the 10:1 modulation could be a differentiator if you have a smaller house but want the flow rate for your water kept high - 3kw on the 30kw 100, or 3.75kw on the 050.

Hahaha, we think they’re definitely worth it, one of our favourite boilers! We’d have to speak to Viessmann to find out the dB scaling for these boilers but we know that the Viessmann 200 is one of the quietest combi boilers on the market coming in at 36 db. The Viessmann 100 is a very similar product, so the db on this would be very similar also. If you have Tado Smart Thermostatic Radiator Valves, then we’d recommend using the Tado Smart Thermostat, to get the most out of your system.

You didn't mention the weight, strangely the 050 is heavier at 35Kg compared to the 100-W which is 33Kg. (The dairy lea triangle bit was actually quite funny).
The problem with vicare thermostat is that it does not have a display like nest,honeywell,tado etc If the boiler somehow loses connection with the router how will you control via vicare app?
One other factor which might influence the choice of which one, is the depth. In some modern kitchen cabinets, only 330 mm is available which precludes the 100.
No mention of weather compensation? For smaller properties the turn down ratio is key, and specifically the minimum firing rate. I live in a larger property and my heat loss is 5KWh at -2C but even with a 1.9KW minimum firing rate my V200W starts cycling once ambient gets to 10C and more. For smaller flats and houses a min fire rate of 3KW + will lead to high cycling frequency. Still better than some makes who are idling at 7KW 😳
Lambda probes cannot "read" air/gas quality. They simply measure residual oxygen during the combustion, so they can keep the correct (stoichiometric?) balance by modulating gas and air input
Great review, Just found out that you can't have weather comp and Vicare app together on the 050, you can have weather comp with third party controls or Vicare only. seems a bit stingy as weather comp is hardly a luxury option. This is not the case with the 100 it can have both. Great boiler and super quiet & well built.
Useful comment Gavin. Can you explain a bit more what this means? I'm deciding between 050, 100 and 200 and specifically want advanced weather comp (using external sensor). How does weather comp work on the 050 if you can't use the ViCare app?
Having a Viessmann regular installed but it's a shame you don't offer their smart controller in the upgrade options. Had to go with Tado in the end but I've heard the Viessmann app is very good.
Hey Sparky, we will be offering this as an option again in the next couple of months. There are currently a few issues with the ViCare thermostat at the moment that Viessmann is working on, but as soon as these are fixed they will be come available again. The Tado is still a very good thermostat!

I need a boiler urgently for my 2 bedroom flat. I’m very tempted to get the 100 as it seems great for efficiency. However my flat is 55 sm and would it make a difference on the power for the size of my flat?

@@Heatable Thank, so my understanding is that the stainless steel is more long lasting, but the aluminium ones are able to be made smaller and quieter. Perhaps that's why Viessmann don't get the QuietMark certification like the aluminum ones?

Currently, a boiler service costs about £80.
Are they steel or aluminium ?
Viessmann use stainless steel heat exchangers!

You would need a smart control, Viessman do have their own but we'd recommend the hive!
