- With its length of 361 meters, width of 66 meters and height of 72 meters, the Symphony of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships in the world. The 228,081 ton giant has space for more than 6,680 passengers who can enjoy themselves on the longest slide at sea or in one of two surf pools, among other things. The report accompanies the luxury liner on its maiden voyage.

Hmm, sorry, I appreciate terra firma, dirt, forests, rivers and lakes and trees. I like seeing birds, deer and other wildlife in their natural setting.
a lot of cruise ships that are tied up to cities of Alaska ports often dump gray waters into the sea undetected and health authorities found popular beaches in the summer contaminated and often closed to swimmers and beachgoers. and one city reports the beach was closed for two years, newspapers report. Commercial fisherman and sports fisherman also had a poor run that summer.
The ships probably need to dump at some sort of water treatment plant to prevent environmental damage
It was caught on tape in Ketchikan that grey water was discharging in such large volume at the Ketchikan port from one of the cruise ships.
Alaskan Halibut and Salmon were probably the last clean pollution free fish left on our planet and capitalism is wiping that out. Personally why would I leave a city or town that's smaller in population to be stuck on this steel insanity?
This is by far the coolest and most in depth cruise ship documentary! I hope you make more exactly like this for Wonder and Icon of the seas!
Most of the statistics given are demonstrably false and it is ripped off another documentary.
Imagine having to evacuate this ship in an emergency
Well taken care of. The evacuation plan is amazing - 6,300 people can be evacuated in an emergency.
@jereking254 it's good that a plan exists and is practiced regularly but the video didn't say if the ship has a system to counteract listing if the hull should be breached. Listing beyond a certain amount of degrees will make loading rescue boats on the lower side difficult and prevent rescue boats from being lowered safely on the high side so the ship would need some kind of system to pump seawater into tanks on the high side to prevent this issue.
The other issue is panic, which is hard to predict and control. More people are lost because of panic, and having 6,000 guests increases the chances that some will. Plus, this ship is ENORMOUS. A thorough search of the entire ship would be daunting. Hopefully the plan has a method to achieve this quickly.
It is way easier than it sounds. All the crew members have their duties in case of an emergency, and they have drills on every cruise to remind them what to do in an emergency. Everyone onboard is assigned to a lifeboat or raft and all you have to do is show up to your station and you're safe.
Also, the ship has mechanisms that help and give enough time for evacuation. For example, there are water tight doors where when flooding happens, two floors would be submerged, and the ship would still remain afloat.
Imagine a magic incident happening at night, far out at sea, in wintery, cold, stormy, weather.
How would they get all the elderly, disabled, and very young, safely off the ship? 🌊⚰️😢☹️
If that possibility bothers you don’t buy a ticket.
This is basically a city style cruise ship literary
more to come...Wonder of the Seas will be even bigger
@@science-channel I would love to go on that cruise ship
Fascinating film.
If you love cruising you MUST watch this excellent film 🥳🛳️🌊⚓️
Great. Now I know everything I need to build my own
8 days ago ... And ICON is sitting in Ponce PR !! Me thinks Symphony is farther down the "Largest Cruise Ship Ever Built" list now, yes ?? ICON ICON ICON !!!
Wow, I would never go on a ship this big. I go on vacation to get away from as many people as I can. I wouldn't take a free cruise on that ship. Give me a cruise on the smallest ship possible and I will be a happy cruiser. I would hate if something would happen to where we would have to evacuate or a big emergency, It would not be good. No, thank you.
As an old rag sailor I wouldn't go near that monstrosity. The ocean isn't a peaceful place. If it gets nasty, (been there: done that) your big playground will be covered with vomit from the seasick passengers, and if there is a real emergency you have thousands of passengers who don't have a clue. It's another TITANIC looking for a place to happen.
No Thanks
Same. My family has gone on cruises and offered to take me a d I've declined several times. I'm too introverted and would rather just sleep and order room service. 😂
@@The_Baph0met Me too lol. Give me a bed and food and fun on the fun ship and I'm all go 😁
Send one of these to Iceland. For the volcano,
They the hell did the merge two MSC Seaside class ships into one for the clickbait thumbnail😂😂💀
Fascinating!!! Subscribed!!
They should make nuclear cruise ships to save fossile fuel (and yes nuclear is safe - there are 6.000 crew living on aircraft carriers).
Love these videos to see how the ship works and the glorious food served. I have been on a few, but not a royal Caribbean: maybe some day I will get the opportunity.
The big ships suck .. the smaller more affordable ships are where it's at .. the corporate world has gone insane building products a majority of people can't afford.. just look at the car industry they have gone completely bonkers
Dude stop stealing our Thumbanils. You have 24 hours to change the thumbnail or we give you two copyright strikes for both of the videos where you use our thumbnails.
I love yalls channel haha. But yea I’m with you but in case you don’t know unless you/your team took the photos there’s nothing copyright can do which is horrible bc yall took the time to edit and make it your thumbnail but sadly there ain’t good enough laws.
This is one really impressive ship and I loved the narration. Shalom
Realy I like this largest cruise ships
The greatest cattle boat ever to sail the 13 lesser seas.
Why would anyone ever want to pay money to go on one of these things? It's a complete mystery to me.
great video!
This is beyond amazing!
“There are 4000 landscapers that pour 32,000 16 oz bottles of purified water into the irrigation system for the 10,000 sq ft micro ocean park every 10-12 mins around the clock.”😂
I wonder when they will transition to cruise ships that have near-zero carbon ocean operations? Massive containerships are starting the transition using green methanol (because big engines for it are readily available), and other possible fuels include ammonia made via hydrogen electrolysis, or even using hydrogen directly. Maersk received its first green methanol ship this year, it has 25 bigger ones on order for delivery over the next two years, and has secured suppliers for green methanol (arguably the hardest part of this transition). They expect 25% of their ocean operations to be on green methanol by 2030, and other shipping lines are also ordering ships designed for methanol or other near-zero carbon fuels.
It is helpful that the drive train to the propellers (screws?) is already 29:11 electric motors. Perhaps there is also some room for fuel-cell technology (no more combustion), at least for certain auxiliary power requirements.
Cruise companies are entertainment companies not maritime companies. They won’t care about safety or the environment. These ships are due for a major catastrophe and minimum wage earners are gonna save the ships paying vacationers? HA!
That’s a lot of norovirus.
I didn't know The Mall of America floats?
A report on the Wonder of the Seas will also be very welcome.
This is so interesting
Looks like Las Vegas on water!!! Might be cheaper to just go there?
Incredible
I love the park
The Bigger They Build These Floating Cities 🤔 The More Money They Will Charge You plus Set Their Own Rules!
I’m so Glad I Traveled 🧳 Many Destinations before The Prices Now Continue 2 Skyrocket. 😮Just Ridiculous
You forgot to capitalize "plus" and "so". How dare you.
Due to over tourism, many ports are now restricting the number and size of cruise ships.
They bring in crowds of people with relatively little economic return.
This mega ships will only be accepted in very few ports
Much too big with too many people.
Ive come to a conclusion that cruise ships are made to trap guests 😂
be nice if the voice matched what the guy is saying!!
I think the man is actually speaking Russian and the narrator's voice is recorded over it. You can occasionally get a whisper of the Russian words in the background.
Awesome document
Land for humans
Ocean for sea creatures
Human can entertain in land
Cruise ship should be ban
My type of cruise ❤
Big vessel death trap no thanks - human waste etc
Glove shortage?
I will never see my 24 foot sailboat...the same! 😢😢😂😂😂
I assume the ropes are dyneema (high density polyethylene)
What happened to the ship in the clickbait thumbnail, it sunk.....................
31:34 why would he pick up the clean plate then Put it back as if he hasn’t touched every on his path
There must be someway to correct under salted tomato soup
There is............salt.
2:49 The compass and binoculars are not just for show, it's redundancy, what do you do when the GPS is jammed or there is false readings from malicious actors or satellites? When you consider that this is a vessel that carries millions in cargo and priceless with passengers... You would ask your self, in the event something like that happens and you don't have a compass or binoculars that is chump change in cost, it just make sense to have it.
And people say we couldn’t build the pyramids today🤯😤
Man , God is great! and may God continues bless you all for long life Amen but!is look like you forget to show us where the hospital is! !!!
That is just too big for me, give me NCL's Breakaway Class any day.
Cruise ship workers are definitely not well paid so it does not compensate for them not having access to fresh air and sunlight for weeks at a time. that is inhumane.
They choose to work there.
It can still sink…. NOTHING IS UNSINKABLE
i want to work here
All 2000+ crew are trained monthly in the event there is an emergency to help the passengers, yet in the case of the South Korean Sewol ferry disaster, no crew member helped, not even the captain. So sad
hell on earth
no ropes on a ship brother
Where does their sewage go?
The bigger the ship is much stable, can withstood strong sea currents and possible ocean storm
This ship is too too heavy. The math doesn’t math, sorry.
I remember hearing about the accident between the 2 cruise 🛳 ship's. I was surprised that the ship's kept going.
The ship's what?
WOW BEYOND IMAGINATION,ON EMERGENCY HOW OR WHATS THE PLAN😅
Quay is pronounced “key”
the comparison with the area of football pitches is already intellectually subterranean; one more reason to cancel this post!
What do they do with the poops?
Well paid? dont talk bollocks!
❤
Tell us about the amount of fuel this monster pumps into the atmosphere per MINUTES ?
on one end, everyone is crying out loud about gas emissions and resources depleting fast... and on the other end... this,
Is this a reupload? I’ve seen this before a few months ago.
Might very well be, because Symphony of The Seas is actually no longer the largest cruise ship ever built. That title now belongs to Icon of The Seas.
The first video must have sank 😂
@@arhansen85 Ha!
It’s a floating city.
Too big for me🤪
whats a qway lol
Can anyone say, Titanic!
That ship wasn't even that massive and they failed to get everyone out and to safety. That's why there's 1,517 Souls in the Abyss 😢
100 years ago
If it's anything like the Titanic it will fucking sink...
WALI 😂
Clueless when it comes to individual procedures. There are bed bugs, rats and malpractice when it comes to cruise ship industry.Dirty water that washes plates, rusty and faulty appliances. Many things are hidden in crew cabins in order to pass USPH. Quality of food is often low, due to economics. How do you think they make their profit?
What's up with the audio? It's awful. Goes from super low and staticy to loud and clear. Looks like it was dubbed over another language but that doesn't excuse how awful the audio is. Really detracts from an otherwise very interesting documentary.
Dubbed audio.
Volume of the cylinder was said to be 6.5 liters. That must be a (translation) mistake. I'd say the decimal point should be 2 digits more to the right.
What a waste of resoirces, the cruise ships throw, many tons of waste into the seas.
Is INDIA not Asia??🤔
You shouldn't be near those ropes very dangerous
Why go on a cruise if all you do is transport yourself to an overcrowded, glorified floating town? No thanks!
Wow, great tour!
Large minus .. 🛳️
SPECIAL NOTE:
* Listening to the guy talk "in the background" while you're talking is very very very annoying!!!!!
* It's like listening to a bunch of bees buzzing in your ears and we can't focus on what you're saying.
* Just some feedback for your future videos. : )
Amen

Fake BS clickbait picture. Why?

Quelle horreur!
Floating 'trailer parks' of obesity!
Nice. . . 😮
9000 crew/pax and only room in lifeboats for 6660 (18x370). Not going to happen. Titanic revisited!!
Unreal , looks like a computer simulation.
You have me SOLD now to venture on this OVER THE TOP cruise liner - ALWAYS AFRAID OF SEA SICKNESS - BUT - it APPEARS - this liner doesn't put any passenger in HARMS WAY for seasickness!
MORE THAN SURPRISED about the gardening on ship - my father a horticulturist on CT private estate and BRONX BOTANICAL GARDENS too - would he LOVE to witness today's technology!
Why are you screeching like a banshee about it, though?
