I remember in 81 meeting Bruce in the Hotel Lift when i was 15 years old before the World Final. My parents and wee sister were there too. He was a gent and we all stayed in the Crest Hotel in London together. We were invited to the after party but my parents didn't want to expose us kids to other things. That was a mistake.
Bruce was a wonderful Rider and a really lovely guy and i wish i could turn back time.
    Stevie in Scotland.

As a Cradley man I thought Bruce was the greatest but I always thought he never got the credit he deserved

Bruce did a good job. You don’t owe her apology to anyone. It was Racing Speedway you did it very very well. No apologies bro for being yourself. There was a lot of people that were jealous of your talent you gave me a lot of memories. God bless this light on.❤

Mr. Phenhall you were our hero at the time. I had 3 jawas and we did speedway every saturday afts and sundays here in Italy, on a private 200 m ground track made with the concrete net and an old car, to flat it. I trust you when you say that you've never touched Kenny by intention. If it happened, it was only speedway. Hugs from Italy.

I can't remember the full details but I went with my Father as a kid to I believe was the British League Riders Championship at Belle Vue (early 80s?) As a kid I went regularly with my father to West Ham Speedway and I'd seen some great riders. Christer Lofquist, Olly, Dave Jessup etc. That night I remember Bruce coming round the bend and virtually lifting the front wheel of his bike up and moving it in the desired direction whilst taking the bend. Amazing stuff. And fond memories of a great night at Belle Vue. Maybe someone will know the date and meeting? Thank you Bruce.

Great interview, but my complaint is the same for all documentary-style film producers; I don't need to see inside the pores of the subject, there's never a time that it makes the story more interesting to see extreme closeups, of anything. I hope this trend stops because it's taught in film school but adds nothing.
