That is the most beautiful loaf of bread that I've ever seen! This video was so very informative. You've given me the courage to try this myself! Thank you, Stef.
Thank you Stephanie! I've been wanting to learn how to make sourdough bread but time has not been favorable so far. Yes, there are many How To's out there but you've made the process look so very easy. ♥
Your loaf of sourdough looks beautiful. I love a good sourdough bread. When my kids were very young and I was married to their dad, we’d go on vacation once a year. We’d stop in @ San Francisco Ca. and walk along the pier eating a warm loaf of sourdough bread. It’s one of my favorite memories. And the smell of it baking and wafting along the pier is irresistible. MMMmmmmmm!!!
My aunt cept sour dough starter when I was a kid. ❤ I remember that bread like it was yesterday ❤. I wish to be a baker like her.🎉 I'd eat a fresh baked, warm slice, slathered in homemade butter from the cow's milk. ❤❤❤❤❤ Thanks for the memories Stephanie .
I love homemade bread. I used to make it with my mother frequently! Brings back such great memories. It has been quite a few years since I have made it or done homemade starter. Your bread was beautiful when finished!🤗💖
That looks absolutely wonderful! And would probably kill my ketogenic diet. Something I’m willing to sacrifice for those results! Can always cheat and move on again! 😂 Thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to seeing how to create my own Megan! ❤ Stay safe and blessed out there Denman’s! ♥️🙏♥️
Back in the seventies was a sourdough craze. That’s when San Francisco started selling sourdough bread! My starter was Herman. I made bread every Monday for seven years. My first husband demanded it! I suffered migraines I left him headaches gone and I let Herman die. Maybe I’ll start again. Sourdough makes great grilled cheese! You are really getting better with every video!!!
Beautiful and yummy! I could just taste that bread with A good pat of butter 😋! Sourdough bread , as you probably know, is A good bread for us Diabetic’s due to it’s low Glycemic make up. Thanks Steph, as always fun, enjoyable, DIY Vid! 💕
I have just watched how you make sourdough starter and then watched this. I have always been scared of making sourdough but now I think I am going to try this. Thank you for your videos ❤
i like the use of the banneton for this bread. I decided to keep the beautiful lines from thed rise in the banneton because they were so pretty. Thanks for the step by step guidance.
Aww man, we didn't get to see dinner and the loaf of bread being cut. This the most exciting part. Oh well it was a beautiful loaf of bread with the design cut in it. I bet it was good too👍✌️ Hey Steph, I had to come back I forgot to ask you if you've ever made any dark pumpernickel bread. I love pumpernickel bread, toasted with butter it's awesome🥰
Thanks for the tutorial! Always wanted to learn sourdough bread making....now off to the races to find a Dutch Oven 😊 Much ❤ from Calgary Alberta Canada 🇨🇦
Good morning from NH ☕🍁🍂🌾🍞🌾It all looks so amazing! I do a sourdough but yours looks so bubbly, I wonder if it's because I don't use bread flour and use reg flour instead🤔 I will have to try a new batch and see! Thank you for sharing🥰🍞🌾
The wait is very important for the person eating the bread. My mother once found the bread before it had set long enough. She ate half the loaf. Then suffered from a bloated stomach because warm bread releases a lot of warm steam/gas.
I am doing sourdough starter also Stephanie mines a little different than yours and especially appreciate that tip about dropping the sourdough in the water and food float thanks🎉
Hi Stephanie: enjoying your video on sourdough bread making. Question, when I feed my sourdough starter the night before do I leave it at room temperature or put it back in the refrigerator? Thank you in advance, Mario from Santa Rosa, California
Question: on your long rise, i think you said 3 or 4 hours, how do you know its "done" rising. You said it could take up to 12 hours. I dont know how to tell how long it needs.
I'm totally lost with the metric system. I have no experience to visualize the amount. Scale is the only way I could follow and complete this recipe. I feel so old right now. And my football team lost.
So many steps were done incorrectly in this video. You put the dough in the basket on top of the cloth. You put the bread into the cast iron pan when the cast iron pan is already hot.
I really love your videos. I'm 74 years old find learning new stuff is fun. You explain everything very well
The bread looked amazing Stephanie. I've been eating more Sourdough bread instead of white and it has helped with stomach issues.
My very favorite bread. San Francisco had the best I ever tasted. Yummy yummy yummy!!!❤❤❤
How to make a starter??
Well done Stephanie. Your sour dough bread looks fabulous. I can bet it tastes great. Thankyou for bringing this start to finish recipe to us. ❤❤

Hi 👋 Stephanie 🎉❤
Have never mad sour dough bread but sounds good wonder how good gluten free flour would work with it!
Hi Stephanie: enjoying your video on sourdough bread making.
Question, when I feed my sourdough starter the night before do I leave it at room temperature or put it back in the refrigerator?
Thank you in advance, Mario from Santa Rosa, California
Id leave it out
When was the tutorial on the starter yeast? I want to watch it to learn how to make it!
It's coming up this week
I’m so scared about baking bread, you make it look so easy
😋👍
I liked this for sure. Question: I don't have a Dutch oven, now what?
If you have an oven safe deep pot and a cooked sheet you can use it as a lid to keep the steam inside
Yum yum 🫶🏼
Stephanie. What size is your dutch oven? I need to order one.
Hi Stephanie. Where did you get your bread bowl from?
Amazon 😁
Can you use a dough hook and mixer in any point of this?
Hi Stephanie. Do you coat the Dutch oven with anything?
Just parchment paper
Hi Steph, I can’t find your starter tutorial.
I haven't posted one yet. It will come out this week
Question: on your long rise, i think you said 3 or 4 hours, how do you know its "done" rising. You said it could take up to 12 hours. I dont know how to tell how long it needs.
Stephanie, where is your mic? You are too far away from camera mic to hear you well. 🙃🎤🥖
Yes, I agree. This happens a lot when she videos in the kitchen like this. Yes, I couldn't watch, it's just too hard to strain to hear for me.
Do you have a favorite sourdough cookbook you can recommend?
A little dog hair is a an optional ingredient 😂
That looks like a few too many steps for me lol. I think I'll head to my local bakery 😂😂
What is the cost of making this bread ? Thank you 😊
Great question. I'll have to do all the figures for that
I wish you would go back to the microphones, especially in your kitchen.
Okay I wanna see Buddy’s PROMPOSAL I’ve seen Lester’s and Jake’s
I missed the whole how to make starter video
Coming this week!
I'm totally lost with the metric system. I have no experience to visualize the amount. Scale is the only way I could follow and complete this recipe.
I feel so old right now. And my football team lost.
Feed it what???
Flour and water. I will show you soon 😉
So many steps were done incorrectly in this video. You put the dough in the basket on top of the cloth. You put the bread into the cast iron pan when the cast iron pan is already hot.
Looks too pretty to cut and eat.
You sound like you’re miles away( well maybe not that far but you’re really hard to hear..
