RULES:
Deal 7 cards to each player. The object of the game is to be the first player to 500 points. The object of each round is to be the first person to play all the cards in your hand.
After dealing, the dealer flips over the top card of the deck. Beginning clockwise from the dealer, players play 1 card each turn. A legal play is a card that either matches color, number, word or symbol (based on what version of the game you have), or it is a wild.
After shuffling, if the first card flipped over by the dealer is a draw 4 wild, the card is placed back in the deck and another card is drawn. If it is a wild card, the player left of the dealer picks a color and plays. If it is a draw 2 card, the player left of the dealer draws 2 cards and skips their turn. If it is a reverse card, the dealer goes first.
Some of the special cards are as follows:
Skip: the next player forfeits their turn.
Reverse: changes direction of play.
Draw 2: the next player draws 2 cards and forfeits their turn.
Wild: may be played on anything and allows you to pick a color that the next card played must follow.
Draw 4 Wild: does the same as a wild but in addition the next player must draw 4 cards and forfeit his turn. However a Draw 4 Wild may only be played when you don’t have a card in your hand matching the color being played. Wild cards represent no color until they are played.
If you believe the player before you played his draw 4 illegally, the player drawing the 4 cards, an only that player, may challenge him. The player reveals his hand and if the draw 4 was a legal play then the challenger draws 2 additional penalty cards. If the player played illegally, then the draw 4 wild is returned to their hand, they play the correct card, and they draw 4 penalty cards.
If you can’t play you draw 1 card, if that card can be played, you may play it immediately otherwise your turn is forfeited. You may also choose not to play on your turn but instead draw a card, if that card can be played you may immediately play that card (and only that card) or end your turn.
When you get down to 1 card in your hand you must call “UNO”, meaning 1. If you don’t call “UNO” by the time your second to last card touches the discard pile any other player may catch you on this. If they do before the next player draws, you draw 2 cards.
If the round hasn’t ended and the draw deck runs out of cards, shuffle the discard pile and it becomes the new draw deck.
When a player plays the last card in their hand the round ends. If that card is a draw card you still fulfill the drawing. Points are then scored. The player who goes out receives points for every unplayed card in other player’s hands.
All cards 0-9 are worth face value
Draw 2, reverse, and skips are worth 20 points
Wilds and draw 4 wilds are worth 50 points
If a player makes a suggestion to any other player on what card to play, he must immediately draw 4 penalty cards
If a player doesn’t have 500 or more points, reshuffle and deal and play again. The winner of each round becomes next round’s dealer. The first player to or exceeding 500 points, wins.
we play like who ever runs out of cards is the winner.

We used to play UNO on most game nights every week as a family when my brother and I were kids. Brings back memories, which I like as lost our Mum in Oct '19 to cancer 😞 She loved this game too. Thinking of you Mum 🥰
Im so sorry for ur lost man but as u said, it brings some good memories. I didn't play this game since this game became popular in my country back on 2008 and now I'm doing it with my gf. Wish u the best.
Im so sorry for ur loss. mad respect o7

Sorry bro
Sorry to hear that but you have some great memories with her it sounds like! I feel your pain cause I lost my mom November 24th 2020 to a stroke and it’s without a doubt the toughest loss. I also lost my brother November 24th 2011. But like you tho at least I have some great memories with her and my brother. You don’t realize how important memories are until that is all you have left of someone.
I'm 57 and working on a doctorate. I have no time for these rules as they relieve absolutely NO stress. I'm with the 'play til you're out of cards' crew. lol
That's how we play if you run out of cards you win
Thanks, dude. It's not a game we would have in my country Bulgaria and it recently started gaining popularity, but people still don't know how to properly play - me included. I got a deck as a gift and I read several instructions that were so complicated I had given up on that, but your video explained the whole thing in 3 minutes and now we have a lot of fun :)
Good for you but I'm super lost with this.
Fun Fact: Nobody in the world plays this game by the rules.

@@adarshmohapatra5058 I have never heard of "sandwich." Please explain.

Why?
I had never heard of UNO until after I graduated high school. It was then that I realized I had been playing a bootleg version of the game in high school without knowing it. (late 1970s). It makes sense to convert the game to a regular deck of cards instead of buying a specially marked deck since everybody usually has several decks of cards laying around the house. I don't remember much about the rules except that fours reversed the direction of play and that aces, twos, sevens, and tens also did something, I think. Also, when I played the game in high school (late 1970s) we called it "Crap on Your Neighbor" which I think is a better name than Uno anyway. 🙂
My friend and I used UNO cards instead of regular cards (about 5 years ago) in high school. We just remember which color is which deck and use plus/reverse/skip as K Q J. The regular decks are against the rules because they’re seem like “gambling” according to the teachers.
Uno is just a branded version of a card game called crazy eights. they added a few cards but the rules are the same just certain cards act as the trick cards in Uno.
I thought u could play a 4+ wild anytime..
Yes you can, but you will have the risk of backfire if you play ilegally.
@/dev/RerunCipher We play Uno without the point system but we include everything else. We also include house rules like 7-0, Jump-In, and you draw until you can play a card. We also have the +4 rule sometimes.

A couple of weird rules that my family and friends have used, in addition to the majority of these:
•If someone attempts to play a draw 2 on you, and you have one in hand, play and the next player draws the amount of cards appropriately the number of draw 2s played (same rule applied for draw fours, and the one who played the last one got to declare the color).
•You could play a skip in response to someone trying to skip you, which just kept pushing it onto the next player till someone didn’t have a skip to play.
•We didn’t draw one card if we didn’t have a playable card, you kept drawing cards till you had a playable card.
If you couldn’t tell, whenever we played, at least one person had a *whole lot* of cards in their hand.
I think the first two ones are correct and it is legal
Me and my cousins used the third rule and we thought it was the original rule
I kept drawing cards till I got a playable card and i got 42 cards
@@pillow1557 Stacking draw cards and 'draw until you can play' are popular house rules. I've never heard the 'skip pushing' one though.

We have a combo rule in which you can play multiple cards. If you have a blue 1, then you can play another 1 card or multiple 1 cards in one turn. You can also play cards in ascending and descending numerical order if, and only if the card matches the color of the previous card. So if I play a blue 1, I can then play ablue 2, 3 , 4 and 5 so long as I have them in the same color.
Thank you! You explained it way better than the written instructions.
I always loved UNO because of its simplicity and adaptability, for example, here in Italy UNO rules can vary from home to home and you always have to remember who you are playing with
Both a blessing and a curse, many people where I live now just hate uno because some of the owners are just dumbasses, making bad rules.
Wow, I learned to play this game entirely differently! I must've had an old version. The point was to have the least number of points and all specialty cards were 10 points. :) Ah well, it's good to know how other people play this game. Thanks!
Cass W. Where did this pont thing come from? For us, the winner is whomever runs out of cards.
Liz Daw It comes from reading the rules instead of assuming them.
+propercopyofme Actually it comes from the fact that nobody plays like that anymore. I've yet to see anyone play with a point system.
It's not an old version, that was always the rules, but the thing about games, once people love a game they make up rules for them especially if they disregard the rules and than go on to teach their friends the new made up rules
@@nromk - Got Uno for Christmas and the instructions state that the points system is an “optional victory method”.
I always thought you were supposed to draw until you had a card you could play. It makes so much more sense to only draw one card and end your turn.
I was taught the same, but i prefer that way. It makes the game more interesting and unpredictable
@CatRyBou man i hate house rules i always keep the rules in my phone and never accept any house rules at all ever
The Hog Rider card is opened from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). He is an exceptionally quick structure focusing on, scuffle troop with decently high hitpoints and harm. He shows up very much like his Clash of Clans partner; a man with earthy colored eyebrows, a facial hair growth, a mohawk, and a brilliant body penetrating in his left ear who is riding a hoard. A Hog Rider card costs 4 Elixir to send. Procedure His quick move speed can help forward smaller than expected tanks like an Ice Golem in a push. Simultaneously, he can likewise work as a tank for lower hitpoint troops, for example, Goblins as he actually has a considerable lot of wellbeing. Most modest multitudes supplement the Hog Rider well, as they are close to as quick as him and typically power more than one card out of the adversary's hand. The Hog Rider battles with swarms, as they can harm him down and overcome him rapidly while impeding his way. Savages specifically can completely counter him without extremely severe planning on the safeguard's part, however be careful about spells. A Hunter can kill the Hog Rider in 2 hits whenever put right on top of it. Nonetheless, on the off chance that you place something before the Hog Rider, the Hunter's sprinkle will harm the Hog Rider and hit the card before it more. The Hog Rider related to the Freeze can amaze the rival and permit the Hog Rider to bargain considerably more harm than expected, particularly assuming that the rival's go-to counter is a multitude, or multitudes are their main viable counter to him. Skeletons and Bats will quickly be crushed by the spell, while Spear Goblins, Goblins, and Minions will be at low sufficient wellbeing to be crushed by a subsequent Zap or Giant Snowball. Nonetheless, this technique isn't exceptionally compelling against structures as the Hog Rider will require a significant stretch of time to obliterate the structure, giving the rival sufficient chance to express another counter. Against non-swarm troops, it can bargain a great deal of harm during the freeze time, however this can permit the adversary to set up a huge counterpush. Consequently, players ought to either possibly go for a Hog Rider + Freeze when they have different units upholding it from a counterattack, or then again in the event that the match is going to end and they need to bargain however much harm as could reasonably be expected. It's anything but smart to send in a Hog Rider just to annihilate a structure, particularly in the event that it is the main structure focusing on unit accessible, as overcoming Crown Towers turns out to be significantly more troublesome. Spells or basically holding up out the lifetime of the structure are more powerful. The exemption for this is an Elixir Collector put before the King's Tower. On the off chance that a Hog Rider put at the scaffold, he can annihilate the Collector for a positive Elixir exchange, however the harm from both Princess Towers will normally mean he doesn't make due to bargain any harm to them. In any case, assuming that the rival sends in shielding troops, it very well may be a chance to acquire spell harm esteem. In a deck with a few minimal expense cards, everything will work out for the best to just send the Hog Rider against one structure. These decks mix their card turn adequately speedy, that they will show up to their next Hog Rider before the following structure shows up in the adversary's card revolution. Since quite a while ago ran troops like Musketeer and Flying Machine can kill those structures, protecting a portion of the Hog Rider's wellbeing, conceivably permitting it to get some Tower harm. Whenever there are structures put in the center to counter the Hog Rider, understanding the arrangement of the Hog Rider and the sort of building set can help the Hog Rider to sidestep specific structures. Detached structures, for example, spawners and Elixir Collector have a bigger hitbox than cautious structures; and that actually intends that assuming an inactive structure was set 3 tiles from the waterway in the adversary's side, then, at that point, it is outside the realm of possibilities for the Hog Rider to sidestep that position as the Hog Rider will get pulled to that structure. Cautious structures have a more modest hitbox than an inactive structure, and that implies if that assuming a protective structure was put three tiles from the waterway in the rival's side, a Hog Rider put at the exceptionally left or right half of the Arena might have the option to sidestep it because of its more modest hitbox. Assuming the player has a structure previously positioned down in the focal point of the field, and the rival attempts to sidestep it with a Hog Rider at the edge of the field, they can utilize specific air troops to push the Hog Rider towards the structure as it gets around the stream, adequately denying the detour endeavor. They should be now drifting over the right arrangement, as extremely fast reflexes are needed to accurately play out this procedure. For Bats, Skeleton Dragons, and Minion Horde, they should be set directly before the Hog Rider when it is sent. For Minions, Skeleton Barrel, Mega Minion, Flying Machine, Electro Dragon, Baby Dragon, Inferno Dragon, Balloon, and Lava Hound, stun the above arrangement one tile to the right in the event that the Hog Rider is put on the left half of the field, as well as the other way around. They can likewise utilize ground troops to accomplish a similar outcome.3

1:40 Speaking of challenging, to be more specific about the legal play of a Wild Draw 4, if the player who played the Wild Draw 4 doesn't have a color card matching the color played, the *challenger draws 6 penalty cards* instead of 4.
Love this, I’ve been looking for the rules for a long time. Thank you! ☺️
Ur thi gi is creep
Rules:
match colours, numbers, reverse cards, skip cards, zero cards, draw 4 cards and draw 2 cards. If you have two cards left and its youre turn to drop a card, u have to say uno first so u wont take 2 cards. If you have pick a colour card thingie, you can drop that on any colour of the cards and say wich colour u want ( yellow, red, blue or green ) to opponent to drop on the card. If you say red and youre opponent doesn't had red, he or she has to pick up cards until he or she drop red card. Draw 2 cards and draw 4 Cards, its useful when youre opponent is about to win. Draw cards can make opponents pick the cards up, like:
If youre opponent dropped yellow card and u had yellow draw 2 card, you can drop that and make youre opponent take 2 cards. It will be more better if you had draw 4 cards. Remember, you have to match colours. Sorry about my bad grammar and if i was wrong please tell in the replys 😁
Edit: Whoops, I forgot about the reverse cards, skip cards, and zero cards! If yourr opponent dropped draw 4 cards with yellow colour and if you had reverse card with yellow colour, you can drop that and make them to pick up the 4 cards and also... You have to match colours. If you don't get it i can say this in easy way! You are reversing the card of the opponent reverses arent working on regular cards ( one, two, three and more )
About the skip cards. Well... If youre opponent dropped the yellow draw 4 cards you can skip that by dropping skip card with yellow colour. About the zero cards. You are trading you're card to youre opponent and youre opponent is trading his or her own.
Thats it. Sorry about my bad grammar, if i was wrong please tell in the replys 😁
Edit 2: You can play it also with youre ways! 😁
Edit 3: I'm playing like this and whoever empties their cards is the winner.
Well I learned it like who ever has one card left wins if they say uno and no points were involved weird
Can you play a +2 on top of another +2 ? If so does the next person have to draw 4 ?

One question about scoring: Do you need to play everytime new round until someone gets 500+ points or you write points on a piece of paper with every round finished until them give total of 500+ points?
total, across multiple rounds
I believe until one round ends in 500 points, and the person who got rid of all their cards wins said round
It's the total points accumulated in all rounds played per match.

The cards in the box were written in terrible broken English. The video was unduly complicated so I translated the instructions from the video into my own:
Rules
If you cannot play you pick up 1 card.
You can choose to pick when you could have played. You can play that card when you do.
1 card left you call Uno. It must be done immediately before next person’s card played otherwise a challenger may cause you to pick up 2 cards.
If deck runs out use the shuffled discard deck.
When the game is over points from other players are added to your score.
• 0-9 = face value
• Draw +2, Reverse and Skip = 20 points
• Wild and +4 Wild = 50 points
• First player to 500 points wins, the winner of each round becomes the dealer
Card Types
• Draw +2 = next player picks up and skips a turn
• 0 = next player skips
• Reverse changes direction of play, double arrow
• Wildcard = can be used for any colour but you must pick a colour for it
• Draw +4 Wildcard = does the same but next player must pick up 4 and skip a turn. You must not have colour chosen in your hand. This can be challenged, failed challenger picks up 2, success causes wildcard player to pick up 4 and try again.
What does “You must not have color chosen in your hand” mean? I’m sorry I’m really slow lol
Me before: ReVeRsE uno CaRd
Me after: **insert serious face**
If an action card is the first card in the discard pile some special rules should be applied:
+2 = every player should be dealt two extra cards
Reverse/skip = Initial direction of play is clockwise
Wild = card from bottom of deck is placed on top to determine the color
Wild +4 = every player is dealt four extra cards and card from bottom of deck is placed on top to determine the color.
And also +2 and +4 should mean add two or four cards to the discard pile before the game starts with an extra card added if the last card is a +2 or a +4 or a regular wild…
Depends on the house rules, properly, you shuffled it into the deck

Thank you I am had my 12th brithday on 14 sept. I went to the market with my aunt to pick a gift for me. The uno cards had caught my eye. I have seen people play it and I have played it digitally a few times but that was sooooo long ago. By now I didn't even remember the names of the cards. Thx for the instructions.
The first UNO set I ever had was an older version that used letters, instead of the picture symbols, for all the word cards
Yeah, older UNO sets had the action cards spelled out - Wild, Wild Draw Four, Skip, Reverse, and Draw 2.
I'm still really confused with the Draw Four Wild cards.
The person who plays a "Draw 4 Wild" calls the color that continues play. Also, the next player has to pick up 4 cards from the DRAW pile and miss his/her turn. Unfortunately, the card can only be played when the player holding it does not have a card in his/her hand to match the color on the DISCARD pile. If the player holds matching numbers or Action Cards (Skip/Reverse), however, the Wild Draw Four card may be played. A player holding a Wild Draw Four may choose to bluff and play the card illegally, but if he/she is caught certain rules apply (See PENALTIES). If this card is turned up at the beginning of play, it is returned to the deck and another card is picked.
PENALTIES
If a Wild Draw Four card is played illegally (that is, if the player holds a matching color to one that’s on the DISCARD pile) and the person who plays it is challenged, the hand must first be shown to the player who has made the challenge. If the Wild Draw Four card has been played illegally, the offending player must draw 4 cards. If the card has been correctly played, the challenger must draw 2 cards in addition to the 4. The challenge can only be made by the player who is required to pick up the 4 cards after the Wild Draw Four card is laid.

is it wrong not to play by these rules? our game still delivers great fun and there's always a winner. p.s. we play least amount of points/cards
You can play without points or other stuff and add some rules. This type of play is called a House Rule
*_Why is everyone complaining about this guy's explanation? He kept it short and simple. Like, are you that dumb?? English isn't my first language and I understood the game right away._*
iwtmltyb No that’s a house rule. Official UNO twitter account said that stacking wasn’t official.
People are mad that the official rules isn’t the way they play
But what if a player falsely says “UNO” when having multiple cards in their hand?
Allan the Hero draw 2 cards
Its called flase uno and they draw 2
Draw 2 card
You lose
Seems like noone really cares about the rules and plays their own way... So I'm gonna share my variant:
Wild cards are always allowed, wild cards and +2 cards can be extended/overwritten (to +4, +8 etc).
If you have the exact same card as the one that is on the deck, you can immediately throw it on, regardless if it's your turn or not. After that, the game continues normally.
If you have one card you call UNO, if you have no more cards, call UNO UNO, you win. If you forget to call, draw 2. The game continues until every player finished. There are no points, only 1st/2nd etc. The loser begins the next round.
There's also a "black" card: if you play that, you swap your cards with any other player. Black and wild cards can't be played as the last card.
If you want to play that: have fun! It can get really chaotic :) (but that's the fun part)
We make it more fun by playing the draw 2 by throwing another draw 2 if u have one then that would be 4 cards to the 3rd player unless the player has another draw 2 then that would make the 4th player to draw 6.. hope I didn't confused anybody lol
Thanku, If I don't see this video, I'll never be able to understand how to play UNO.
Now it has become my favourite card game
u could save it to a Playlist. ..
Me who actually read the rules:
I am four parallel universes ahead of everyone
If it is a Wild +4 The person to The left of The dealer draws 4 cards and skips their turn and the next player plays any card
I'm confused on the points and the "UNO" thing
Good explination! Tho the end bit is a bit complex we got it in the end! Fun game to play over the holidays where ur hella bored.
If the person before me plays a draw 4 card, can I play a draw 4 too ?, so the person after me draws 8 cards.
No, since you drew 4, your turn is forfeited.
the rules are useless... we play with our own rules and yeah we out draw 4 on a draw 4
We do the same +2 card on a +2 card.

"If a player makes a suggestion to any other player on what card to play, he must immediately draw 4 penalty cards"

that is an old rule
Mine version of playing is way different. First the dealer is like a normal player. Second if you get any ability card you put it back on the bottom of the deck then you put the second card. Three you continue until you have no card. when the first player to win the game the game continues and some of what your instructions are also in the game!
What??? The instructions for this game are way too complicated.
I’ve never played uno to this day but for some reason am watching this video😎
lol
i play by whoever lookes at onother players cards they must draw 4 penaltuy cards and none of those cards may be action cards
My friends and I always debate on WHEN to call uno. Ex. It’s my friend’s turn and she has two cards, on this turn she is about to throw out one of those cards. Is it fair to call uno as she is throwing the card out or do I have to wait until she has finished putting the card down before I call uno?!? 🤔 because sometimes as ppl are throwing that second card out that’s when they call uno.
My mom said that 2plus card when placed you have to draw 2 cards and place 2 cards thats the same color. This got me confused and now im in troubble and embarrased by my fammily cuz i said the right thing...;(
I get it
still dont get it
Haha me and my cousins play this and the rules between us is different haha because i use to play this with my friends back in years haha and were not calculating points its just that their annoying haha
can you put down multiple cards in order? like 5,6,7,8 in the same colour?
Nope. But you can put down multiple cards with the same number even tho with different colours
@@hungryangmo9964 you can put only 1 card per turn
i still don't get it...
What happens if a skip card is turned up at the start?
I've literally been trying to learn Uno for 10 years straight, I still can't play.
Bruh
Can your last card be a wild, reverse, skip and +2
if the last card we throw we must say 'uno!' right
??
+Syafina Shafee only on second to last card
+Triple S Games yes
+Triple S Games if we didn't yell uno, what would be happen in the game??
Syafina love slime ur about to pay down your second to last card, day uno
Can we end our cards by playing skip reverse or any other special cards
yes
I confused after your explanation. :(
+Karthik sorry...
I always new how to play uno easy.....
Can you end with a wild card
Prizmo 90 yes
Do you say "uno" if you put down the second card that you have? or do you say "uno" if your gonna put the last card down? or do you say "uno" if you have one card left?
Clearly explained :)
+Zakariya Km yes!
I know its super late but had a small doubt. Suppose you said uno after keeping your penultimate card and then in the next round, the last card you have left isnt of the right color,A) do you draw another card?B) if so, do you have to say uno once again without getting caught?
The only part I'm confused about is the draw 4 wild
I'm going back to playing 13 cards to hell with Uno, this shit is confusing.
linh nguyen me too
Linh Nguyen wild card means u can change the color of the cards if u use this card when is your turn
First, u can choose whether u'll put it (4 wild card) on the deck or keep it untill the next turn, if u put it on the deck, then u ask the colour that u want to the next player. E.x : u said 'blue', and if the next player doesnt have any blue card, he should take 4 cards from the pile deck, , but if he has any blue card and can show it to the deck, we should take 4 cards from the pile deck.
Linh Nguyen When you draw the Draw 4 Wild card, you say a color of the cards. (Most preferably the color of most cards in your hand) Then the next player collects 4 cards.
I have been playing uno for years and half of these rules I have never heard of 😂
Meh. we altered the rules so it'll be easier to play. I know to play by two diff. rules hahahhahaha.
Pretty complicated lol. Oh well, me and my family just make up are own rules lol. As long as we have fun that's all that matters.
Try reading the manual of UNO which is present In Box its more Understandable
this game is annoying too much rules and smack
I know right! :(
Fxfjlk
old cup monopoly is better
another question. if the player throws last card wild card draw 4 does the loser need to draw and the 4 cards get into point calculation?
+Salt McLean sulfjmus yes.
Yes,even Draw 8, 12, 16 also can.
Screw this, I'm just going to stick with video games.
No Sleep
lmao!
Isn't there a video game for uno?

Yeah dude you are right I will play pubg all night
I know people would call me stupid anwsering this but can you draw a card from the pile and play a card from your hand?
Who else forgot how to play??
What if you don’t have the same card even if you borrow one more card from the pile could we skip?
