    Hi Lily I was exposed to the Asian culture through my ex-husband. He had a nanny when his parents lived in Guam and Singapore. It was a blessing to their family to have the nanny. His Mom worked overtime doing mission work. I understood that Nam was blessed to have you and you are blessed to have her. God is blessing your family and Nam in a huge way. Please don't listen to negative people. They are jealous. Also most people don't take the time to learn and understand different cultures. I do wish that I could get good sleep like Wat. I just got woke up early by my cat. Please take care and I pray that you feel encouraged today. You are helping Nam and all of us. Thank you and God Bless!

    I'm so glad you did this video Lilly even though you didn't have to...many North Americans don't understand other cultures and judge..unfortunately many ppl think America's standard of living is The best but look at the stressful lives they live to maintain that. And the lifestyle can't be maintained unless you're wealthy so when you're old they retire to the cheaper countries with a less stressful lifestyle. I'm from the Caribbean and many of us have family nannies who we've helped to get homes so when they retire they have somewhere comfortable. Some nannies even get to travel to other countries if we can get visas for them. I'm sure if Nam could get a passport you'll take her too one day. Living and working in America can be just as hard and the abuse is subtle. Corporate America can be unkind and ppl are afraid of losing their jobs for minor infractions. When you become an executive in corporate America you work more hours than Nam with less fun. There are pros and cons to consider with every nation and culture. The only safe place is In Christ no matter where we live physically. Trust God Lilly and don't worry about the negative criticism... there's a big difference between kind constructive suggestions and mean controlling judgementalism. ❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏

    Lilly, I am from a third world country and it is clear to me that Nam is loved and well taken care of. She also adores your family and you have her as a "sister" for life. The issue with the bed was never something that stood out to me as in my family we always switch around when others come to visit based on what they can manage e.g., some take the bed, some the couch, some the ground and some the blow up beds but you asking Nam to switch came off as nothing to me as I myself can only sleep on beds and soft ones at that. Don't let people affect you! Keep doing what you are doing, helping those who need it, spread the word and raise your family with love, compassion and support! Wishing you a great 2023 Lilly and Fam!!

    This might have been said already in the 1,000 comments, but if eggs are fresh and have never been refrigerated, they last for months on the counter. If they are massed produced and have been washed, then they must be refrigerated. No one can know a life through a 20 minute video, I'm just glad you share those 20 minutes with us. They are so much fun! Americans do not know Thai culture, me included. I do sleep separately from my hubby though, and we adore each other. I just don't adore his snoring and running in his sleep! I know I am late to the party on this video, but your comment on eggs was startling. Having traveled the world I know that eggs that aren't refrigerated are common. However your comment that they are good for "months" is completely false. In fact they are good for right around 2- 3 weeks, no where near "months". On the other side, refrigerated eggs are good for months....so I think you got that info reversed. 🙂

We were expected to have a driver, gardener , housekeeper etc. It was to give jobs to the people there and we paid better than most jobs they could get. We cared a lot about them and respected them. When we move back to Canada they were crying and we were as well. My Dad did make sure they all had jobs with other people before we left. @@asummer9460 my comment had ZERO to do with Lily. The comment was talking about Nam. I lived and worked in Thailand for 3 years in Chiang Mai. Thai people will always smile and never express their true feelings to save face no matter how uncomfortable they are. They don't want to rock the boat or cause conflict. Nam seems happy in front of the cameras but it feels performative. Lily often has to coach or tell Nam to be "happy" whenever the camera is on. She instantly turns on and starts giggling. It feels fake. I can see why Wat stays off camera. He's not going to fake it and perform as a happy dancing Thai to appease to the western viewers who are under the impression they can just move to Thailand and get the locals to do everything for them. Thai people aren't servants.
      Women like Nam don't strive to be nannies ..it's probably the only job she can get. And trust me..they aren't getting paid a lot just because Lily has a big UA-cam channel. If Nam was earning a lot, she would definitely quit and go back to her own country. Farang always take advantage of the locals. I unsubscribed to this channel cause I got tired of seeing her force Nam to be happy on the camera. It's fake. I won't watch anymore content.

    • @asummer9460
      @asummer9460 Рік тому +3

      @@CuratedVibes I think you have a one track mind the way you spoke about farangs taking advantage of Thai people. First of all, Nam is not Thai, she is Burmese and of course she can’t earn a lot because which employer will pay for your housing, food and travel as well as high wages? If she can earn a lot she would not be a live in nanny... she would find a high pay job and live with her son & family in her own country, why would she live in another country and far away from her family and you may be right, Nam may not like to be exposed to the camera and maybe had to smile for the Camera but she knows very well by helping her employer Lilly to earn money on YT, she is also helping herself otherwise Lilly can’t afford to pay her and she would have to find another job. And who knows the other Employer could be abusive to her, could use her more and slavery to her as she needs the money to feed her family in Burma so what’s wrong with that?
      If you could see why she choose to work for Lilly for so many years because she knew Lilly will treat her right and her safety to live with them, Thai is not her country... safety is important for her ie she could be raped, she could be made into brothel, other unthinkable evil out there cuz she is alone in Thai so she knew Lilly & her family well so she has faith to stay with her for so many years. Never assume how she felt...happy nor unhappy because we are not Nam, what u saw is only a moment of her. You subscribed because you wanted to watch Lilly and her family not Nam.. Nam is only an extras in this film production. Get things right and not all westerners are using Thai people because wherever you go whichever country the locals would serve the tourists because they need them for their Economy...so do not condemn with narrow mind. The world is huge to explore and there’s good n bad in every race.

In my opinion, the introvert plays just as an important role in this world. So, I don't think he's miserable, he may be exhausted by being on camera or tired of being "on" all of the time. Some of us need to unplug and reboot. I date an extrovert and I often disappear into the background or choose not to participate because being center stage is not what I want but I don't want to stop those that are into the festivities. So, (((hugs))) to Wat. I also see Nam as a possible introvert as well... IMO, introverts have superpowers and could someday save the world! 😄🤗🤩

      I attend to agree. It could very well be that he felt outsider in the USA. It's common in kids of mixed race to feel a kind of inability to relate to one particular, especially when he is the only one who looks different from the rest. It's quiet early that they can feel isolated from one particular group. Since Lule is looking very Thai, naturally he will feel that Thailand is more comforting than the USA.
      It will probably be the same for Liala, as she too does look very Thai. Whereas Leon is the only one who is looking more of a mixed race.
      My guess that Leon in the future would be more relaxed about his identity.

    Nam is clearly treated as family, but people have to remember that she is also still employed by Lilly; what Nam is doing is a common job to take on for south eastern asians i.e. some filipino women go to the Middle East to be live-in nannies just so they can earn better money and support their family. It's completely reasonable for Lilly to ask Nam if it's okay they switch beds; also, don't underestimate how comforting or how okay it actually is for people to sleep on the floor or on hard beds, especially if it's how they used to sleep at home with family. And from what I've seen watching Lilly's videos, Nam and Lilly seems to have a comfortable and close relationship where Nam seems like she's able to say if she's unhappy with something. The fact that Nam seems happy with Lilly + family and that she finds what she's doing fun/easy is a blessing; and the fact she's employed by people who consider her as family must be such a big help for when she feels lonely, since it seems like her family is in Myanmar. All the best to this family + Nam!
