Port deserved the victory an obvious out of bounds that Hawthorn scored a goal from and a free kick that was absolutely riduclous that Hawthorn also got a goal from. Seriously those decisions in a finals match were absolutlely deplorable and should have been discussed in length. Ginniven wants to dish it out well when it comes back and bites him in the ass then take it and to all the Hawthorn players and coaches stop your whinging and move on.
You missed the two deliberate out of bounds in last quarter that should of been paid against port. Love how people cherry pick. Sling tackles are not allowed any more
Nobody commented on: -Port's 1st goal was given to them. Worpel clearly handballed it, the umpire called holding the ball. -No call on deliberate out of bounds when Port player kicked it straight to the boundary. -The deliberate OOB no call in the dring stages. Port player hit it straight to the line over his head. No call. Slamming a player to the ground where their head makes contact is an automatic free. They paid it bc they are told to pay them. Stop framing like only Port had bad calls, Hawks had several.

Hawthorne’s reaction to Hinkley’s cheeky taunt was embarrassing. Sam has been a level-headed coach throughout the year but to assert Hinkley was being aggressive to a Hawthorne player namely Ginny is pathetic and refusing to have a conversation with opposition coach is weak. Captain of Hawthorne (Sicily) behaved like a petulant child on the verge of crying after they (Hawthorne) experienced some discipline. Hinkley’s taunt of an immature player should be celebrated but instead he’s portrayed as a villain. AFL personalities need to stop making conflicting statements. We don’t want robotic football personalities yet the very instance an arrogant team experiences some medicine they cry victim.
"refusing to have a conversation with an opposition coach is weak." They did!😂 Mitchell graciously congratulated Ken after the game and Ken refused to confront Mitchell about Ginnivan's comment. That makes Ken either a coward for not fronting up to Mitchell or an emotionally unstable little man who can't control his behaviour.
@@agmor1 Port are a mentally fragile team that is inarguable. Hawthorne is a team full of arrogant petulant cry babies. When a team is bombarded with negativity how do you expect them to respond. Never give the opposition ammunition. Sicily’s response to Hinkley’s taunting was over the top. Making a storm in a teacup.
The difference between Ken and all these other coaches is his emotional fragility. He is scared of his own supporters and needs other coaches and his media mates to keep his job.
Hawks have been the most exciting and best teams to watch all season. But they were lucky to be as close as they got. 3 dubious free in 50m arc and 3 50m penalties helped them. Port fully deserved to win. It was a stupid instagram post, but I have loved the flair from Ginnivan on the field. Never give any ammunition to the opposition. Leave it for the grand final post game.
Those frees in the second 1/4 turned the momentum of the game somewhat. If its crucial and 50 50, then ball it up. That way neither side gets an advantage.

LIstening to Hodge and Lewis take some arbitrary moral high ground against Ken's behaviour when Port were openly mocked and disrespected all week off the field was borderline nauseating. You can't script that level of hypocrisy and double standard.
I think there's a double standard with Jack Ginnivan, if this was Jason Akermanis posting see you in 14 days... Well it's obvious Matthew would be playing a different tune. Ginnivan is old enough to play AFL, he's old enough to vote and is old enough to expect raw emotion when counting his chickens in a semi final.

Hats off to Port as a Hawks fan, turned it around massively and put in an outstanding backs-to-the-wall performance, and a coaching masterclass from Ken to shut down Hawthorn's weapons. On this whole saga, I think most Hawks fans with any sense weren't happy with what Jack said because, well, you just don't need to give the other side ammunition. I don't think it's was a distraction for Hawthorn, by why light a fire under a team that's down and out? Ken and Port clearly ran with it. I actually like Ken as a coach, seems like a really good guy. I would have liked Mitchell to come out a bit more clearly during the week and not just brush off what Jack said and reiterate that Hawthorn has a lot of respect for Port as a club and is not taking them lightly etc. Being a 21-year-old adult doesn't excuse dumb decisions that could affect the outcome. The aftermath probably wasn't a great look from Ken and the Port players smirking, from my point of view, mostly out of respect for the moment for Breust, who was about to be chaired off. But as far as Jack goes, he got what he deserved. He, if anyone, should have served it back to Ken and the Port players, if he stands by what he said, not look sheepish lurking around at the back of the group. I think Mitch and Sic getting a bit high and mighty came across as crocodile tears (but both were emotional immediately after the game and Sic had missed the game winning goal). You can't dish out disrespect (as a club) and not expect it to come back or be picky about how it's served back. I was so devastated on the loss, this was a bit of sideshow theatre that ultimately doesn't mean much. Apologies and fines aren't going to get us into a Prelim!
Some very sensible words from Hawks supporter which is nice to see compared to most of the rubbish I’ve seen from them. If Hawthorn were smart, they would’ve distanced themselves from Jack’s comments publicly instead of supporting him. In effect showing Port massive disrespect, which is exactly why it hurt coming back… Sooks is not strong enough a word for them.

That and outpouring of emotion after the St Kilda game show it is all a bit too much for him. It is clear he needs to step aside.
It certainly made non supporters hang around for the coaches press conferences. Normally I'd turn off so the Afl should thank all parties in the saga for spicing up the night. Also loved seeing the ex Hawthorn players having a winge. There's always next year boys 😂
Do you seriously expect the hawks not to be upset when they’re taunted straight after a narrow EF loss? It’s not about ‘all give and no take’ - Hawks never talked trash straight after a game , yet alone a game of such importance. They don’t need to ‘toughen up’… any devoted athlete would have the same reaction as Sicily - and as a fan, I’d be upset if they didn’t.
As a Hawthorn supporter I think Jack was a bit out of line in the first place , I knew that comment was going to bite us on the arse. Ken shouldn’t have done what he did but he did apologise so let it go. Hawthorn will hopefully use this moment and use it to learn from it for next season charge.
A bit out of line? What he posted is the ultimate for a disrespect to an opponent. It gave Port the extra motivation they needed to show up and win that final. If Ginnivan shuts his mouth, Hawthorn likely win that game.

For a sport that is one of the world’s toughest, it’s hilarious how triggered and righteous people get about Hinkley’s antics. Big deal. Goosevan dishes it out which is entertaining, and it’s equally entertaining if someone gives it back after they lose. It’s an entertainment business and if people spin it the right way, it guarantees bigger interest the next time they play. Too many triggered people forget pro sport is also an entertainment business.

Sicily carrying on like Ken insulted Ginni's mother was bad enough (when all he did was flap his arms and make a cheeky comment from 20 metres away) But then the way Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis and Dermie have carried on is frankly insane. Are Hawthorn that fragile a team that they cannot take the slightest tiniest bit of some of their own back? A glass jaw team and a sooky club then second things don't go their way. I'm not a Power supporter but nobody commented on the 2 goals that were given to Hawthorn.

@@bobdown5520 far from a sling. If that was hawthorne at the MCG they would of been paid as holding the ball
Yes 4 goals with the allir "free" and missed out of bounds. Alot in a low scoring game and allowing hawks to get going with first 3 goals.
Nobody commented on:
-Port's 1st goal was given to them.

As a head coach you shouldn’t do what Hinkley did. Commenting on a friends Instagram has nothing to do with the opposition.
"refusing to have a conversation with an opposition coach is weak."
They did!😂
Mitchell graciously congratulated Ken after the game and Ken refused to confront Mitchell about Ginnivan's comment.
That makes Ken either a coward for not fronting up to Mitchell or an emotionally unstable little man who can't control his behaviour.

kane is absolutely right. i think its just a hawks entitlement thing, they LOVE to give it. What jack said is fine but if you cant back it up then face the consequences.
