I had a generic spanner wrench from AutoZone or something. Saved $10... they're not really in too tight you can't manage, unless you just want a Hobie tool. Much nicer than having 2 straps, holds the lid more snug I think.
Nice job. How good is the seal? I still get water in the tub with both seal installed. When wake or waves come over the hatch it always enter in between the hatch which creates pressure. Literally needs a cover over the water channel and front hindged bungee cords. Still waiting for better design from hobie.
@@BlueSummitOutdoors Thanks my 2016 now has black marks where the bungees lay across the hatch. When I add the deck mat I don't want this to happen to the deck mat.
Yep, I saw a PA like that, and I've gotten hooks stuck in the other bungie set-up. I'm doing this. Thanks for the video.
No problem thanks for watching
Love the idea so much better
Thanks for the video!!!! I was wondering how to do this!

Fine for lakers, wouldn't recommend for anyone going through surf.
True
Awesome! Did you notice any change in the amount of water getting into the hull after doing this?
Still too cold in VA for me I haven't taken out out yet. Soon though...Soon.
@@BlueSummitOutdoors yeah I realized that may be the case after I saw the date in the video. Subscribed now so I won't miss em in the future.
Thanks I'll be sure to let you know if I come across any issues with it.
