I find that there's something peaceful about running in the snow. Usually the world is quieter and I like it. It also requires me to ignore pace and just run. Good luck with your goals.
One of my goals is to get back in running shape and lose 25lbs so I can enjoy running in the mountains again. I had a 3 month running break and I have little fitness now and I gained 25lbs. I also want to stay away from injuries, so another goal is to try and listen to my body more this year. My 3 month break was because of leg pain that would happen when I ran any decent distance. I think I ignored the warning signs along the way and then I was forced to stop due to the pain.

Great goals! Good luck as you ease back into running.

Goal is the Four pass loop with our mutual friend Mark along with my birthday marathon Blue Sky.
Any videos on your routine for staying study and strength and mobility?
Always a joy to watch what you’re doing!!

Nice goals Chad, good to hear you'll be keeping busy all around, it's tricky fitting everything in! I've a few races lined up, from 5k Parkruns to a 42 miler with ascent & a bit of everything in between 🏃‍♂ Good job with the snowy run 👍

Thank you my friend! Good luck with all your races, and especially that 42 miler. Keep crushing it!

Successfully launch a Personal Development UA-cam channel and increase my training volume by 20%. I don't have any running races yet, but I have entered a few gravel, mountain, and fat bike races.

Awesome goals for this year Chad! I'll have to try your idea of maple syrup! I've got a few goals for this year - my main one is to train hard but mostly enjoy the training runs and not think of them as training/ being outside and in the mountains is #1 priority. I signed up for the Run Rabbit Run 100 in Sept, High Sierra Ultra 50 in May. I also have some really fun fast packing loops in the Sierra for summer time. Also rock climbing and backpacking will be squeezed in there as well.
    Cheers buddy.

Sounds like some amazing adventures and races! Love the perspective to enjoy the training/being outside.

The only race I've signed up for this year, so far, is the Leadville marathon. I did the Silver Rush 50 last year, and the heavy half the year before, and really like the area. I'm still trying to decide on my 'A' race but I think I'd like to try a 100k. I'm considering either Never Summer or the Great Divide. Or possibly Bear Chase.
    Good luck with your races!

I started looking into the Great Divide 100k... May have to give that a second look though (commence Google search). I did run the Never Summer 100K and highly recommend it! My very first trail race was the Leadville heavy half, and I loved it!

Yeah, I gotta see how this is gonna work but March 1 I have a 50 K with in South Carolina hidden the two biggest peaks for that state total little over 8000 feet again for 50 K around in the east coast is pretty steep then I got a 50 miler in April. It’s pretty short after that with about 10 to 11,000 feet again and then they probably 100 mile or at the end of the year I’m looking to do this one that’s loops but they’re relatively flat so I’m gonna see if I can get my first sub 24 little fasterand that’ll be a year. Good luck to you. Good luck to everybody else let’s hit these.

This all sounds amazing! That 50k sounds tough with the elevation gain but a huge accomplishment when finished. Best of luck to you on all your races!

My big goal is to be present with my family and go to as many as my kids activities as possible. I am signed up for the El Paso Marathon, Bataan Memorial Death March, and Barkley Fall Classic. I am planning on signing up for the Silverton Alpine Marathon / Kendall Mountain Run, maybe the Jemez Mountain 50K, Tortugas 24 Hour Challenge, maybe the Truth or Consequences Desert Ultra, and Across The Years (either 100 mile or 72 hour race).

I didn't know you had your own channel so I just subscribed and hit the bell for all notifications! Your goal to be more present sounds perfect. Your races also sound amazing! I'll be cheering you on all the way.

Pacing would be a blast! Not sure if I'll be able to make that happen, but best of luck!

Looking like a good year ahead - couple 50k runs - Sinister 7 50k Solo in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, another in Canmore, Alberta. “Run” not race because I don’t race 😂. Family has a trip to Italy planned for August so I’m trying to find a race to run while we are there just for the memories.
I’m interested to hear more about the structure of your training and nutrition. I’m not sure I remember hearing anything about the training plan you follow and understand that can be dicey as it opens up critique and comment on a topic that can be quite individual. This sort of ties in with the interval / strength training chats.
Perhaps a round-up video of quarterly comparisons?
Beyond that, the runs with your brother/family, the run-venture stuff is always great to see. As always, thanks for the vids and the chat.

If you ever decide to run a race in Canada, you’ve got the start of a support crew - just sayin.

Great feedback! I'm open to sharing more about my training and such, even though I don't follow our formal training plan. I kind of make it up as I go along but as I get closer to an actual race I'll do specific training runs. Your trip to Italy and your other "races" sound awesome!

Wild! I live in Canmore! Sinister 7 sounds fun, I ran the Minotaur in Crowsnest Pass last year, it was brutal! Good luck on your 2025 goals Chad and...Chad! I'll be moving across the world to New Zealand soon ish so I'm aiming at a couple 50ks over there during the year and maybe a skyrace if I can find one to test my will!

You've done never summer, right? I guess the other one that comes to mind especially given the goal of becoming a better uphill runner - would be Tushar in Utah. It may be a little too far - depends how far you can go out obviously.

    • @SeeChadRun
      @SeeChadRun  2 дні тому

All my family is in Utah, so Utah races are not out of the question. Speedgoat 50k is another one that comes to mind. And yes, I've done Never Summer 100k but I could see myself signing up for this race again someday. Maybe I should look at High Lonesome 100...

@@SeeChadRun I'd like to do High Lonesome 100 too some day - lottery make sit a bit hard to plan however
