What people failed to realize that this is mostly Discord’s fault. He hypnotize Fluttershy , he tormented everyone. Yes, the others did pressurized Fluttershy which led Discord to do all the things. But remember: the others weren’t there when Discord was bonding with Fluttershy and making her happy. The last time they saw Discord was imprisoning three princesses (one of them was pregnant.), hurt multiple ponies, and turning Canterlot into his chaos playground.
Even people blames Fluttershy's friends instead Discord; C'mon, guys, don't you remember that he doesn't let Flutters to see her friends and only let it bcuz of his wedding plans?
I had forget that *HE* was the one who made Flutters to tell her friends about the wedding. What's scary that I started to have dark thoughts on it, like he wanted to Flutters and her friends had a fight so she doesn't wanna see them ever again but it seems his plan kinda failed when Flutters said she doesn't loves him. The most creepy to think it'll make Discord a total toxic person which it makes the yanderes less toxic than him.
Honestly I look back at this fic because it shows a pretty accurate depiction of what victims of abuse go through, but it romanticizes the relationship to where it feels like it’s written from the point of view of the abuser, watching over the abused. I want a new fic that actually depicts their canonical marriage, not one that romanticizes abuse like this. It’s kinda disrespectful to Discord and Fluttershy as characters. This fic makes her actually seem weak and not nearly as intelligent as she actually is. It also makes discord never grow as a character.
I mean, it ends better as discord changes, it shows me that people can Change but abuse is abuse. Discord’s best decision had to be distancing himself from her, and realistically that’s where it should’ve ended for them both to get help. Really toxic vibes but great entertainment for fiction!

After reading a lot of fan fictions that include manipulation, emotional manipulation, and/or Stockholm syndrome (guilty pleasure. what can I say), I think I can safely say this fic unfortunately crosses that line. First time watching this episode I cried, but now I've just been seeing the parallels between those fics and this one, especially in this episode. The only difference I suppose would be when it comes to intention, but that doesn't mean that that excuses Discord. This especially saddens me because this audio drama was what got me to start shipping Fluttershy and Discord within the show.

Rewatching this series after all this time really shows that Discord and Fluttershy didn't have a healthy relationship at first, and yes Discord was the reason for it despite his attempts to make things right This series really does well in showing how a toxic relationship can look normal along with showing how a good relationship can work Although Twilight and her friends aren't innocent either, they did pressure Fluttershy into saying that she didn't love Discord and they also were incredibly mean about Discord despite the whole fact that he was actually trying to be a good guy. So in my eyes, neither side is really in the right or wrong
aaand Fluttershy was also at fault by using discord's kindness to get close to her friends and SHOULD'VE known most of her friends are going to react in a negative way. hell even Discord knew most of them don't like him anyway because of his past actions. her 1st idea was better. to go alone and come back. bringing her friends over was a bad idea and discord knows it. but what can I say? most people think an idea of a romance story is to add in annoying unnecessary extra drama. rainbow and rarity are the most cringy characters in this fan fic. sure they soon knock off there crap at the end. but both caused so much damage to the point to really call them "good" friends now. for hell sakes Rainbow know Fluttershy from childhood and she's pressuring her this hard? off character if you ask me for a sake on and I quote "unnecessary drama" in the story.

Discord probably became a villain because he just wanted to be chaotic. Chaos is unpredictable, but can be manipulative but not directly abusive. Chaos isn’t abuse, but can other people to become abusive, like how discord turned the main six into their opposites. He didn’t directly harm them, but instead caused them to harm themselves. It’s more like autism. Discord definitely has a high functioning Autism, he, like me, would never be able to think of starting a relationship with someone without some serious signals from the other partner. You can see in his character that he has trouble reading people and interacting with them. He’s more of a creative smart guy. he doesn’t know what’s going on but can solve problems once someone tells him what’s happening. When left unguided it leads to bad choices, which is why he was a villain. I have this same autism. My argument is that he would never be able to realize he’s in love without someone pointing it out for him, like Spike and Big Mac. So in a universe where he never reformed like he did in the canonical universe, he would never think to ask for a bride without someone giving him that idea, he could read a book and maybe get the idea, but I don’t think he reads romance (if someone can confirm this that would be nice). He’d probably ask for a servant, or even a friend which would start another path of reform. And It would take an incredibly long time for him to finally realize, like a year to process the information.

I like how the party’s music is an instrumental of Lady Gaga’s bad romance. To quote Wikipedia: “Gaga explained that she generally felt lonely when she was involved in a relationship and that she was attracted to men with whom romance never works. "Bad Romance" explores her preference for such lonely relationships and her poor choice in men.“ Not sure if that’s the reason Disneyfanatic chose it but it’s a cute attention to detail.
Honestly, this should have been about the tragedy of abusive relationships, and yet, it was a love story. This could have worked as the tragedy of abusive relationships in every way, if it wasn't confirmed it was a love story people would probably think that. I know the writer isn't the same writer they were 8 years ago, I am just saying how this story could be used to spread awareness and yet can't because of how it glorifies it. It isn't a good thing nor a cute thing like the writer once thought, it is just a sad representation of one of the many heroes today, the difference between beauty and the beast and bride of discord is that beauty and the beast respected boundaries, he learned from his mistakes and tried to fix them, discord however was the exact opposite. I love BoD and it holds a place in my heart, but I hate how it romanticizes abusive relationships and makes discord a bad character. Honestly if he respected fluttershys boundaries and learned from his mistakes and didn't manipulate her it would be a better story in the context of love.
oddly enough almost every main character is toxic. I look at the "romance" and "friendship" in this. also this is not just a beauty and the beast but also another story mixed in this. discord wasn't the only bad character in this if you think about it. rarity mostly thinks about appearance. sure she did long ago in the cannon show. but never this hard. applejack fall in love with a freaking baby and expects that baby to understand what love really is. I don't need to say how bad rainbow is because is right there in are faces. Fluttershy used Discord's kindness to see her friends and knowing full well what her friends reaction well be like once they know she's going to get married to discord. like girl you can deal with a week away from your friends. everyone can do it. the whole timeline was just a month. sooo everyone just need to chill. yes I get her friends were not there to see that Discord has changed. but there's no excuse to react THIS hard. that part didn't make sense. because the fact they were happy to see fluttershy and enjoying the party. even having fun with Discord for a moment. than the next "oh yeah we were supposed to hate him.". like he keep his word setting everything back to normal. than didn't hurt anypony in the party. but out of no where they just forget he was being friendly and wasn't insulting anypony? Dude, spoiler alert, would ya? [facepalming]. It's good I read the fanfic... Telling, that someone fell in love with a changeling (*especially* with a shapeshifting, suddenly to be revealed one all along changeling!), is a sure way to destroy the purpose of a work of fiction! Even if the changeling isn't disguised for some reason, revealing someone's falling in love is still a reveal, when no one ever asks "so what's next and how did it get resolved?"
Oh yeah... Though that's why I'm still a bit unsure about this coupling. Considering the original is about lusting after a woman who is of the race that’s being oppressed and the mlp version is about being possessive of someone to the point the girls friends are on the line? Even forfeiting her own freedom and free will in front of her friends to ensure it? Yeah you can see why I don’t ship these two. I get the beauty and the beast angle but beast never really did anything to hurt belle. He yelled at her and scared her once but that’s it. Big kicker was probably the lack of power the beast had. He couldn’t create a magical barrier to stop belle from leaving. He couldn’t just poof her in and out of her room. Beast had relinquish that control if anything good going was to happen. But for most of Bride of Discord? Discord kinda comes off as an abuser. He kept treating fluttershy’s affections as a prize to be won or an object buy. It shows discord as the one in complete control of the area. Of his situation. And in a way? Of fluttershy. I think that’s what sours bride of discord’s ending for me. But i am glad that discord does actually care enough to let fluttershy go. That to me proved he actually cared about her. That he WANTS to change because he cares. I just wish we got to see the rest of his changes and efforts to make amends. So while I like the series? It’s most for reference fun and the music. The story is ok though I wouldn’t say for romantic reasons. Over? 7 outta 10 would and have watch again

Everyone says that episode 8 is their favorite, but this is my favorite because sh*t pops off. I love the high drama. I love that Discord loves Fluttershy so much that he wanted her by any means necessary. The only thing I have a bit of a problem with is how the Mane 6 acted towards Fluttershy when they were badgering her. Rarity was out of character to me, and Pinkie during the whole fight sequence seemed like a flanderized version of herself. But aside from that, everyone else was great. I love how Sweetie Belle was all for Fluttercord, and I love how understanding Applejack was in this episode. Also, I love how the Mane 6 were ready to leave her with Discord and do Celestia knows what to her lol. Great episode DF. It will forever be my favorite.

This is honestly the best Bride of Discord episode yet. I feel like the characters are more alive in this episode. The song was much better then the one from episode 8. The plot is twisted and filled with so much drama. It brought tears to your audience. The long wait paid off when the episode was put out. Discord hitting Fluttershy really made the plot change and twist. The art is mind blowing in this episode. Your new artists are truly talented. What people failed to realize that this is mostly Discord’s fault. He hypnotize Fluttershy , he tormented everyone. Yes, the others did pressurized Fluttershy which led Discord to do all the things. But remember: the others weren’t there when Discord was bonding with Fluttershy and making her happy. The last time they saw Discord was imprisoning three princesses (one of them was pregnant.), hurt multiple ponies, and turning Canterlot into his chaos playground.
Even people blames Fluttershy's friends instead Discord; C'mon, guys, don't you remember that he doesn't let Flutters to see her friends and only let it bcuz of his wedding plans?
I had forget that *HE* was the one who made Flutters to tell her friends about the wedding.
What's scary that I started to have dark thoughts on it, like he wanted to Flutters and her friends had a fight so she doesn't wanna see them ever again but it seems his plan kinda failed when Flutters said she doesn't loves him.
The most creepy to think it'll make Discord a total toxic person which it makes the yanderes less toxic than him.
Honestly I look back at this fic because it shows a pretty accurate depiction of what victims of abuse go through, but it romanticizes the relationship to where it feels like it’s written from the point of view of the abuser, watching over the abused.
I want a new fic that actually depicts their canonical marriage, not one that romanticizes abuse like this. It’s kinda disrespectful to Discord and Fluttershy as characters. This fic makes her actually seem weak and not nearly as intelligent as she actually is. It also makes discord never grow as a character.

This fanfiction and daughter of discord are actually considered to be one of the best fanfics out there
After reading a lot of fan fictions that include manipulation, emotional manipulation, and/or Stockholm syndrome (guilty pleasure. what can I say), I think I can safely say this fic unfortunately crosses that line. First time watching this episode I cried, but now I've just been seeing the parallels between those fics and this one, especially in this episode. The only difference I suppose would be when it comes to intention, but that doesn't mean that that excuses Discord. This especially saddens me because this audio drama was what got me to start shipping Fluttershy and Discord within the show.

Rewatching this series after all this time really shows that Discord and Fluttershy didn't have a healthy relationship at first, and yes Discord was the reason for it despite his attempts to make things right
This series really does well in showing how a toxic relationship can look normal along with showing how a good relationship can work
Although Twilight and her friends aren't innocent either, they did pressure Fluttershy into saying that she didn't love Discord and they also were incredibly mean about Discord despite the whole fact that he was actually trying to be a good guy.
So in my eyes, neither side is really in the right or wrong

They're all at fault, so while out of character, it is still pretty interesting
And besides, Fluttershy was very lonely and wanted to find some kind of middle ground for her request, despite how flawed it got

The chocolate milk rain at the end for his sadness was a perfect touch. Using your established lore so subtly really brings it all together

Along with the inaccuracy of Pinkie’s depression, and how everyone treats it makes me mad.
Discord probably became a villain because he just wanted to be chaotic. Chaos is unpredictable, but can be manipulative but not directly abusive. Chaos isn’t abuse, but can other people to become abusive, like how discord turned the main six into their opposites. He didn’t directly harm them, but instead caused them to harm themselves.
It’s more like autism. Discord definitely has a high functioning Autism, he, like me, would never be able to think of starting a relationship with someone without some serious signals from the other partner. You can see in his character that he has trouble reading people and interacting with them. He’s more of a creative smart guy. he doesn’t know what’s going on but can solve problems once someone tells him what’s happening. When left unguided it leads to bad choices, which is why he was a villain.
I have this same autism. My argument is that he would never be able to realize he’s in love without someone pointing it out for him, like Spike and Big Mac. So in a universe where he never reformed like he did in the canonical universe, he would never think to ask for a bride without someone giving him that idea, he could read a book and maybe get the idea, but I don’t think he reads romance (if someone can confirm this that would be nice). He’d probably ask for a servant, or even a friend which would start another path of reform. And It would take an incredibly long time for him to finally realize, like a year to process the information.

Honestly, this should have been about the tragedy of abusive relationships, and yet, it was a love story. This could have worked as the tragedy of abusive relationships in every way, if it wasn't confirmed it was a love story people would probably think that. I know the writer isn't the same writer they were 8 years ago, I am just saying how this story could be used to spread awareness and yet can't because of how it glorifies it. It isn't a good thing nor a cute thing like the writer once thought, it is just a sad representation of one of the many heroes today, the difference between beauty and the beast and bride of discord is that beauty and the beast respected boundaries, he learned from his mistakes and tried to fix them, discord however was the exact opposite. I love BoD and it holds a place in my heart, but I hate how it romanticizes abusive relationships and makes discord a bad character. oddly enough almost every main character is toxic. I look at the "romance" and "friendship" in this. also this is not just a beauty and the beast but also another story mixed in this. discord wasn't the only bad character in this if you think about it. rarity mostly thinks about appearance. sure she did long ago in the cannon show. but never this hard. applejack fall in love with a freaking baby and expects that baby to understand what love really is. I don't need to say how bad rainbow is because is right there in are faces. Fluttershy used Discord's kindness to see her friends and knowing full well what her friends reaction well be like once they know she's going to get married to discord. like girl you can deal with a week away from your friends. everyone can do it. the whole timeline was just a month. sooo everyone just need to chill. yes I get her friends were not there to see that Discord has changed. but there's no excuse to react THIS hard. that part didn't make sense. because the fact they were happy to see fluttershy and enjoying the party. even having fun with Discord for a moment. than the next "oh yeah we were supposed to hate him.". like he keep his word setting everything back to normal. than didn't hurt anypony in the party. but out of no where they just forget he was being friendly and wasn't insulting anypony? Fluttershy's 1st idea was better. to go alone and come back. bringing her friends over was a bad idea. buuuut than again now I think about it. they would've think he just mind controlling her. just because she tries to convince them he's not really a evil creature everypony thinks he is. but than again Fluttershy never really trust him and also can't really make up her mind she actually cares or not. my point is almost everyone's a mess and half of this ep was just unnecessary drama. all they needed to do was sit and talk. lastly Celestia should've known better on calling Discord cold and heartless. because of the fact they were friends before in this reality. didn't make sense to me.

Telling, that someone fell in love with a changeling (*especially* with a shapeshifting, suddenly to be revealed one all along changeling!), is a sure way to destroy the purpose of a work of fiction! Even if the changeling isn't disguised for some reason, revealing someone's falling in love is still a reveal, when no one ever asks "so what's next and how did it get resolved?"

Considering the original is about lusting after a woman who is of the race that’s being oppressed and the mlp version is about being possessive of someone to the point the girls friends are on the line? Even forfeiting her own freedom and free will in front of her friends to ensure it? Yeah you can see why I don’t ship these two. I get the beauty and the beast angle but beast never really did anything to hurt belle. He yelled at her and scared her once but that’s it. Big kicker was probably the lack of power the beast had. He couldn’t create a magical barrier to stop belle from leaving. He couldn’t just poof her in and out of her room. Beast had relinquish that control if anything good going was to happen.
But for most of Bride of Discord? Discord kinda comes off as an abuser. He kept treating fluttershy’s affections as a prize to be won or an object buy. It shows discord as the one in complete control of the area. Of his situation. And in a way? Of fluttershy. I think that’s what sours bride of discord’s ending for me. But i am glad that discord does actually care enough to let fluttershy go. That to me proved he actually cared about her. That he WANTS to change because he cares. I just wish we got to see the rest of his changes and efforts to make amends. So while I like the series? It’s most for reference fun and the music. The story is ok though I wouldn’t say for romantic reasons. Over? 7 outta 10 would and have watch again

Everyone says that episode 8 is their favorite, but this is my favorite because sh*t pops off. I love the high drama. I love that Discord loves Fluttershy so much that he wanted her by any means necessary. The only thing I have a bit of a problem with is how the Mane 6 acted towards Fluttershy when they were badgering her. Rarity was out of character to me, and Pinkie during the whole fight sequence seemed like a flanderized version of herself. But aside from that, everyone else was great. I love how Sweetie Belle was all for Fluttercord, and I love how understanding Applejack was in this episode. Also, I love how the Mane 6 were ready to leave her with Discord and do Celestia knows what to her lol. Great episode DF. It will forever be my favorite.

This is honestly the best Bride of Discord episode yet. I feel like the characters are more alive in this episode. The song was much better then the one from episode 8. The plot is twisted and filled with so much drama. It brought tears to your audience. The long wait paid off when the episode was put out. Discord hitting Fluttershy really made the plot change and twist. The art is mind blowing in this episode. Your new artists are truly talented. And your voice actors are so realistic, we all feel like we are in the episode. I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say this was an amazing episode. Great job DisneyFanatic2364.
