Most, if not all, modern games are extremely underwhelming for me - including Nintendo's own works - so revisiting older titles is pure bliss.
I think its crazy that @Nintendo is selling Donkey Kong Country Returns for $60. Its a 14 year old game that i could by for my Wii for $20. I could get behind a $40 price tag.

Welcome to being a Donkey Kong fan, where the most exciting thing we have to look forward to is ports of the older games, and Planks of wood for enemies straight out of a Mario 64 level get more attention than the actual main enemy.
Those “leakers” like SwitchForce, Nin10doland, Pyro, or other UA-cam channels claiming the “Nintendo Switch 2” is coming out are just clickbaiters. I would just wait until Nintendo releases a trailer to their new console instead listening to those clickbaiters who are tricking little kids for views
Well what’s worse about it is that it’s just a port not an actual remake or remaster so that’s why it looks like that. Even though the switch isn’t as powerful as the switch 2 the game would look better than it actually looks on switch if it were actually remade or remastered.

Everyone is complaining about various DK games not being on the Switch while I'm admiring the fact that the person/team behind the video made cool transition moments for the SNES games using the original sprites. Easily could've just cut to the gameplay footage like the GB & Switch segments but they went out of their way to make a couple of animated clips for the SNES one. Made the video worth watching in my opinion so props to whoever did that. 👍
Man, it's nice that every single 2D Donkey Kong game is on Switch but I'd give anything to see DK64 make its way to the Switch or the Switch 2 in the future.

It's not my favourite, but then again I have a hard time choosing which DKC really connects with me the most. The whole series is so consistently good.
One thing I find insane is you look at how creative and constantly changing the donkey kong environments are, then you look at Mario's enemies which prior to wonder all kinda were just the same rogues gallery... last I checked *_the two game series canonically take place in the same world._* Where are these guys when Mario comes a stomin'? Where are these lively environments? And why is the side of the world Mario is on so grid-like while with Donkey kong the landscape geometry is more lifelike? Is there someone in the kingdoms sanding down the walls and floor to be neater than out in the wild? Is there some poor Toad with a hammer, chisel and sandpaper going around making sure the entire Mario Bros side of the world is as easily traversed and well kept as possible without major construction? Or are the Donkey Kong games their own continuity?

Man, that music on DK Country on Super Nintendo! I remember my neighbor getting to open it early for Christmas when we were teens. It was cutting edge at the time and probably my favorite days of Rare's work.
I know many people want a new game, but Nintendo, THANK YOU for unleashing the entire franchise onto the Switch! I hope you will consider keeping other franchises alive in such a way. I'd love to play all of the F-Zero, Pilot Wings, and Wave Race games on the Switch! New games are great, but your legendary catalog is also a big reason many of us are here. THANK YOU!!

What I love in early DKs is that weight is flawlessly felt through the game's physics and sounds in an era where rumble pack was years away.
Give Donkey Kong a dedicated studio. 11+ years without a new DK game is ridiculous. We could have had 2 or 3 new titles in that time frame.
