a1b3do / I own a classic Citroën DS. Not in the same rank. The DS is original in both design and engineering. The 3 looks like an old Alfa Romeo. Even though the design is unoriginal, and a regressive rear suspension going to a non independent beam axle, it is definitely the most attractive in this class. The new Corolla is very ugly, but design wise, more original. The new Mazda looks classier, and I imagine the price tag will be around 3000 dollars more than each comparable trim with the Corolla. In other words, the Corolla will sell 3 to 1 over of a Mazda 3. In the car business, that means a lot . In the United States, there's an expected price range in this class of car. Though the Mazda is beautiful, it's going to have a hard time selling these at the price point.
@@cargueone1971 Where are the hydro-pneumatic suspension systems on cars today? Or a button for the brakes? Shouldn't original also imply influential? You've neglected to mention the ignition compression of the Skyactive X, a breakthrough automakers have been chasing since the first internal combustion engine: And the design, which creates body lines through reflected light rather than creases in the sheet metal, is something I've never seen in a production car. Honestly, on what earth is the Corolla design original? Because they tacked on the grill from the Avalon? Shrank down the headlights? In five years, they will blend into the traffic. I'm sure the Corolla will continue to be the one of the best selling compact cars, but I don't know what point you're trying to make. a1b3do It does look nice. However, Kia has done something similar with the new Forte, in that they’ve smoothed the side curves. And I much prefer the Kia interior. Especially the rear seats.
This car looks absolutely stunning. First time I think the hatch version is looking better than the sedan. The drop like rear design reminds me of retro designs and I absolutely adore Mazda for having the guts to take this approach.
Hello ,Thomas , the thing I like about Mazda is it has a clean, non -busy design. Also affordable for all folks. A clean design also means a timeless design , not too many schnickschnacks to confuse the buyer.. Detailed review as always Thomas , super job !!!
First, hats off to Mazda by keeping it true to the concept. The clean look is the way to go, I was waiting for something like this for a long time, no ridiculous and useless fake air intakes, just shapes. I like the exterior design of both hatch and sedan, but I would like to have the sport look on the sedan, as an option at least since it's my favorite body style. I share your opinion about those vents in the passenger side, my reaction exactly, very poorly implemented and designed. Also, the screen frame is a little odd, but nothing too serious. I agree on having fewer equipment levels and starting with lots of the features as standard, although, might not be the best solution for everyone. However, there's something that I can't quite understand, just as the model before, why there's only 16" and 18" and with the not so commercial friendly tire measures.
Daniel Fernandes I agree with you about the unpopular tyre size (215/45x18) on vehicles equipped with 18” wheels. I have this size on my current model Mazda3 and it offers very little choice when it comes to replacing the tyres. I was hoping Mazda might go with a much more popular size like 225/40x18. I just don’t understand why Mazda persists with this uncommon size, at least here in Australia. But it wouldn’t stop me buying the car.
I agree completely. The design is timeless and daring, almost retro. I love the round shapes and am excited about the engine tech they introduce. The exterior is great and the interior also classy and comfortable and I personally like the control knob a lot. What for touchscreens? This moving around in the car is useless and dangerous! And everything in the new Mazda 3 looks stylish and uncomplicated - perfect!
@@markuslangguth7315 I agree with touchscreens being dangerous, it's a big distraction when driving, I know this in first hand but I think they could implement when the car is stopped, then there's no harm. But not a dealbreaker for me, I like the center console buttons and round switch, it's simple and effective. That being said, they did a great job, can't wait to try it.
This is the reason why I love Autogefuhl, Thomas dgaf if he goes on his hands and kness in a full suit just as long he can give his visual observations on the car and everything else we want to know.

First of all is a Series 1 competitor, the Bmw series 1 or the Audi A3 start from 25.000 while this Mazda start from 22 ...so not a big difference ( while Toyota or the Vw Golf start from 18).. that's why in Europe Mazda is considered more a premium brand then USA, in Europe we also have the lower end production of Premium Brand
@@francescovicenza1822 but we can agree that mazda gives you the best features for your buck compared to the aforementioned vehicles , and in the US its considered a non-luxury brand, so for Europe that's interesting how its considered luxury.

Unfortunately it is not up to the competitors space wise. Almost all other cars in that segment have more space and legroom in the rear. Definitely a downer ...

A trans module is not a rebuild. At the end of the last 5000 mile oil change interval I got back from a 2000 mile Marathon trip in 50 hours. Car ran like a champ. Did not burn or leak a drop of synthetic oil.
I must say, This is one of the best review/preview of a car that i have seen this year. Very refreshing, and in depth. You got yourself a new subscriber =D
First I have to say I really love your reviews, so professionally and well made where you can clearly notice you've done your research before you cover any car and it feels like a passion of yours, it's a joy to check them out, hands down the best car reviewer for my tastes. There were something said about the spoiler, will there be an option (premium package?) to get a higher sportier spoiler at the back? I've seen in some of the other Mazda 3 2019 coverage videos where the new grey'ish blue color tone is presented on the hatch, the spoiler looks like it's bigger/stands more out/up. Any more info about this in particular or is it perhaps just for the show? I think the raised/bigger spoiler goes a long way at making the rear look better on the Hatch, it just balances it out better to my perception. It can be seen in the Redline Reviews coverage around 5:55 mark. Also gotta say I don't think the red color goes that well on the hatch this time around, the black frontlip together with the red color doesn't "work" that well for my tastes looking from the front as it kinda breaks the synergy of it. A less contrasting color like grey or darker color work better IMO. I think the new grey-blue color looks fantastic on it.
Good job on the filming (and correction? Not sure if that's part of the editing). Obviously others put in a lot of effort in their video's as well. But for some reason, the video people at Autogefühl get it just right (for the way I like it anyway). With all the lights and shininess the circumstances are quite annoying I can imagine. Props to Mazda for the design. I really like it. The C style will come with some problems in terms of rear view I think, but many cars have this and you'd have to sacrifice design to improve that. When it comes to the decision to remove the touch screen functionality, I personally think it's a good one. Just focus on one kind of input and perfectionize that. The bezels around the screen are a pity and I don't like glossy finishes . I like that they were willing to make the choice to sacrifice rear seat comfort. I mean, who drives a C segment car and still has adults sitting in the back on a regular basis? Not that many people.
My first car was Grandma's used Mazda 323. Trusty little car... Have had a soft spot for Mazdas ever since and love what they have done with this one. Pity you can't have a virtual display but in this price range the 3 looks like a winner. As an aside: I totally agree with cloth instead of leather seats! 😇
I have had a Mazda 2 for the past 8 years and I am looking to upgrade to the 3 in the next 2 years. I love it, the hatchback has a stunning, simple and elegant design. Soft and curvy shapes have always been a constant in every beautiful car, and this car confirms it. I am very disappointed with the air vents design, they should have used the one in the current 2/mx5 with the round design, sooo much better. I bet they will change them with the first redisegned model in 3 years from now. Btw amazing review: complete with interesting details, neat and calm. I really enjoy watching your videos, I think you are one of the best in the business.
One never expects a compact car to have "classic" styling. There are so many unavoidable compromises and limitations on design at this scale. But, man, this new 3 might just be a classic.
Great review! We've seen Thomas climb into the back of a 911, and now Thomas attempt to crawl under the Mazda 3 hatch! haha AWESOME! I think this hatch is a very clean daring design but I can hear all the cries about the blind spot of that C pillar starting already....
Mazda have made a great job with this new mark 4 model. Design manages to be clean yet sharp and interesting, and the interior also looks great. An impressive car.
@@autogefuehl may i ask if which do you think is better looking with the hatch the previous one or the 2019? they say it is better to look in person but most of us don't really have the luxury of having the chance..
Great review! Mazda has always had marched to the beat of their own drum , not afraid of reinventing themselves. A prime example of this Mazda Miata, Mazda rx7, Mazda 3 speed and the use of the rotary engine, even though not reliable to today’s standards. There is something special about their cars. A car can be attractive and stir your emotions and also be affordable. I think some car brands don’t think this combination is possible. When I am on the road and I see these Mazda’s most recent generation cars whether being a cross over or their SUV’s I always do a double take because these cars look like premium priced vehicles! Well done Mazda ! If you build it , they will buy it!
Just makes the Golf look a lot more boring. BMW could learn a thing or two in putting less details gives a much greater effect. Mazda still at the top of their game in terms of design and it's really good the car is as close as possible to it's 2017 KAI Concept. Sedan's back end sort of reminds me of the Mitsubishi Lancer. I'd like to see a comparison test with the sedan ( not a fastback design ) against Hyundai's i30 Fastback ( true fastback ) sometime please. Great that Autogefuhl got to show the dash/cabin when some websites still can't. Top preview there Thomas and fantastic video footage from the camera person.
I own a mazda 6 and I NEVER have to use the touch screen, it just leaves too much fingerprints. The center console physical control nobs are more then enough to accurately navigate while driving. However, it does make typing in the address in the navigator just a tad bit faster.
Nice somewhat-subtle circle rotation (and contraction) animations on the infotainment screen when the command knob gets rotated (or pushed). I think it will legitimately make some people more comfortable with the idea of rotating an object in order to move the selector up-down or side-side.
I have the 2017 version and I love it! Back then I also looked into Mercedes, BMW etc but Mazda offers such great cars for a much lower price. Definitely have to take a look at the new model when it’s at the dealership.
One of the main reasons I watch your reviews is how detail you analyze quality of the cars 👌. Like I always say, leave it to a German to analyze build quality. Beautiful design by Mazda.
great video Thomas, and cracking looking car, nice to see some elements from CX-5 being added. Keen to see what the SkyActiv X engine compares to the 2.0L 165PS we have in the UK, also hope they offer Stone leather option too. Infotainment screen improvement, but agree should use the whole size and tilt towards the driver also good. Armrest good improvement, dislike my CX-5 short one. Just wish they would STOP using gloss plastics in the interior. Fastback colour is beautiful Machine Grey and finally colour coded door lock buttons.
I hope this engine is truly revolutionary! The petrol engine hasn't really moved forward in technology. The designers, really know what they are doing at Mazda. Love this car being so true to concept!
I'm really loving it, tempted to exchange my current 2017 HB for the new gen HB, might wanna wait for the 2020 version. BTW, you must be really tall or the new version is lower .
Love the lights. I hope those will not be subject to equipment package. Curious about the turn signal style...really appreciate your great work team Autogefühl! Cheers!
Kudos to Mazda for not toning down the design from the concept! This is sure going to be an eyecatcher on the road and will make a lot of people interested in Mazda as a brand I just wish they went all the way with their futuristic design and added usb type C ports instead of the old ones to futureproof the car...
Great review Thomas! The new design is quite something else. I am pleased that they have taken on many of the concept car's design elements. So often, car companies do not do so, thus disappointing us all. Here here Mazada! I agree that it is definitely not a car to have above average height adults in the back. Even average height folks look like they might get a little claustrophobic. Kids, it looks perfect. Very much suited as a family hatch. It also looks like it might make a credible tuned hot hatch. Mazada might just give the new Toyota Corolla and others a run for their money! Let's see.
Excellent job Mazda! will be on my list - AWD to be had soon?

NIce overview. What i'm interested in is will Mazda again make sedan without stronger petrol engines or not. In this case Skyactiv-x in particular. Previous generation sedan was available with only 120hp skyactiv-g but with both diesels.
You will be laughing but my first ever car was a red 1985 Mazda 323 1.4 LX 2 door hatchback, 4 gears( not 5). Loved everything about it, someone bumped into me one day and decided to respray it, as well, the red they gave me wasnt even expensive but it was changing the shade of red, too:D I went through different cars throughout the year, and now I cannot wait to go back to Mazda.
Yeah we are putting A LOT of work in every piece. Thanks for noticing!
New Mazda 3 looks really good, I would defienietly go for it. As always Thomas great reviev, love from Poland!
11PM here on the East Coast and I'm watching Thomas when I should be sleeping.
Autogefühl always doing the most. Thanks for uploads guys!
always keeping up the effort for you guys!
i´ve never been interested in Mazda but after watching this video, im imprested....what a great job !
mazda - kings of design 2018
mazda has been killing it lately with car design, imo they are leading the pack
Good review of a good car. Smart moves by Mazda on design and standard equipment.
the best review always, saludos desde CHILE
That instrument cluster has the exact same layout as my 24 year old Mazda MX-6!
I don't think I've been this excited for a normal compact car before.
Great review Thomas. I will be interested to see comparisons of the new Mazda 3 to the new Ford Focus.
i love the auto shows! it means more Thomas that week :)
cool :)
Excellent in-depth review of this impressive newly designed vehicle...
Thanks from Australia. A great, informative review.
cheers feel free to recommend us :)
Thanks feel free to recommend 😎
One never expects a compact car to have "classic" styling. There are so many unavoidable compromises and limitations on design at this scale. But, man, this new 3 might just be a classic.
sehr schönes Auto. Mazda hat es als einziger japanischer Hersteller verstanden schöne Autos zu machen!
Genau!
I have been researching this car since April, defiantly getting this!
Great review! We've seen Thomas climb into the back of a 911, and now Thomas attempt to crawl under the Mazda 3 hatch! haha AWESOME! I think this hatch is a very clean daring design but I can hear all the cries about the blind spot of that C pillar starting already....
=)
Mazda have made a great job with this new mark 4 model. Design manages to be clean yet sharp and interesting, and the interior also looks great. An impressive car.
Just bought the Mazda 3 2019 hatch back today! Exited to see it for the first time in about a month. Very anxious ;)
this channel deserves more subs
feel free to recommend! :)
@@autogefuehl may i ask if which do you think is better looking with the hatch the previous one or the 2019? they say it is better to look in person but most of us don't really have the luxury of having the chance..
Great job on review!
If you build it , they will buy it!
thanks for following!

Every time you are good Tomas... you make the presentation on the new art level. Very nice Tomas..😉
👌
the most exiting design in it's class, welldone Mazda ..
I'm never a fan of the hatch BUT this one omg looks beautiful wow
Thomas always does a good job
Watching your reviews are so mesmerizing your accent is amazing.
cheers pal :)
I love that this new design language harkens back to the FD RX-7 as in there are no creases, it's a natural flowing shape
they way you presented the car....Mr.Thomas...is a done well job. Thumbs up!
👌
Thanks for this in depth show casing!
Appreciated !
Top preview there Thomas and fantastic video footage from the camera person.
thanks as always!!
How come you guys can be fidgeting with the car when other reviewers were not allowed LOL
Because this is Autogefuehl.
Autogefühl 😂😂😂😂👍🏼
Autogefühl good one!! 😂
Shhhh! LOL
That sedan is the best looking car I've seen in a while . Excellent !
How does the new carkey look like?
Being User Experience Designer, this interior is great! especially the large display
12:00 I think it's the best solution to safe life, a good idea from Mazda
I really want to watch the new Skyactiv-X and the driving experience
this is really a good looking hatch ! nailed it
One of the main reasons I watch your reviews is how detail you analyze quality of the cars 👌. Like I always say, leave it to a German to analyze build quality. Beautiful design by Mazda.
Keep recommending! :)
very good stuff amazing review
Very good presentation! can you tell us more about the window price.Thank you!
great video Thomas, and cracking looking car, nice to see some elements from CX-5 being added.
Research the 1.5 TSI ACT engine from VW. I think it's a step forward for petrol engine
Great review. Mazda did amazing job. New hatch can be a gamechanger-if price will not change dramatically
thanks, feel free to recommend!
I was curious about this car! Nice job Thomas! When he come to my country I will made a test drive. Also curious about the starting price and options.
Cheers! We ll keep u updated with the driving review as soon as possible
I just realised, where is the front number plate going to be located? On the grill? Eekkk.
hahaha nice catch. Well license plate can be move to the tow hook place.
I wouldn't mind to the side JDM styles though i don't think the laws here in my country allow it.
I think it may be going on the grill... there are 2 plastic pieces spaced about the width of a license plate at 0:42 :(
I have a side mount on my 2011 3 hatch.
The only new Mazda 3 review I have been waiting for! Fantastic job, as always! Love the new exterior design (especially HB)
Cheers pal!
Cheers!
Daniel Schaumann Nope, those lights are standard fitting☺️
Love this car.
It willy be my next ...whit the skyactivX of course.
Love you guys from Autogheful
Kudos to Mazda for not toning down the design from the concept!
This is sure going to be an eyecatcher on the road and will make a lot of people interested in Mazda as a brand
I just wish they went all the way with their futuristic design and added usb type C ports instead of the old ones to futureproof the car...
Nice cat photo on your phone Thomas :-)
Beautiful car!
Let's see.
thanks 4 following!
I actually need a Mazda 6 estate( kombi) but Ill take this Beauty in a heartbeat:D Thank you for the review.
cheers :)
