These people are so humble in my opinion . And one thing I noticed is they are constantly acknowledging the technicians and their hardworks which can never been seen in our bollywood. A lead actor praising child artist ,71 year old supporting artist. I dont remember seeing such things here.

For the girl who asked question in 31st minute: its not recently that malayalam got great.. malayalam movies have been always great.. even in 80s.. but because of this ott and social media stuff, non keralites are receiving this info now only.. it is always content oriented.
I watched #2018 Night Show in Bangalore Housefull show - half Tamilian's, mix of Kannadiga and Malayalis. As the movie ended there was a thunderous applause ftom the entire audience and a sense of togetherness and pride from everyone. Thank-you #Jude, producers and the entire cast & crew. Can't explain the emotions.. #proudmalayali

What is a national channel? Hindi speaking or English speaking channels? Nobody bothers about Hindi speaking channels in south. For that matter even English channels are not very popular here. For people in south India, all channels are the same and cater to their audience in a language that is understood by that audience.
I was literally waiting for this interview. Being a Malayali living in Mumbai makes me proud even more when good content driven mallu films work. All these individuals are so rooted to the industry & have passion /urge to do things better in a limited budget is another plus in a way. Kudos to the entire 2018 team. As Tovi rightly mentioned now a days people wait for the streaming platforms to watch the movies but he pitched it so straight that I have decided to watch the movie with my family soon. Anuragakarikkin Vellam,2.Kooman,3.uyare, 4. Kettiyol anente malakha, 5. Rorschach. The list is not over some more movies are remaining.
Malayalam films are content driven from ages. Only people who say what u smoke just came to see it now and exploreed it now... Even blockbusters in hindi whom people appreciate is old malayalam films. Diamond was always there in the mud. U just cleaned it now to see it.

Also to note, Malayalam cinema has always been story driven and content driven, its just in the recent past that the majority of the crowd are getting to watch cause of the evolution of the way we consume content around. Only if these vehicles and mediums were available back in the days/years, you would still see some gems. What we are seeing in recent times are the just fruits of the past, cause we've had some great writers and directors...Story was always the hero, everything else revolved around it but yes glad that bigger platforms like FC are putting light on Malayalam cinema :)

Im sure some of the crew member will see my comment. I live in Nuremberg Germany and I booked tickets for the premier show on 21st may. It takes two weeks for the show 25% is already reserved. Since we have two kids and kids are not allowed inside theatre premises. Unfortunately Me and my wife are going to watch the movie in two different show times. I'll be looking after my kids while she watches the movie peacefully. Comparing the hardwork the crew member did for this movie, the kind of hardwork people of kerala done in the time of flood this is nothing.
The best thing about Malayalam audience is that we go and watch the movie for the director not the actor . We love beautiful stories and we also love experimental films that are are good. We really don't care if the actor is superstar or not .we just want the film to be great. Even if a well known superstar from our industry act in a bad movie that movie is not gonna run with just the starpower.
The woman who said and think "only recently" good content is coming out from Malayalam. I would like to correct her: We always had been creating exceptional movies with stories that were too ahead of its time. 80's and 90's peak Malayalam and it dipped in early 2000's. Like Tovino said our reach is limited.

If you have any doubts about just live couple of months in rural areas any other state in India and you will know. This is the real Kerala story. After watching this movie me and my cousins noticed the crowd was completely silent (pin drop silence), goosebumps. One of the best movie ever watched.
If Bollywood had made this movie, There would have 5-6 atleast romantic songs, some songs in foreign destination. Unwanted and unreal fight scenes , over dramatic scenes budget over 300-400 corer budget. And still delivered flop Now here we have a Malayalam movie which was done is a best and less budget which show so much of hardworking this is one of a best Malayalam movie to be watched in theater. It simply shows great movies can be made, it’s not all about money but a desire of the team and actors and good writer and direction.
js back from the theatre.. had a great visual experience. am not sure if people without such floody experience would resonate with and identify themself with this movie.. bt this movie is awesomely real. Perfect mixture of reality, drama, strategy, documentary within it and the show of humane spirit of care and concern unlike the propaganda driven The Karela Story causing terror and differences between fellow citizens.
Unable to get weekend tickets here in Houston, Texas. They have increased the number of shows after seeing the huge demand. Glad to see people flocking to the theatres again. Great job 2018 team !
You too brutus is the movie that brought Tovino under my radar. Its simple role, but i feel its one of Tovinos best performance. He single handedly raised the standard of that movie, from an OK to enjoyable movie.
Tanvi Ram fans like here One and Only Lady Superstar. Can act in all kinds of roles. Serious/brave/complex - KPOB Sister of heroine - Enkilum Chandrike (where it was a great matchup between two of the greatest malayalam actresses and Tanvi prevailed) One scene wonder - Thallumala where TR eclipsed shine tom chacko with the subtle expressions and timing. Romantic without romancing/dramatic without dramatising - 2018 The variety Tanvi has in her filmography is unparalleled
To, All the ones who disregard the incidents shown in the movie 2018 or disregard the tragedy happened in 2018. It hurts when people like you, call all the real episodes and incidents that had happens to us the whole kerala as some big lie and curse us. It hurts not because we are the one affected, it burns because it demerits all the cumulative efforts put together from common man to the rescue team from Indian army, who stood shoulder to shoulder trying to save the life of their fellow people, irrespective of caste, religion, sex, color or anything. Im sure some of the crew member will see my comment. I live in Nuremberg Germany and I booked tickets for the premier show on 21st may. It takes two weeks for the show 25% is already reserved. Since we have two kids and kids are not allowed inside theatre premises. Unfortunately Me and my wife are going to watch the movie in two different show times. I'll be looking after my kids while she watches the movie peacefully. Comparing the hardwork the crew member did for this movie, the kind of hardwork people of kerala done in the time of flood this is nothing.

The best thing about Malayalam audience is that we go and watch the movie for the director not the actor . We love beautiful stories and we also love experimental films that are are good. We really don't care if the actor is superstar or not .we just want the film to be great. Even if a well known superstar from our industry act in a bad movie that movie is not gonna run with just the starpower.

If you have any doubts about just live couple of months in rural areas any other state in India and you will know. I am not trying to belittle people belonging to any states and assuming any importance as a malayaali as i too am ashamed of whatever Remanent of caste-ism and communal-ism that is prevalent in my state. Better education and exposure and opportunities are the way forward.

Unwanted and unreal fight scenes , over dramatic scenes budget over 300-400 corer budget. And still delivered flop
Now here we have a Malayalam movie which was done is a best and less budget which show so much of hardworking this is one of a best Malayalam movie to be watched in theater.
It simply shows great movies can be made, it’s not all about money but a desire of the team and actors and good writer and direction.
