  • As an ambulatory wheelchair user, I found it difficult to find a wheelchair that matched my needs but the Dash E-fold was a great reflection of those needs!
In this video- I go over the perks of the wheelchair, and how I went about getting it.

It is so validating to hear you talking about the mobility aid options you didn't want becusse you didn't wanna look old. Im almost 17 and in the process of getting a wheelchair, and I'm definitely struggling with it💜

@POTS_pain_patience of course! Unfortunately I do feel as if there are stigmas around certain types of mobility aid! For me- it was critical I found a chair that not only suited my needs but allowed me to feel confident! I started using a chair about 16/17 so I completely understand what you’re going through! It’s important to remember you’re allowed to grieve the mobility you had prior. It does get easier and you get more confidence as you go along! I’m 22 now and although i’m not always as confident as I should be- I am no longer embarrassed and that’s so great xx

Love mine, recently in Amsterdam one of the back wheels slipped off a high curb and the bar between the motors snapped in the centre 😬 Thankfully I was able to fix it with an aluminum bar (the back axel bar is hollow and a 20mm x 20mm x 200mm solid bar fit snugly inside) and some JB Weld epoxy. I think it's actually even stronger now!

@@themissylife Pretty good, the assistance crews at Schiphol are becoming experts at dealing with the e-fold as I fly there regularly with it
So long as I book assistance 1+ weeks in advance I can ride my chair to the gate (I'm able to walk onto the plane with sticks) and collect it at the other end on disembarking
Parts of the city are less accessible (all public toilets seem to be in basements for example) but I can manage short distances with sticks. If I couldn't then it would be a less enjoyable experience

Good video and I have that feeling about mobility scooters and I'm in my mid fifties 🙂 It can be overwhelming comparing all the chairs as a newby wheelchair user.

Ive been looking at this chair myself, does it have suspension and can you feel going up and down curbs?? Im eventually going to have to get a wheelchair, like you said so many types, so much to think about!!

It is the tiniest bit bumpy if you're going up something big but as someone who usually gets pain going over bumps i'd say it is not that recognisable! It doesn't hurt to! Cobbled streets will be a bumpy ride no matter the wheelchair, though!
