If the US does not support the people of Pakistan in their struggle they will only make people more hostile toward the Establishment and the US. To control 25 crore people bearing the economic hardship of loan repayment may not be easy to handle.

Most of my comments were before I heard that he was an Indian American, it all makes sense now. Why would an Indian journalist understand the cause of Pakistan or maybe was surprised at the attention the PTI and the people of Pakistan got which must have turned him off. We should go ahead with our cause. I've lived in United States for 40 years and I've only been involved in American politics, for the first time. Imran Khan gave me a reason to stand up for Pakistan and also because American politics stinks now, they are no better than the present government of Pakistan.

I think a consensus view is that following the Congressional hearing on 20/03/24 and the resolution that has been approved, let’s at least say the State Dept’s approach to blindly follow whatever is sent or fed by the US Embassy in ISL has been checked. It can no longer be the same for State Dept policy makers as they were ignoring what the people want to see. They foolishly did this in Iran, in 1979, and see how the US has suffered in that country.

I don't think it was something between PTI n US state. It was their congressmen talking about US stand on democracy in Pak. They were pointing out US is not checking n pointing out effectively according to state policy of sporting democracy. Infact they have become shamefully partner to fascism. This govt will loose popularity with no democratically supporting military. Indian r also disturbed on PTI support n nawaze n zardari types of govt they support bc they weaken pak.

At least they have an obligation to the people of the country ! We have paid a huge price in supporting US foreign policies. They claim China is like a loan shark. What about IMF and the conditions it imposes on the people of the country ! Our military and our kleptocracy with their funds in USD and off shore accounts only stand to gain and they often escape the tax net. No belt tightening measures are imposed on them. Nor is their an audit of govt servants living beyond their means and their control over resources. Their gross misuse of funds and their consistently siphoning money abroad. Why does the IMF not force them to use their ill gotten gains to help with loan repayment ?

I agree with Mr Dhume that the first 48 hours were more important. Well, I strongly believe that things will not turn into favor of Imran Khan by Judiciary and other state institutions as pti people think but the only way to turn the thing upside down is street power, we need just 5% of the 24 crore on the streets with the determination that whatever happen, we will not go back home without the result and justice, shutdown businesses , industries, Block all main highways etc for indefinite period till get results.
