Just to help, my 2010 you can actually remove the washer filler neck. It turns about 90 degrees and pulls out to get out of the way. There are two lines to line up. Pretty easy
I reversed my step and spent a long time putting the clip back on, almost 2 hours. The trick is using a mirror so you can see and feeling the tab the clip goes on. It was frustrating. I hope you can figure it out. Otherwise removing the bumper and headlight gives you more room. Let me know any questions you may have.
I would assume the method should still work just the bolts and screws may be in different places. Since they did a slight face-lift of the front of the car in 2011 and newer models.
My TSX passenger side headlight is pointed to the right and it makes the color bluish. Could the bulb be Improperly installed or is there an adjustment screw to adjust it left and right?
If the headlight is still attached to the car, I saw a hex bolt with a ring of teeth right behind the low beam housing. It would be near the radiator reservoir bottle when looking at the passenger side. It may adjust vertical or horizontal. The other suggestion would be checking if the bulb is sitting properly in the housing. Could use a mirror or an inspection mirror (amzn.to/3YV2Ytj) to look back there. Hope you can be able to adjust it!
I literally having this issue right now with the clips. The dealer installed the bulb wrong making it uneven. Now I’m having a hard time getting these clips off. I’m gonna need to remove the bulb!
I had a hard time fiddling around on those clips when I messed up at first removing the bulbs. I would suggest a mirror or an inspection mirror (amzn.to/3YV2Ytj) to see what's going on in there. Hope you can get it figured out!
I believe you cannot install the LED to the connector since it comes from the ballast which is located underneath the headlight (see part 2 where I replace the ballast - ua-cam.com/video/DaxOgXocFhc/v-deo.html) When I was removing the ballast, I noticed the connector into the ballast was like a connector for regular headlight bulbs. So I believe you could connect an LED bulb to that and hopefully the cable is long enough to reach the headlight housing. Hopefully this gives you some insight. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@cristianfabian5077 I just took off the the positive cable and put a towel over the post so that the cable doesn't accidentally touch. Removing just the positive cable breaks the connection so it's not necessary to remove both. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions.
Serious question: would removing the fender itself make it easier to do this job perhaps? I know it seems silly but in this case it might literally be quicker and easier to do that. I feel like it's a pain in the ass and really time consuming trying to get to the back of the headlight there through the hole. What do you think?
Dude i just dont know what to do. The dealer wants $450 to replace bulb. And $200 to diagnose. So i said skip diagnose and just do the fix. But after watching this im thinking what if getting a new bulb doesnt work and i need to replace the ballast. I want to try it on my own and save $350 but what if new bulb doesnt work and its the ballast.
So doing some research, it seems like there's no part number for the bulb retaining clip since Acura makes you buy the entire headlight. 🤦♂️ One option would be to find it a local salvage yard. I found some random universal clips on Amazon. Not sure which one works, but here's a link to all the clips on Amazon amzn.to/3JHpdvl
Hope you figure something out with it. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. These headlights can be pretty frustrating. I made the mistake the first time of un-hooking the clip before twisting the connection off first..took me 2hrs to fix my mistake 😔
You should plug the ground back. Just make sure you disconnect your battery for safety. Electrical components need a good ground to operate correctly and not fail earlier than normal. It should be a little easy to plug the ground back since all you have to do is open the back cap. Then maybe with a mirror you can try to plug the wire back.
I had to re-tab everything so that I could twist the connection off the bulb. Took me 2 hours fighting that. Later I noticed that silver wire connected to the back was a ground wire. There's a white connector attached near the tabs for the bulb. If you disconnect that white connector, then you may be able to pull out the bulb. First time around I was worried that silver wire was a permanent connection and I didn't want to break it. The silver wire kept me from pulling the bulb far enough out. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Just got a 2009 TSX. Thanks for the in-depth tutorial!
You're welcome and congrats on getting one! I'll try to put up more content on the TSX. Please Subscribe if you haven't yet! 🙂
Thank you for the help!! Our problem wasn’t the pins, but the darn ground wire.. that alone took about 15 minutes of fidgeting… 😅
Oh wow, glad you guys were able to figure it out. Crazy how grounds can mess many things up 😅

Awesome! It took me a lot longer since it was my first time dealing with the bulbs haha. I'm glad you were able to get done!
This was a really good video!
Thank you! I appreciate the comment.
Hmm you should always disconnect negative side first before positive.
Very true, thanks for the info!
bro I made the same mistake and the little metal clips that hold the bulb in place came off… how did you get that back on? would be a life saver 😂

I wonder if this works for the 2013 model. Does any one know?

@@SkyShadowMedia thanks for the reply! I will be trying this method shortly. Thanks for all the help!
@ufuriri you're welcome!

I think there are adjustment screws behind the headlight housing? I will take a look during the daytime to see if I can find it.

Will this work for led or would I have to replace it and convert it ?

Ok thank and when u replace the bulb do u only take of postive or do u remove both the cables for the battery

Wow that is alot for just the bulb!
I'm glad you saved money and was able to fix it! I appreciate you letting me know!
Do you know if there is a part number for the “mouse ears” wire? One of my headlights was missing this🤦🏻♂️

Hey where's the part 2 video??
Sorry been busy. I have the part 2 video almost done. Thank you for asking!

I unpluged the ground wire for the igniter and didn’t plugged it back in. How safe am I to stay like this? Thank you

The washer fluid reservoir just lifts out
Thanks for the info!
I dropped the warning cover into my bumper 😂😂
Oh man, were you able to get it out?
You chose a good car my friend
