idk why people are so stuck up on the word mythology. if you believe in something and want to say it's real then that's your choice and people should respect that. but when other people don't come from the same background or have faith in the same things as you should respect them and their beliefs too. the word mythology can be and is used for things of this nature.. things that don't have concrete, solid or scientific evidence that are often mythical "events".. people just assume it is disrespectful when it is just the right technical term. and one can tell he has no ill will otherwise he wouldn't have made a whole movie after being inspired by the legends. shame it has to explained

The requirement for Hanuman to manifest as an avatar of Shiva would be omnipresence since both of them existed at the same time. Shiva is the supreme lord and assuming he isn’t limiting his own avatar, Hanuman would be omnipotent too

Also, Hanuman Ji did not lost faith at one point, he was given a curse when he was a child by rishis that he will forget his powers and once he will be reminded of his powers then only he will be able to use them. Hamnuman may or may not have inspired the mythology of Sun Wukong, I can't say.
From what I know, the resemblance is only limited to the fact that they are Monkey men. Other than that, they have very different personalities and stories.
hanuman is a a part of 2 of the indian epics , ramayana . He is from a mythology or some can even say ramayan actually happen centuries ago . So no its not inspired from goku or wukong . Its history.

Actually it's the reverse. Buddhism originated from India after the existence of Hinduism so I think the story of Sun Wukong was somewhat inspired by Hanuman although the only real similarity I think is their appearance and abilities. Very different stories.

I have never seen a Hanuman poster in any of the gyms in my entire life in India. Dev Patel has this very western view of India. For him nothing exists in India beyond Mumbai slums. Everyone is poor. He likes to fetishise poverty while the reality might be not as bad as he likes to portray
