I have never in my life seen so many excuses made for one player more than Caleb. I think Caleb will be a good QB however he was billed as Generational and so far, he is a 4-10 QB that has lost 8 straight and fair or not QB's are judged on W's or L's.

You realize the fired their OC, promoted their little known coaches to OC, then fired their head coach, and made the interim OC the new interim head coach!? Oh then add on the horrible Oline! 😂. No rookie has had deal with this much turmoil yet still showed promise! What are you smoking?! Of course Caleb could be better also but the job of a good team and coaching is to put a rookie QB in good position to do that! Has that happened?! Absolutely not! Its like people have forgotten the difference between the NCAA & NFL & they see thi players doing things in College & think they will do the same in the NFL. With Darrisaw out, the O-Line is shaky in pass protection. Darnold's mobility, arm talent, & toughness have been a key part of the Vikings' success. This guy saying Caleb has issues when the game is in the balance is not giving the whole picture. Firstly he claims he has 6 interceptions when he only has 5. But the real issue is 4 of the 8 straight defeats have gone down to the last play of the game. In Washington Caleb “won” the game with 20 seconds left then Eberflus blew the Hail Mary play. Against Green Bay Caleb led the Bears down to extremely makable FG range then the kicker missed the FG as the clock struck zero. Against the Vikings Caleb put up 11 points in the final 25 seconds to tie the game. Against Detroit he had the Bears a 1st down at the Detroit 13 yard line with 45 seconds left only for an OL man to be called for a penalty that set in motion Eberflus’s firing. This all happened against 4 teams expected to make the play-offs and in the middle of Chicago chaos. He is now playing with a beat up OL and a totally unqualified HC and OC. No wonder things are looking shambolic.

When are NFL analyst/fans going to learn? When drafting a rookie QB, success is MOSTLY contingent on the offensive staff (mainly coaching) and that players compatibility with said staff!.. Not whether, he's good or superman or whatever!. All of these first round guys are talented/gifted and have a chance to succeed. What matters is if there will be a coaching staff equipped with a GOOD plan and structure. Will that rookie QB align with said plan and culture/energy that he is greeted with? Are there going to be explosive, talented playmakers on the field with him to help alleviate some of the pressure and progress? These are the things that need to be watched for examined and evaluated, before, during, and after that initial season. Not whether he's some kind of magic pill the organization can take to success! We've sampled and studied this enough to be continuing this stale narrative. If Lamar Jackson had gone to the Browns, for example, COMPLETELY different career!. Whereas if Pat Mahomes had been drafted by Washington back then, he's most likely be on his second team now!.
