Yeah, and Rovinj and Krk are far from being cheap, total Tourist Regions and pretty expensive for Croatia. And I was in Colmar, maybe I was in the 'bad' part, but nothing beautiful there I could remember.
A nice little travelogue, but as for a really helpful guide to choosing a place to live abroad, it's not that helpful. Here are a few questions: is your video aimed at people still in the job market or retirees? One size doesn't fit all. For workers: how easy is it to get legal residency and work permits? Are there jobs? Of what kind? Do you need to speak the local language? For retirees: do a lot of tourists with accompanying nightlife make it too rowdy for a pleasant retirement? How easy is it to get around? (Note: steep streets may not be great for the elderly!) How easy is it to get affordable health care? For both: do enough local people speak English for you to manage daily living, such as shopping? How is Internet connection, can you get English-language radio/TV? Crime? Do locals welcome foreign residents or resent them or just ignore them? How easy is it to buy property, as a non-citizen? Is the government stable and unlikely to turn totalitarian? "Living" in a country means more than an extended vacation during nice weather. It's a commitment to year-round living and to adapting to local customs. Going to live abroad, you have to be fairly self-sufficient and adapt to things like lack of family and close friends. And you need to be pretty realistic.

What the video doesn’t really mention is the fact that most North American cities are simply car-infested (I know, I’m a Canadian) while most of these smallish European cities are not (I now live in one of them). So, not only cheaper, better looking, with excellent train connections, etc. but also healthier. Btw, why is an average US car so big? What for?
Great and Amazing to know about these beautiful towns in Europe. I have a friend, very kind from Montenegro for 20 years ago - he lives in Kalmar - the south of Sweden. We talked a lot about his country - So one day I will visit Montenegro for exploring and know more about culture as well. Thank you for sharing of your video clip. 😇🙏 Best Wishes from STOCKHOLM - SWEDEN 🌲
In Bar I had trouble with an Albanian manual worker. Also, neighbors are very rude if you complain of their (big) dogs barking day and night. No public toilets. Many dogs at the seaside, no asylum. Otherwise pretty safe.
Škofija Loka, Slovenia! I'm a Brit who has moved to Slovenia, but on the coast at Koper (near Rovinj). Slovenia is a very safe country and quite cheap compared to Western Europe, but not as cheap as the Balkans, which are within easy reach from here. Italy is just a short drive too.
Great work and really appreciated but you could please please put the titles of the locations running through the duration of your videos. You only mention the name once and that is honestly not enough. If there was more convenience viewers would come back more to what is a very good channel. Timestamps would help too….Thank you….❤😊

Cheap and Safe? Not all these places are even close to Turkish Medditerrnian coast towns.. No nosy people there, very safe and plus 400~600 dollars will be sufficient to live there..
very subjective choices, completely ignored most of Europe, like Germany, Scandinavia, really cheap places in Central Europe (Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, etc ...)
Yes, Europe is not car-immune, @florenna. But almost every European town was built well before the invention of the car. Like centuries before. And it shows - when one walks along those narrow, winding streets one can see that cars are merely guests there. Not “kings’ like in North America. Where 4 or 6-lane wide stroads (i.e. straight soulless hybrids of streets and roads) spoil landscapes. But, wait a sec, perhaps that’s how it’s supposed to be in the US - first one gets mentally drained by driving, then one watches another episode of “Survivor” or “Apprentice”, only to mindlessly vote for an orange criminal like that Trump fellow.
Can confirm that Colmar is absolutely beautiful. Was just there. Really close to Strasbourg and Germany and Switzerland too
Lloret del Mar is certainly not a cheap place to live in Spain. There are lots of cheaper places, that are also not tourist traps. I live in Spain
Sharon, could you please give a few specific places in Spain? I’m also looking for an affordable spot in Spain to consider seriously.

Same reason there are Big Macs and Whoppers.
Interesting, as to me, most European cities are already too car-infested (well, at least here in Finland)... I better not go to US ;D
I intend to travel to Colmar, FR in 2023. Taormina, Italy looks very interesting to me. I may go there too.

Taormina and Riva del Garda cheap? You have no idea my dear...
I think thic channell takes stuff from the internet and put it here without being in the places mentioned...
Yes, both places are lovely, but not that cheap...
Pogliano al Mare looks interesting, but it feels like there is absolutely no vegetation there?
"Inhibitants"...?
Görlitz, Saxony, Germany. Beautiful, inexpensive and next to Polish border.
What year was this video made?
Great!
All Montenegro cities on the south are great...Cheers from Montenegro!
Where there seems to be a new government in power every few months.
Question: Do these minimal average living costs include housing?
He claims so. But in Taormina or Riva, which I know, the rent are higher of the whole sum he says it is needed to live there...
@@urbanotocci5519 I expect you can double his numbers quite easily, if not triple them.
@@jimmason8502 That would then make these towns unaffordable for locals.

Do you mean it is safe for big dogs to bark?

I'm not sure that the cost of living prices mentioned here are accurate. I would count on double. Of course it can depend on many personal factors...

Most cities are awful - overcrowded, dirty, expensive, stuffy because too much concrete..
Which town? 😍
These videos are useless without including what items are included in the monthly costs of living!!!!
The video is just clickbait. Most of the places mentioned are extremely touristy - probably because he just finds a lot of videos of them.
How do you get Tortina from Taormina? You add letters and remove syllables. Are you a fool or a computer?
