I was there, not knowing what I was about to experience. Friend of mine had a lady friend he was seeing. So one night after work he saw me. He asked , you wanna hang out. I’m going to see my girlfriend at work. There’s some band playing. I said ok. That night I had an experience I’ll never forget. Nirvana forever!
This show was 45 Minutes from my house, I would of totally been there... If I wasn't 7 months old in July of 89' oh well at least I knew Nirvana played 45 minutes away from me twice (Maxwell's 07/13/89 & 04/28/90) and then 30 minutes from me (City Gardens, Trenton 09/27/91). And since Nirvana played at J.C. Dobbs in Philadelphia on July 12, 1989 they most likely drove the turnpike passed my area to get up north to Hoboken NJ to play at Maxwell's on July 13, 1989.
They were wildly popular amongst a specific group of people for the better part of the 90s but in all fairness....they were completely overrated as a band.
I lived on 8th and willow so this is about 7 blocks away. I was 2 years old tho 😐 cant believe i was so close to Kurt!!!!!!
