  • Also; for trigger guys who are gonna flood the comment section probably arguing about this trigger; I know the Larue trigger is half the price and "just" as nice. I know the Schmidt triggers exist. I know the BCM PNT is great. I know the ALG is a Geissele finished Schmidt.
    I know, I know, I've tried a bunch, this is still my favorite; maybe I'll do those in the future.
    ALSO, I SAID SD-C, I MEANT SD-E.

    That trigger looks sweet! I'm not embarrassed to admit that it might be too much trigger for me. There were two times I got to try out fancy triggers on the range, and I'm so used to my milspec AR trigger that I needed more trigger weight. I sent a few down range when I didn't mean to (obviously if my finger was on the trigger I was already pointing at something my sights were on and I meant to shoot). It hit the target but I was really just trying to find the wall, not send it. Haha.
    But like anything, practice (dry and live) will make it all better. Haha.
    So the malfunctions were caused by the magazine after all? Interesting. Since I'm in Cali, I haven't used a ton of mags. Just the 10 round Magpu 10/30's and the one metal GI mag that came with my BCM, but since it had to get modified to be sent to Cali, it never worked reliably.
    I do like the movement you added to the drills. Trying to run and shoot or run then shoot looks super easy when you're not doing it, but get out there and try it and you realize you need to breath and your heart is beating and all that. Nice work adding that in.
    The fog is coming. Love the inside references in your vids! Haha.

      I've tried a BUNCH of different wizbang triggers for the AR at this point in my life, this was one that I got to shoot, and always thought "If I ever actually buy something that doesn't come with the gun, or build another one from the ground up, I'll grab it when it's on sale" It's ABSOLUTELY a quick way to ND/AD if you're not ready for it, or like you said, dry and live fire preparing yourself for it. I think today I just broke 1,200 rounds on it (this was filmed almost 5 weeks ago at this point) and it's absolutely one that you can get REAL fast with if you're ready for it.
      Yeah, I gutted it when I got home and it'd been so compressed it was double driving rounds when feeding. It did it in a different rifle I tried it on. Apparently the follower was swapped but the original spring is still in it. That's what you get buying in the bargain bin at a Local Gun Shop, it was cheap at least. I am a big metal mag guy, they are very reliable if your rifle is setup for them, outsided of that, Lancers are my favorites. Magpuls have given me issues when loaded for a long period of time. Gonna probably do a video testing that, got some magpuls that are pushing 8 years of being loaded in April, so that'll be interesting to see if they'll fire and cycle properly. That's a bummer the BCM one doesn't work for you, their Teflon coated ones they had (not sure if they still make them or not) were SUPER nice, but I lost 5 of them before 2020 and I have no idea where they went.
      And thanks! I really wish I had put my Solomans or different shoes on, those Vans were slippery as hell on the grass while holding a rifle unslung, probably should fix that next time. Wanna have a standard gauntlet of drills that I showcase, and moving 10 to 50 to 25 is probably gonna keep being one of them, gets the heart rate pumping good and it forces me to hold over and under with every dot I have, as they're all different zeros (which may be stupid, but it is what it is at this point, hahaha)
      Very true, man. The fog is coming.

      @@blueeyesactual For AR triggers, I don't get enough time on the platform to make the change, but for my Glock I do and I upgraded to the Johnny Glock Combat Trigger. It's not so light that there is any chance of an ND, but it's much smoother than the OEM trigger.
      Your magazine issue is one of my arguments against this stupid magazine ban in Cali. Mags are disposable and one of the first fail points of most guns / systems. We need to be able to replace mags.
      Coming up with your own standards or set of drills would be sick! Imagine the first time you see a video of some dude trying your standards? Haha. And at the very least you will know how each of your rifles and pistols operate using the same test.

      I know that I've probably showed a decade worth of ammo usage for a normal dude just since I started this channel, and while I know I am well above average in the number of rounds I fire, I for sure am not the best shot, this trigger absolutely can humble you, good shot or not. Gotta put it in my buddy's hands (Former Beret and is legitimately one of the best shooters in this state) and see how he feels about it, but for the Average Joe, it can be both a good and a bad thing. I think the military standard 5 LB trigger is a good thing for a lot of reasons, but I also get wanting to make a firearm your own and personalized. Wish there were more flat faced GI spec triggers that weren't super expensive. That'd be my go to suggestion 99% of the time, well polished or used GI trigger, but with the shoe you want. And I hear GREAT things about that JG CT Glock trigger, I have an OEM Glock Performance trigger, which I hear is similar, but I wanna get some more time on it before I do any videos on it. Triggers absolutely can change the performance of a firearm, and in my experience is the reason I've liked one, or loved it.
      10,000%. They're the entire lynch pin of a good system, and absolutely aren't forever items. That's why you should bee able to get as many of them as possible, mark them when they act up and dispose or re-spring when possible. Can't count how many times I've re-sprung mags since 2012 and would imagine getting specific parts or single springs out there is all but impossible. Man I hope SCOTUS elbow drops the 9th for you guys. I have property and spend a lot of time in Arizona, which I know is not California, but it's within by the 9th Circuit, and I do have a vested interest in some of the outcomes. It's absurd, and I keep donating as much as I can to the legal funds to help fight the good fight for my brothers in Cali.
      Yeah I think that it's the only way to get good data or keep things standardized for a review / thoughts on a product. I've been somewhat by the seat of my pants until the last few months, I can do "Initial Thoughts/Unboxing videos" which is all fine and dandy, but if I don't have a repeatable and standard to keep to, what is the point of a review? I see lots of dudes who review stuff, put 100 rounds through it or say they shot XYZ number of rounds but didn't just to get a couple thousand views. I actually am shooting EVERY number through everything I'm reviewing and it takes MONTHS. That's why my videos are a lot fucking longer than they need to be. Probably could wrap most of these reviews up in 6 minutes, but where's the fun in that? It's to know what people wanna see, too. Some come for the drills, some come for the information, some come for the builds, so I try and sprinkle a bit in each for everyone and cap it off with my personal experience, but try to be as analytical and show how I got my results to keep things fair.

    I got the Geissele SD-C. I love it! I was curious about the SD-C vs SD-E. But after watching videos and reading Forums, I end up getting the SD-C for a little harder trigger than the SD-E. But got to love the Flat Face. First one I ever brought. And will be continuing to buy.

      @DanggggTrader I 100% agree the C is the king of their combat triggers, I love it for a fighting rifle. E is pretty great s well, I actually tried them side by side yesterday at the range the C in a DD mk18 pistol build and it was a lot closer than I thought, but the take up and break is great on both. Both are my favorite triggers, but the C is the goat for a reason.

      @redtexan4381
      SD-E, sorry about that, I thought I corrected it in post.
      I genuinely forgot that I ended up going with the SD-E over the SD-C, as I had heard so many people talk about them and couldn't decide for multiple years, and ended up getting it for such a good price. I think I confused myself with the nomenclature and just didn't even catch it. That being said, the E is lighter than the C, if you're trying to find more information for procuring one yourself, C for Combat or fighting rifle, E for anything you're doing slow fire, hunting, bench or precision shooting; it just also can go fast as you can see if you watched the entire video.
      Thanks for catching it, gonna put an annotation in the more information to clarify.

      @@blueeyesactual I have a couple SD-3G triggers and a couple SSA-E’s. Both have their own uses but I was trying to find something somewhere in between those two

    • @blueeyesactual
      @blueeyesactual  8 місяців тому

      @@redtexan4381 Both great triggers, I've never had the ability to test them all together next to each other, but my understanding is the SD-E is just a flat bow version of the SSA-E. Though there being so many different models of these triggers it's hard to really know what is a true middle ground or pull/amount of travel you're looking for. Best bet would be call around and try and find a shop with a couple demos set up and go pull as many as you can.
      I also think Geissele has a video breaking them all down and talking about the features or what they are for, might be worth watching even though it's like 40 minutes long.
      Hope that helped, again sorry about the confusion with the wrong name. Hahaha.

    As I'm watching this I get an email from Primary Arms titled "All Geissele Products on Sale!"...I don't trust technology.
    Nice detail marking your optic mount screws. That's quite a tall riser and was going to ask if you looked into a CTR/MOE stock that accept cheek risers but you seem to get on target quite quickly without one! Ill be in your neck of the woods in a couple months and you can do a comparison with that one and the SSP single stage I got, maybe some timed drills to see if there's any noticeable difference.

    • @blueeyesactual
      @blueeyesactual  11 місяців тому

      Rofl, I don't trust it either. I had a conversation about a pair of boots, without ever looking them up and it started posting those boots as my Instagram ads within 2 hours after saying it. Fucking phones man. But that's what we got at this point.
      Yeah, I actually mentioned why I marked it in the (What I learned from 3 gun) video I filmed right before this, funny you caught that so fast, I'll be dropping that video next week, more than likely. Dude, I got the SL-K stock instead of the CTR and I am kinda kicking myself now, I saw the cheek combs thatyou can get and now I'm regretting going with this stock. I thought it was similar to a B5 or BCM but cheaper, oh well, never can have enough buttstocks that work. CTR is my third favorite stock of all time. Might have to get one.
      Hell yeah dude! That sounds like a plan! Gonna be a blast. Trying to figure out the budget for new PC and other stuff, but I'm gonna keep my eyes open and out for more steel and some upgraded paper target stands so we can setup full 3 gun style stages and do fun things.
      It's getting there, but it'll be a masterpiece when we're done with it.

      @@blueeyesactual Was on the phone with my sis and she was telling me about a house up there for sale. I'm over 600 miles away and have never been to the house. I ask her to tell me the address so I can google earth it and see if I've drove past it. After she tells me just the first two numbers it pops up as the first recommended address on google maps. Not cool. Heard Erik Prince talking on a podcast about a new phone, Unplugged Phone, its still only pre order and don't know if its legit or not.
      Noticed the stock because I'm kind of having the same issue. PSA has a lower with the CTR stock and other Magpul furniture that I've seen on sale for $149, hopefully again mid November. Then you got another lower for any uppers laying around and just swap stocks.
      Hell yeah! I look forward to getting to run some actual live fire drills. I rarely shoot my 870 but 3 gun drills would be fun! Something satisfying about running a pump shotgun. Haven't shot a lever action rifle but I imagine its the same good feeling.

      That's actually insane, kinda creepy, and I try and lock down permissions to as many applications, and things that I use as possible, but it's inevitable. Even with non-personalized ads on most accounts you'll end up seeing things you search or say, and I hate it. I also saw Erik (was it him on Sean Ryan's show? Man that dudes smart as shit) talk about that, there's a few that you can basically hot-load certain operating systems on phones, but there's gonna be hardware and things you can't get around unless you buy a modded phone. At this point, 19 years into the Google ecosystem, I'm surprised I don't get half the junk mail I hear stories of, but using a VPN, limiting your information leakage and locking permissions down as much as possible is always a good idea, even with your current phone.
      Dude, I just looked, 9/31/19 when I got that same lower, damn near $300, and it'll most likely dip down to the $109-129 price range for Cyber Monday / Black Friday, I for sure would grab a couple of them, if you can afford that! Damn nice deal, the EPT (trigger), stock and lower alone is that much, let alone parts kit, assembly and whatnot. Great deal indeed, thinking about grabbing a CTR lower as well, and doing a modern retro Front Sight Base/Block rifle for the channel. Always wanted to, ever since I took the FSB off my 16" and put a free float rail, I thought, this was a mistake.
      Well, we can do IDPA style or 2 gun (pistol rifle) drills, rather. Just meant like transitioning from rifle to pistol, or changing positions, stages, shooting around barricades, and running and gunning rather than actual 3 gun events. Even at the 3 Gun matches we went to, some stages were just one, or two firearms. So that is more what I meant, BUT, bring that 870! I wanna review it!

      @@blueeyesactual That Shawn Ryan episode was a good one. I thought one of the best take aways was how he mentioned Taiwan could protect itself against invasion if just 3% of the population, about 500,000 people stepped forward. Send some Green Beret types to train them and in 3 weeks could have them up to speed enough to do the job. I'll support that, not sending endless billions of dollars to fight proxy wars. Here's the training, you take it from here. Also, we should adopt a policy of not sending a dollar to any country without a 2A, if they aren't willing to protect themselves why do my tax dollars have to do it? I just started using a VPN again. Don't know if ExpressVPN is good but its the only one that doesn't slow my internet to the point it isn't usable. I love the Brave browser for blocking ads and it blocks out commercials on most video platforms and pandora.
      I'm lucky enough to have a PSA on the other side of town so don't have to pay a FFL transfer fee. The only reason I don't already have the lower is that location, for the longest time, didn't allow online order pickups, and wasn't going to pay $40 extra to pick up something 2 miles down the road from the store. I dig the retro rifle idea!
      Ill definitely bring the 870!

    • @blueeyesactual

      Yeah it's getting a bit absurd, politicians are screaming to support these states that hate us, but need our arms, military aged men, and tax money, but simultaneously wanna strip us of our rights, despite that being a giant factor why they're incapable of defending themselves. And if the private ownership of firearms is not capable of stopping a superior force, check out LITERALLY any conflict we've been in in the last 100 years. Rofl. It's getting quite ridiculous, I'm all for humanitarian aide, all for doing the right thing, but we're kinda destroying this country because we have weak leadership and a system that is causing profiteering to come before our people here at home. It's getting old.
      Yeah that's actually dope, I'd be in trouble if I could walk to a shop like that, for sure would have too many rifles, not like I already am bordering on too many, but much like magazines, the number of rifles you need is N+1, N being the number you own currently. Hahahaha.
      Hell yeah! I was gonna do a video on my cheap pump, but a 500 or 870, or Mav88 are the ideal cheap shotguns to do said video on.
