Digimon IS a GREAT game. Honestly, I've played so many tcgs and ccgs, and after I dropped MtG, Digimon was there to pick me up. I just got some friends to try it for the first time and they loved it. I do have high hopes for unification and the future.
yeah cant wait for the unification too. Like MTG, card language borders should not exists. I wanna go to Japan to shop for cards and not think that all those cards are irrelevant to me because I cant use them in my deck. One Piece is already legal for mixing different card languages in the same deck in Asia. I hope Digimon follow suit.

One thing to correct here is that for both Weiss and UA you have to remember its an IP driven game so you have to look at what sets launched during those time frames. For context of UA, Demon Slayer, IDOLM@STER, and MHA all were Q1 2023. It's no surprise at all that the 2024 lineup couldn't hold up to these. as someone from the west with no experience of rush duel or ocg, im honestly not surprised that ygo hasn't actually seen any negative spending despite online vitriol or burn out being amplified as of late. ever since takahashi's passing it seems they really have hit the jets on many facets of the game to push and grow it quickly. shame the growth is adding to the pains a lot of players may feel themselves. personally tho i need digimon to get bigger so my locals can justify running it on days i could attend too lmao
ya know what would be sick? If you, Risu, Mario, Karn EX, and StrawberryPi, all got made into commemorative tamer cards celebrating the digimon community and some of the top content producers for the game since its inception. Honestly, that would be sick
It's really hard to Guage weiss year to year like that. Set sales rise and falk based on franchises that gets sets. If q2 had a major release at that time last year but didn't this year then sales would be down.
Yeah Weiss and Union Arena are hard to gauge. They had baller bonkers sets lasty ear around this time, My Hero Academia, which literally outsold all of comics during the pandemic so has a huge followin, Idolmaster which is insanely popular in Japan, Demon Slayer, which is also one of the most talked about anime of recent history. It's no wonder that they couldn't keep up. How do you top that?
Digimon didn't have that huge of a release difference [especially as I expect BT18 might have been stung by the meta and lack of impact EX07 had]; and 1 extra set dosen't account for a 77% rise in sales alone when you have 2 starter decks and a set on the side. And that set wouldn't be fair to say it's BT18; the "extra" was EX07; a side set. And if you want to cope; 2022's stuff had GREYMON on it and GARURUMON. Not these... shoes and birds? Also; there was hype for the new ACE mechanic. tl;dr: While maybe not by 77%... digimon growing.

The problem with only bandai handling digimon IP they so awful on their job like look at the mobile phone game they handle exclusive when bandai jp handle it they really doing sax job at it…
