- Here's a clip from the Original Broadway Cast of Hairspray. Tracy wants to audition for the Corny Collins show but her mother tries to stop her from reaching her dream.

So not true! Shannon Durig could run circles around them all, vocally. her run as Tracy was really something special, it felt like a correction in casting - no shade to MJW.

That's great to hear. Remember you can't be Vitamin C, Laura Bell Bundy, Britney Snow or Dove Cameron (who by the way will play Amber in the NBC production). Make Amber 100% you. You got to make the audience love to hate you and love you 100% in the end. When you got to dance, you got to dance at a little below your best and when you got to be mean you got to be mean.

i saw this many times, but got lottery tickets (front row) the night before it closed. The original cast, at this song, they tried to get me to come on stage, since I knew the dance. But due to a knee injury (tumor in my knee removed) I wasn't able to jump on stage and join in. Did get most of the cast to sign my Playbill, and Marissa Jaret Winoker signed my ticket. Was amazing... its funny, every time I saw a broadway musical, i had issues with my phone so never got pictures with anyone... at least i got there signatures tho!
