Captain Rahimian is one of the best pilots of Iran Air, I’ve had the pleasure of being a passenger onboard one his planes, these guys operate Irans old airplanes with such expertise it’s impressive!
In this video the Captain is seated to the right in the cockpit. Usually the Captain sits on the left seat. This was a special seating just for me. 😊 The jumpseat is behind the Captain's seat, and offers better filming view of the First Officer's seat. So they swithced for filming purposes. The Captain is also an instructor 👍 The video was filmed back in 2010. Question: Have you had the pleasure of flying a B727 ?? Please leave a comment below if you have! 👇
Curious if you can tell me why the crew didnt use headsets? As a professional pilot, I use a headset and most airlines if not all require their pilots to wear a headset. Is this a special policy that Iran Air has or is it a crew members choice to use or not use the headest?
Love the fact that the Captain chose to hand fly the approach from 5300 feet! Keep those stick and rudder skills sharp. It showed on the landing, smooth! Great job Captain and glad your showing the example of hand flying the airplane as much as possible in the day of automation. We have to remain sharp as pilots for when the automation becomes overwhelmed and or fails.

i bought the DVD in 2009, i m a fan of Captain Rahimian , the most impressive is all the 727's check list is in his brain memory , thank you Viking Aviation , i think this is the best flight ever that i have seen
Männer bleibt gedund god bless you
@@VikingWings I sure did, again, much appreciated brother. I hope you can get an opportunity to go to Iran again to get footage of some of the non ancient airbuses :) I know though, not as fun as being in a classic haha :D
The plane is now retired and parked at Mehrabad after more than 4 decades. A very nostalgic video for me as I have been flying on this bird (and its sisters EP-IRS, and EP-IRP which had a tragic crash in 2011) a few times and know very well the sense of departing from Mehrabad early in the morning as a passenger. Please share more videos of Iran Air in case you still have some :)
Would’ve love to have seen that butter landing from the outside, especially given how long Capt Rahimian held that nose off. B727 was and remains my fav air carrier type. Awesome vid.
No, check the pinned comment above. They switched seating for me, so I could film and get a better view of Captain Rahimian. As he was an instructor it worked out. Super! 👍
Such a misinformed comment. I fly the A320 and the day before yesterday I disconnected autopilot at 8000 ft and flew a visual approach all manual. You can even fly the 727 to very low altitudes with the autopilot engaged (it can even do automatic landings). Autopilot has not evolved much since the 60s. So, automation has always been there. It is not right to blame the aircraft for the laziness of some pilots.
@@anasmaaz5731 Do you know how many ex Airbus pilots crashed a Boeing 737 in the sim? You totally lose your flying skills when are flying an Airbus for many years. Of course, even a monkey can a fly a visual approach on an Airbus.

I am particularly enthusiastic about the radio discipline. Everything is great in English. Some european countries can learn from this.
Yes, only a few contries worldwide don't do this... France being one of them...

Both are pilots. However, one is the one in charge. This is not uncommon in Iran.

@@Ryanboy2020 many times in the 727 and the MD80 versions they don't use headset, simply because they don't need them due to the silent cockpit.
@@VikingWings Oh cool. Didnt know that. Thanks for answering.
I’ve had the pleasure of flying the 727 from all three seats. Really a great airplane. Those were the good ole days.

So very true. Handflying is a skill that needs practice. Love it when I see Pilots do it. Cheers!

I can only agree. Fantastic country and so friendly people.
Beautiful landings by the Iranian pilots in every video I've watched
True, and on all the flights I've made with them.. 👍
Love it! That was a man's airplane, not that fly by wire flying computers today. 727 was reliable and strong like a tug boat. Beautiful landing.

What airline is flying all those TU-154's?
My god a 727 flying still in 2021, feel so bad for the Iran Air pilots and passengers...
No, this video was filmed back in 2010 as written in the description.
How did you get your ratings? What steps did you have to take to be accepted? Were you flying for Air Force?
Let's see if any of the pilots can answer that.
Second part please
All in due time... :-)

It's a classic 👍👌
Looks like a Russian made plane.
It's made in Renton, Washington state in the USA, has advanced wings, a pilot's favorite :)
