It wasn't until just months ago, with increased shelling, driving evacuees into Russia, and Ukraine massing 100 to 120,000
of their best troops just outside of Donbas, that Putin, also under pressure from activists in Russia to DO SOMETHING ALREADY!- to protect their Russian-speaking "cousins" just across the border, Putin finally took action.
If you had relatives living next door, and saw their kids in the back yard being bullied and threatened with death, I hope you would DO SOMETHING!
Strikes me like you've only gotten one side of the story.
I'd recommend Oliver Stone's "Ukraine on Fire", not to be confused with Netflix' "WINTER on Fire", which comes up first on You Tube's search, despite not being in alphabetical order. You Tube REMOVED Stone's film at first, but protests got it back.
It seems their tactic now is to derail your attention. Search "U", and get "W"! "Soft censorship".

once again his logic is failing! Should it make me sleep better at night thinking that one of the most horrible regimes in the world (Russia) would become the most powerful superpower in the world? (USA). Thank God USA stands strong with its allies in the fight for democracy , freedom and free speech across the world! The only thing that makes me sleep calmly at night is that Russia is a pathetic little mosquito that lacks the balls to take up the fight against the powerful west. Luckily, the west learned from the second world war and became more powerful than any dictatorship could ever match! The only worrying aspect is China, that gets too much support from the west with their low quality commodities! The west should immediately stop buying chinese goods, so they would become bankrupt!
Seems to me that Al Arabiya is less biased regarding the situation in Ukraine than 99% of the controlled MSM in the West so I have decided to subscribe to this channel.

Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden ranks 1,2,3,4 in the world, while Russia is ranked 150 before this war, which has even worsened. Any voice within Russia is silenced. And here you are acting as if that is not happening.

America, in my opinion is pulling the strings on this war, there is no talk of peace not even pretending to listen to the concerns of Russia. Yes a lot is propaganda but there are facts too that are being overlooked such as NATO expansion or the minsk agreement as well as nazi group designated as a terrorist group not long ago, now part of the national guard and of course the coup in 2014 which as the leaked audio shows Victoria Nulald played a key role. The western media is turning a blind eye on these events and it makes you wonder why.

Lavrov should give all interviews to foreign media in english from now on. There has been too much "lost in translation" especially recently. It seems that western audience never gets the exact words of the Russian side, but rather a manipulated play of words delivered by western media. Lavrov always expresses himself very precisely and eloquently, which is not really the case when his words are translated.
I, too, found some of the translations to be incoherent. I'm sure Minister Lavrov wishes to use his own language, but I do appreciate hearing his message in my own language.

One has to admire the eloquence of Lavrov and interviewer for their excellent English and vocabulary. They have good diction and speak clearly even if their views are diverse. It is interesting that some people can relate well in a second language and articulate with style and eloquence. The Londoners in my Wetherspoons pub who speak English as a first language have no opinions, no comments, no political acumen. If you have a home and you're being harassed by your neighbor what would be the best and fair solution? I don't think it is that you abandon your home. The best solution is to come to an agreement. Those were the Minsk agreements but Kiev wouldn't respect them and war got worst. I don't think it's fair to say that people living there should go. I am here in the US, and I really wanted to hear every word of what Foreign Minister Lavrov said. The one who is interviewing him (of which I can't find his name) sounds just fine and clear. I don't know if anyone else noticed, or if it was just me, but the video had pretty bad audio, only when Mr. Lavrov spoke. Besides fading in and out, it was scratchy. It sure would be nice to have a transcript of this talk! But I'll just listen to it again, so I can catch everything.

As much as I feel disturbed by the plight of the Ukrainian people, it is difficult not to see that NATO has been playing a very dangerous game in Eastern Europe. This whole mess is clearly the result of a breakdown in relations between Russia and NATO. Appreciate the efforts of Al Arabiya in showing us the other side of the story.

This whole mess is clearly caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The reason NATO was moved East towards Russia is the former members of the Warsaw Pact knew this would happen one day. And they were proven right.
