Bacterial cell wall structure

- This video describes the basic structure of a bacterial cell wall. All bacteria cells have at least a few, if not many, layers of peptidoglycan. In it, sugars are linked together in multiple rows. Protein cross-links (vulnerable to antibiotic action) connect the layers. Lysozyme can break the sugar connections. Gram negative bacteria have an outer lipid layer in addition to peptidoglycan layers. Most bacterial pathogens have capsules to prevent phagocytosis and potentially to aid in adherence and invasion. www.sciencewithsusanna.com has diagrams, notes, and practice questions.
i wasnt able to understand the diagram in my textbook. but when i saw your video. and you explained it really well thank you. I was able to understand it.
InstaBlaster.
I wasn't understanding it in my textbook but you just did magic within 12 mins thank you so much, god bless
In the picture, you drew capsule at the wrong position. I believe it supposed to be outside of the peptidoglycan cell wall.
This is the order for gram positive from i side out: cytoplasm- phospholipid bilayer plasma membrane- Thick peptidoglycan cell wall- capsule
For gram negative- cytoplasm- phospholipid bylayer plama membrane- thin peptidoglycan cell wall -additional llipopolysaccharides outer layer (LPS) - capsule.
I watched this once for my midterms and now I'm watching it again for my finals.
Really can't thank you enough!
Thank you Thank you Thank you
It feels great when you can understand something ... Keep the good work up!
8-year-old, 12 min explanation ... it helped...
The plasma membrane was supposed to be where the bilayer phospholipids are! So it would be cell cytoplasm, cell membrane, cell wall ( made of peptidoglycan) and the capsule
I'm so happy to watch this. Thanks
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you sooooooooooooooooo much i love you
Thank you! It really helped me understand the concept.
Can't thank you enough for this. Keep up the good job
Thanks for your colorful comprehensible explanation😊❤ It was really helpful and understandable.🙏🏻🌸
Wow! You're so didactic! Congratulations!!! Absolutely loved the lesson!
Wonderful to hear that! You must be taking microbiology! ;)
Thanks for taking the time to comment on my videos, and please continue to point out errors or things that can be improved.
OMG finally able to understand it. Thank you from Spain med student
You draw and explain so well! Superb :)
the protein xlinks are supposed amino acids only connected to the nams?
Chicagoland Real Estate Agent Yes that is correct!
But is also links nag. Then how can you say that it only connected to nam
You just added value, thanks 👍
Organized and very well explained. super. Thank you
Probably the most simplistic yet comprehensive explanation I've come across.
...kudos (ツ)
Captain Velveeta Thank you for the nice comment!
Your voice sounds a lot like Amazing polly! Great video, Thank you!
But i thought tht in the same layer of peptydoglycane there is two types of linking
One is made of 4 amino acides and one is made of 5 amino acides
which links the the first nam to the second nam
The third amino acil of the first peptidique chain linked to the interpeptidique chaine which is connected to the fourth amino acil of the second chain
But all of this is in the same layer 💔😢
So how are two layers connected ?!
I really don't get it
Plz answer me
I think the interlinking is always seen with NAM of one layer with NAM of another layer between the 4th amino acid group(D-ala) by cleaving the 5th one(which also contains d-ala) and 3rd amino acid group of another layer of NAM by the pentaglycine crosslinking. I didn't understood why she linked the NAG of one layer with another.
Very well explained, thank you very much!
Thanks
Thanks for the well explanation :)
Thank you for the wonderful video!
Thank you for this! Makes sense now
FINALLY I GOT THAT THING WHOME I WAS SEARCHING FOR.!!
VERY SOOTHING VOICE NICE TO HEARE IT😁😁
Thanks.
YO this was mad helpful God bless
U explained quite well
Very nice and usefull👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
inter layer linkage is mention but what about intra layer bounds ? ps; thanks for the vid
Thank you for this! Makes sense now😊
Thank you!
Awesome
great job!
great
Omg, thanks a lot
Thank you
