At 1:32 that happened to me on a cab once. It had an incandescent bulb holder installed. It burned a similar hole into the wood. Looks like yours used to have a similar bulb fixture installed prior to the proper light fixture. Check for screw holes on the bottom or back pieces where it used to live.
Thank you for actually saying that the smarty pie plays outrun perfectly. I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone in the group. I didn't know that you can play Chase HQ. I like that game as well. Looks like I need to order this thing!
@@kazelasarcade only thing I forgot to mention was that I had to tweak the monitor sync just a bit. Other than that it was plug and play. Outrun plays perfect. You can’t tell that’s it’s not original hardware.
Super nice project that ! Big fan of Outrun myself (and most of the games you showcase). Cannonball Outrun is a super cool project from several years ago that aimed to replace an original SEGA Outrun board (for an orignal cabinet) and also was usable / playable on PC hardware as a stand-alone, but customable emulated version... even supported force feedback, Japanese tracks, wide screen mode, 60 FPS mode (for LCD monitors) and (like you noted) sticky tires, different audio and different colored cars (all editable via its config file). No it was really easy to setup. Could use a better way to lock in those connectors tho. Jim riddle used zip ties on his switcher. Maybe some holes on the pcb to do that but I’m nit picking. Once it’s in and the cab is carefully moved and in place. It’s all good.
Does this save highscores? Also is it possible to change default startup game to one of the others? This would then be great in my turbo outrun cabinet since there are no high score save kits for that. Love chase hq but don´t have room for one in my game room so to have that in the same cabinet would be fantastic 😮
Yes it saves the high scores for outrun. I have not tested the other ones to see if they are saved. You can edit the file to boot any default game you want and the order they appear in the game list.
Why are you calling so many of those games "cheesy"? You obviously don't know your Arcade history and don't know what classics those games are. You're in the wrong hobby buddy... smh...
Always that one guy del haha. You can load up to 9 games. 4 of those are bangers. The rest are filler and were added just cause they work well with the current controls. It says alot after playing these games that Sega is the shit. They were so far ahead of the times. All the sega titles are awesome playing and chase HQ. So arcade history? None of these games have any history but outrun you dork.

I have original boards in my Out Run but have had issues with audio. Been problems since I bought the cab.
@@Bearcade get on the list for the next run. Was around $300 not a bad deal to turn your outrun into a multi game racing machine.
