This is a repost of the "Hirren veistäminen" video, this time with captions in English.
What a work of art. It's amazing what people are capable of doing, using natural products.
Thanks for posting. These skills are just as important as a debris shelter.
I am in the beginning stages of building my own log cabin. I have a site picked out and cleared. My next stage is to cut my logs. I will be documenting my build and when finished next fall I will post as a video response. I am going to find this video very helpful through out the next year. Awsome vid. 5 Stars !!!
Hyvä työ, kiitos paljon lähetyksestä. Terveisin Australian suomesta. Mooses.
beautiful construction, I will consider a house built like this in the future
ive seen other videos where they are building handcrafted homes using similar techniques with chainsaws
If you have an idea now on how big your shed should be, you should more or less have found a location for it. If you do, take measurement of how much space you can take and work on that. You should also be sure that the location is safe and has a good foundation.
very impressive
The Montana School of Log Building has a bulls-eye scriber that marks with a Sharpie pen. It is easier to see the line and it always remains accurate...no shortening pencil problem,
masterpiece, respect! 8-)
its a cabin. building it this way, you can use tools. yeah it does look bad but they only showed the first stages. after completion it looks a little bit better. :)
If you do it this way, it issolates the house better.
WAT YOU DIDNT EVEN CLEAr the ground out to put the logs in level.
ME GUSTA,,SALUDOS,,ALVARO,,ESPAÑA.
buy a much havier hamer to mark the scribes. I would suggest 1,8 kg.
Do you have details of how you built a hexagon log cabin?
Apart from this video, not much remains, sorry.. memory says it was rather laborious. I would probably prefer square corners on the next build
8:48 haha dowel falls behind the guy!!
I was just gonna eyeball it.
how do you figure out where to set the gap for your scribe?
Thank You,
I would assume they measure the widest gap and use that throughout the log.
THINK POWER TOOOOLSSSS
o my good. I am much faster without a chainsaw... And at 6:20 WTF are you doing there? On or Off?!?
Y U NO SPEAK U AV A MIC
what's that with the saw? Absolutly no need for that!
You should fasten your logs with truck belts of 5ton and crush the error.
In my opion. picture here ww w.whi tehorse.be/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/whitehorse-3-110630.jpg
That way you also markt the upper wood to the lower wood and an any air gap.
take a look on my video calling (my cabin in the woods) and comment about one
If you want to build a log cabin, DON'T DO IT LIKE THIS.
log homes are ugly no value.
