Vandaler from vandal hearts 1. Secret class you got for the main character Ash was OP beyond belief. So it was a strategy RPG like Final Fantasy Tactics with some twists. First there was a rock scissors thing where different classes had advantages over others, the Vandaler ignored that. Second, any class that used a shield had a small chance to block an attack from the front, the Vandaler had like a 95% chance to block all attacks from the front and both sides and was only vulnerable from behind. Third, the Vandaler knew every spell in the game. Literally every spell including all the enemy spells. Fourth, the Vandaler for some reason had every item in the game as a spell and an infinite amount of casts. So the item that heals your entire party full or the item that attacks every enemy no matter the distance, yeah infinite of those. Basically the second you unlocked him, he would solo every battle from then on.
For Xenoblade Chronicles 3, don't forget that Fiona herself, the Hero you get the signifer class from, also has an amazing Chain Order, which pretty much almost always guarantees an uroborus chain attack and gives very little reason to pick any other hero over her.
the Disgaea series has a lot of fun broken stuff but in almost every game Valvatorez shows up in he is a game breaker. Especially his Tyrant class from Disgaea 4 which not only has the power to steal stats from defeated enemies, makes every weapon he equips 50% stronger, and when he defeats an enemy he also can revive them as allies. A terrifying man indeed
Nice vids! I binged these Top 10 Brokens and it's always nice to learn more about wild things I'm not as familiar with. Idea: Top 10 Broken JRPG Spells I got one in particular that was so broken on its first iteration, it was nerfed to never be as good for the rest of the series. Lufia and the Fortress of Doom/Lufia 1 - Mirror Single targeting might be the ONLY weakness the spell had; In exchange for not being able to cover every party member all at once, the target gets coated in the only smart magic reflecting spell. Is the enemy casting a hostile spell? Boing, reflected back at them, no problem. You want an ally to cast a heal or buff? Go right ahead. Mirror will NOT block friendly spells! No casting a heal spell off an enemy mirror to get healed! It's fantastic, cheap, and works wonderfully. Hard to beat this.
I think most of the classes in South Park were broken. I went with the mage and got this badge thing that restored MP every time I did fire damage. The mage's fire spell hits multiple times and restores MORE MP than it costs. That allowed me to spam my strongest spells without worrying about MP cost because I could just restore it all while still dealing damage.
Summoners from fire emblem sacred stones. They gain exp as they summon foot soldiers to bait out enemies to start defeating them. And they could use dark magic which is broken itself Robin from fire emblem awakening. Him and Morgan have access to spells and swords while also actually being able to use the levin sword greatly. Dark mage line as well as the heal vengeance combo is busted. Now imagine robin and tharja being paired and getting two more kids that can use both classes. Tokyo mirage sessions tharja and kiria again. I grinded the weapons for skills and kiria was the only one who didn't lose any good skills or magic due to most being able to buff themselves up. It's actually very strong. Codename steam robin from Fe awakening. Dude as range for days and his magic can counter enemies who approach as well. Robin is always busted. Rita from tales of vesperia with her speed magic and whirlpool to get every foe on the map. Cheria from tales of graces who is busted and can stop time as well as heal at a high speed and aoe magic. Pokemon Aegislash if he counts. Can shift between attack and defense with priority moves that make him unstoppable. Valkyria Chronicles 4. Crymaria and the other Valkyria. So busted with little way to damage them and can rush maps with easy. Perfect counter too.
I always thought that the Summoner in Sacred Stones was one of the best classes, since it can summon phantoms, heal, and use dark magic. Only two party members in the entire army can become Summoners though; Ewan, who is also your only source of a Druid, a great class in itself since they can use all forms of magic, and thus Ewan should take that class, and Knoll, who has the worst luck stat in the game and thus the highest chance of being critical attacked by an enemy. I figure if you can keep Knoll in the backlines healing and summoning, his terrible luck stat isn't even an issue, so the class is still great, and Knoll can make it work.
@@SoulConstruct that's just babysitting and slow grow. Ewan is only useful for grinding but by then you'd probably finish the game with the time you waste. Especially compared to hatchet boy who starts with your weaker units early on and can get enough grind without stopping the game to be a heavy hitter especially when axe units are hard to come by. Magic users just seal up a healer who already is getting early levels and that's fine. Knoll being a healer would still leave him easy to knock down and early summon is fine but you'd have better magic users by that time. He's more of a gimmick than actually useful in most of my playthroughs.
I'd rather have more definite characters w/skills and spells than blank slates w/job system IF those definite characters have their own selection of classes, it's acceptable to a degree I just want to rush through those J/RPGs instead of wasting HOURS dicking around in the job system cause I know a LOT of classes tend to suck balls Also, for those definite characters w/selectable classes, I simply go with their strengths stat wise to make them even more powerful that way
@martinde-serres8724 I agree but also think players should have the option to change a characters class or job to fit their play style in my humble opinion
I love that but ONLY if they use the Dragon Quest 6 or 7 method total battles or FF5's method AP gain and NOT the SP system that Dragon quests 8 to 11 have.
Great list. I really like how OP Bleu is in BoF 1 and 2. I remember her being able with T bolt making 400 damage way before any character in that game. One mage I miss was Raine in ToS. As she is invaluable plus making both ray and prism star one of the hardest magics in the game :)
Mages in Tales of Arise Ok, so there's a CP system to limit how much healing you can do......nothing's stopping your offensive magic. Shionne, Dohalim and especially Rinwell can just sit back firing powerful magic in the backline and deleting most enemies. Rinwell gets special mention because she can get skills that reduce the cast time of her magic meaning you can suddenly cast things like Tornado in a couple of seconds. Honestly controlling rinwell in the back and firing off spells while the AI keeps the enemies distracted is easy mode.
Diseaga 2 could fit here. Send a mage through is paces to learn all elemental spells, including star magic, then run through cleric to learn healing spells, then turn into female ninja, and you have a wicked fast unit that can zip around the map, hit foes like a Mack truck, dodging almost *EVERYTHING* the enemy can throw, and can heal, buff, debuff all in one unit? Get a party of 10 of these, and you have a win all fights button easy. (Make sure they have the best gear to ramp things up from 10 to 11)
Not optimal at all. Kunoichi and Thief can do the debuffing without reaching lv100. If your dedicated damage dealer has to use their turn to sleep an enemy, all that grinding is useless on that turn. Magic Knights are the best damage dealers. Low-ish level Magic Knights are good buffers/debuffers. Don't use your maxed MKnight to element break your target, use a lv 60 one to do it and then blast him with your high level one. Since you have to farm felonies to grind a characters and those can't be passed like statisticians, you don't want to spend hours farming felonies to just steal consciousness, use MinMinMin, Buff with Braveheart/Magic Boost or Element Break.
Omg the amount of times the Chemist has saved my butt on my FJ4 playthrough, and because I chose the PS1 port the exploit of being able to berserk bosses even if they're immune due to blessed kiss :)
Great list Loclo! Adept did get nerfed after Mass Effect 1. But Sentinel was 0P in Mass Effect 3. Combined with the Dragon Age looking armor which reduced biotic time. Equip yourself with the best pistol and the game. And max out throw to where it can hit two separate targets or hit one target twice. You have high damaging, rapid biotic slinging, almost unkillable tank. Sentinel class has ability where you can cast long lasting armor on your character.
If i recall, solo Ramaza runs in OG the tactics had him a calculator by the 3rd or 4th battle. If you were able to do that with Blk mage meteor and Wht mage holy, then you were set for the whole run.
These are some crazy ones for sure! That Calculator.... what? Not sure if it is Top 10, but honorable mention definitely to Arcane Warrior Mage specialization in Dragon Age: Origins. This class allows Mages to wear armor, and its main Combat Magic allows Mages to use Spellpower to calculate damage from physical weapons like Swords or Bows. It also has the Shimmering Shield that grants even more protection, and extra level ups allow Combat Magic to get extra damage, a chance to dodge more, and more chance to hit. It's basically a mage tank specialization. The broken thing about Arcane Warrior is not necessarily AW itself, but you get two specializations and if your second is Spirit Healer or Blood Mage, it is dumb. Imagine being able to tank with big armor and good dodge chance, cast powerful spells, all while you can heal or revive your part (If your second is Spirit Healer) or while being able to abuse ridiculous AoE spells and turn your HP into its own Mana pool for additional bs (Blood Mage). Essentially, Arcane Warrior is balanced on its own because it mostly is defensive and is used for tanking mostly, but combine that tanking with either healing or offense, you get way too much utility for a single character. Keep in mind in the DLC Awakening, you get a THIRD specialization, that expands into 2 further Mage specializations that add more offensive utility. It's ridiculously fun though, and while I want it in future DA games again, I understand why it isn't due to it being very hard to balance.
I always enjoy these lists. I like when you go into the details of job classes like this. I'm surprised that for X-2 you didn't bring up Mascot or that Psychic can give itself immunity to all damage not just elemental absorption with abilities like excellence.
I believe almost every class in etrian is broken or op if you build them right or paired with the right party. Medic is just a surprising one cuz no one expects the healer to do big damage.
I'd add in an honourable mention to the online FFXI MMO job Beastmaster back in the day when that game upped it's level cap from 75>80 (and eventually to 99 over the period of several updates.) They added in new 'jug' pets for the job. But gave them ridiculously overpowered stats. Turning the Beastmaster from a semi-annoying solo job for people who disliked the party aspect of the game, into a total monster in the instanced boss battles for quests/MSQ etc. God forbid you stacked in more Beastmasters. It turned the game totally on it's head for a couple of years. Leading to mardy players who didn't like the fact that almost of the game's content could now basically be solo-ed with the Beastmaster crying on the official forums for nerfs. Which half happened over the years. If not totally.
#1 Calculator's Math Skill at Sand Rat's Cellar? How would you get past Weigraf? If you spend too much time unlocking things early on, the enemies level to you, and you can't unlock good gear yet. That guy gets nearly impossible. I've found that if you over-develop your characters, you can make some monks and at least it's like you've got a weapon up to his level, but it's still a headache. I feel like its better to avoid training in that game until you kill him. Maybe it's just me, but I've turned him into the hardest boss in the game trying to unlock junk early.
Only random battle enemies level with you. Story enemies levels are fixed. Also if you get your level up into the 60s human enemies will start spawning in random battles even on chapter 1. So you can get maxed out equipment that way.

To be precise, the protagonists of DQ 3 , 4 , 8 and 11. the "hero" job is probably number one but considering you have to master every OTHER job to get it, maybe not? hmmm "hero" is only number 9? now im quite interested.
@@mrp1234 basically every keves healer can set aurole, resonant flag and ring of roses as master arts to become a better signifier. Lapidarist has really good skills such as a party wide crit rate and damage boost, allowing 4 fields to exist and an Aoe heal whenever they crit. An art with Aoe fast recharge. In conclusion it buffs up the party by merely existing, is a signifier that can spam arts way faster giving out more buffs while healing more.
EO1 medic so good especially in the remaster since you can get an insanely cheap out of battle partywide full heal Lol i shouldve finished the vid first you mentioned it 🤣🤣🤣
I'm sorry but to put Chemist even remotely on here is a sham, it requires you to abuse bugs to ACTUALLY be good in FF5. If you want to say otherwise be my guest but know that not only by mid game are you not doing only 500 damage, but Ranger exists in there too and unlike Chemist doesn't straight up break the enemy AI to work well. Anybody who's played 5 knows why I bring up Ranger. Rikku in FFX also does it, but nowhere to the same degree as 5 (she only does it to Penance) so it doubly doesn't belong here, it breaks enemy AI due to bugs in the two prominent times it was in mainline FF.
Have to disagree with some entries on this list. 10 angela is not broken for 2 reasons 1) she is terrible for the first half of the game where you have little magic and terrible sustain 2) on expert difficulty enemies get massive mdef to nerf her into the ground. Adept is broken in me1 but so is every other biotic class as well as soldier. Now soldier in me2 stands heads above everyother class. Most broken class in bravely default is the red mage. Ot has a passive that gives the user +3bp when they are inflicted with a status effect. So you have a red mage brave 3 time and cast party wide poison on the party 3 times then esuna. This gives every party member 9bp per round which is completely broken. Signifer is actually outclassed by every keves healer as signifiers best arts are its master arts and ring of roses is also a master art. lapidarist is actually the best healer. The most broken class in xenoblade is fmj for obvious reasons.
I personally disagree with you on Angela. The shop items that do spells do scale of player INT and stats. Angela can spam items at 0 MP cost early on for huge damage. Also, Expert Difficulty is the only one that the MDEF thing applies to. To say that because one difficulty out of at least 5 (I might be forgetting one or two of 'em) counters her makes her not broken seems kinda weird especially when it's not even the "hardest" difficulty. Honestly though, even if Angela didn't have items to spam early game I'd still she's worth bringing because to say that she's not great during the easiest part of the game is kinda like... so what? I also think that for ME2 Sentinel is up there with Soldier.
@@TenchiHawkwing I'm not saying Angela is bad (except on expert) I think she is good but she is not broken. I will turn around around your point sure Angela is very powerful (late game) on easy, normal and hard but those difficulties are a cakewalk so it's kind of like ...so what. On expert and no future Hawkeye is far and away the best character (rogue for expert and nomad for no future). Now on no future she is easily second best because any amount of fragility she has does not matter and she deals good damage. Finally I feel she has the hardest tier 4 class quest which if you don't take her you do not have to do. ME2 sentinel is the second best class but soldier is far ahead of it. Heightened adrenaline rush with the mattock does silly damage to the point where you drop the final boss in a single cycle nothing can really compare to it.
Signifier was....good. But it wasn't the best class in the game. That went to Soulhacker because it required a time sink to acquire spells, and no joke allowed you to beat bosses in mere minutes.
Just started video and Angela is strong she is not the most broken from trails of mana Kevin and duran both have jobs that can 1 shot almost all bosses on the right jobs. Kevin's dark dark path and durans dark light path are pure destroyers
Wyverns in Radiant Dawn are near perfect units only being weak to lol lightning. Any time Fire Emblem gives freedom to reclass, the game usually becomes a wyvern fest because the devs don't know how design maps for players who deploy more than one wyvern. The class is so good throughout the series that even Rosado is passable. I would also put Valkyria Chronicles 1 scouts in because the game doesn't do much to stop you from charging a single scout forward and capturing the enemy base.
Calculator is so insane Square Enix banned it for some of their game modes.
Squaresoft: If we just make the class slow, it'll be fair right?

the "hero" job is probably number one but considering you have to master every OTHER job to get it, maybe not?
hmmm "hero" is only number 9? now im quite interested.
Yup. Calculator for the win.
Can you make a video ranking all the party members in Persona 3 Reload and Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed?
Archmage is easily Angela's best class.
me: Signifer? is Signifer coming? Signifer better be on here
(I was happy)
also as a Jew, uh, I'm glad for the representation I guess lol
Haha are you super effective vs Nazis?
@@locloudanerpg I'd like to think so!
Signifer is not even that broken as it is outclassed by lapidarist. Keves healers are just better.
@@_Sinduss never played Lapidarist so I can't say
@@mrp1234 basically every keves healer can set aurole, resonant flag and ring of roses as master arts to become a better signifier. Lapidarist has really good skills such as a party wide crit rate and damage boost, allowing 4 fields to exist and an Aoe heal whenever they crit. An art with Aoe fast recharge.
In conclusion it buffs up the party by merely existing, is a signifier that can spam arts way faster giving out more buffs while healing more.
@5:50
Equippedable? Equiptable? What is this word?
EO1 medic so good especially in the remaster since you can get an insanely cheap out of battle partywide full heal
Lol i shouldve finished the vid first you mentioned it 🤣🤣🤣
I got you!
True but most it’s utility was in the post game, so I went with Signifier.
Who's the chick with spikey purple hair???? On the thumbnail
Thats the original artwork for Angela.
There is no kill like overkill.
Yes, Mathematician is the correct answer and not even close.
did you say "Trigger Happy" like that to get people to comment about it
@@SwordSaint892 nope, I’m just an idiot.
I think the Wizard from Bravely Second could rival the Spiritmaster?
I'd agree with that. I'm working on a Bravely Second list.
How about the opposite? "Top 10 WORST classes and jobs in RPGs"
Love it
90% of the instances of a "Berserker" class sadly.
Berserker class is STILL usable in FF5 Umaro even at lv 99 in FF6 is NOT.
Just started video and Angela is strong she is not the most broken from trails of mana Kevin and duran both have jobs that can 1 shot almost all bosses on the right jobs. Kevin's dark dark path and durans dark light path are pure destroyers
Sorry but calling them "X and X-2" instead of the correct "10 and 10-2" is a pet peeve of mine. :P

Get out
Wyverns in Radiant Dawn are near perfect units only being weak to lol lightning.
Remember this, kid. Learn math. 😂
