use for bugs

    • @STATUSDETAIL
      @STATUSDETAIL  Рік тому

      On glass if your covered in bugs then the car probably is too and you should wash everything.
      Bug and grime remover from gyeon or carrots is great during wash.
      If you have a few random bugs on glass use any method in this video.
