I first heard them when I randomly bought their CD in 2005. It did not leave my cd player for like a year. I’m now 40 and I still get into moods where I just listen to the album over and over.
Jesus, listening to this for the first time since I was 14 and I am going to turn 27 at the end of 2020. I freaking remember still all of these lyrics. Such an underrated band
Anyone here older than like 20 and actually remembers this band/ album? Or how MTV2 used to play this non stop on rotation? Never got sick of it somehow, even though the song/video played about 3x a day for a good 2 years.
Bought this album the day it came out... I noticed what year it came out and now I feel even older. 2020 Covid quarantine has me listening to my scene girl playlist.
yeah i know! i loved those bands! paramore, the academy is, kill hannah, fall out boy, panic at the disco, hawthorne heights, reliant k, cartel, evan yellow card, and yes cute is what we aim for! your so right! that was my band lol. i miss those days in deed. rock on people. xoxoxo
I remember when I was 9 years old and my brother had this cd so I copied it onto my original xbox along with other cds so I could listen to them whenever I wanted. I turn 30 this year lol
My first concert when I was 17 in 2007. Fallout boy, the academy is. Cobra starship, +44 and some rapper I can't remember Lol. Never will I ever forget!
Wow... When I was a young teenager listening to this, I never imagined I'd have multiple chronic illnesses that truly debilitate my life, physical and neurological. This has me pretty emotional, but in a good way. I'll keep holding my head high. Thanks many years later, TAI
Holy blast to the past, finding them after forgetting about them for years is an emotional roller coaster of a journey. These guys were my jam back in the day.
Aw man, I remember seeing this band live in 2008 when they opened for Panic! It makes me sad to think they're not together, they blew my little 13 year old mind
about 2 years ago I first discovered them and immediatly fell in love. I couldn't stop listening to their music and wanted to see them live as soon as possible. You should've seen my face when I found out that they split up... 15 year old me was DEVASTATED :( and I couldn't even go to one of their reunion concerts because suprise sadly I don't live in the US ugh (I'm still sad)
Actually same I just got in to them a week ago and some one was like I'm so sad They're not a band anymore and I was like WHAT MY HEART IT HURTS now I'm just angry at the world
Met william outside a a show last year...and he is so sweet/sincere seeming! I go to shows alot and meet alot of band members & he was by far the humblest musician I have met. He fell while on stage and was laughing with everyone saying how embarrassed he was.
They broke up over a year ago. We can't see them live, but I would kill to. William Beckett did a house show for us in September and he's the sweetest musician on the planet.
this is the video in which I discovered TAI on Fuse back when Fuse first came out. I am forever grateful for Fuse airing this video. Since then, I've got all their albums, and have seen them live only once, which I wish would have been more. And the day I met William Beckett before his show, I fell in love. He's the most genuine person you'll ever meet. He didn't mind having a good 10 minute conversation with me.
imagine if COLABS where as big as they are now in the 90-early 2000's .............. there'd be so much music that'd NEVER be able to be compared to. more than there already is
I first heard this song when I was in college when it came out and listened to TAI on repeat. I haven't listened to them in years. It's amazing I remembered all the words! Totally underrated band!
oh wow... i never knew that was Gabe in the video... I remember hearing them for the first time, and seeing them live.. awesome experiences!! will not forget..
i remember crying of happiness when i finally got to meet them, now i cry of sadness D': thanks for all of the music though, i think all your fans including me will still be listening to your guys' music when we're 80 years old :)
William has such a feminine figure and I love it. He has a bit of a dad bod now, but y'know that makes sense. I'm so sad they split apart and I'm so sad I'm only just getting into them
"a bit" girl i almost cried at riot fest chicago last fall because he looked like a dad and middle school me was crushed that he didn't look exactly how he did back in 2007 (i get that he's 31 years old and a literal dad but you get what i mean)
This band started to change my life just a little over 8 months ago and I'm so thankful for them. I've made friends through theirs and Cobra Starship's music and it's hard to believe how long it's been. The band is full of really awesome people and they're all super talented. I hope you all love them as much as I do.
Music was great until 2010. Even pop and rap music around the early to mid 2000s and before was so lovely! Listening to this song makes me want to cry. It makes me feel so nostalgic and I really miss my childhood now, when everything was so much easier and fun-filled. Life is so complicated and hard now. The only good music after 2010 is a few pop acts and some pop punk rock acts and a lot of indie rock, but mostly heavier stuff, as in hard rock, post-hardcore, and quite a bit of metal or as many like to call anything that has some form of screaming or growls, "screamo" music in my opinion. There are some nice pop songs still coming out, and some great rap songs, but right now, I'll stick to heavier stuff. But I will NEVER forget bands/artists and songs like these that were truly wonderful, as well as older acts such as Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Enya, Sting, the Eurythmics, Corey Hart, Natalie Imbruglia, Coolio, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Judas Priest, Motley Crüe, and so many great bands and artists spanning many different genres. They moulded and shaped my life. They are some of my fondest memories. It's just so depressing that life sucks so much now and there isn't as good music anymore.
I love them, and i'm sad to see them split up. It was a good long run, and hopefully they will decide to carry on making music. Wether they are together or not.
Ugh when bilvys shirt rides up and you can see a little bit of his hips ugh leave me alone. But no i miss these guys i'm praying for a reunion tour or something because i just miss them. 9+ years of my life dedicated to them. Hold your head high heavy heart
I forgot all about this band and I'm disappointed in myself for it lol. I all of a sudden remembered and I regret the last 10 years where I neglected their music.. the early 2000s were the best for music.
fast forward a couple of years later and I still can't figure out what William whispered to the nurse. so happy theyre back btw! :D. but does anyone know what he whispers to her?
Ive been listening to this for 15 years. And now my mom is dying an extremely painful death. I never realized how much importance this song had until now.
I’ve been obsessed with the academy is… recently, and I quite literally cannot stop listening… William Beckett is just so… 😫

The good ole mid 00s when Fuse still played rock music, the mall was the place to chill, and MySpace was the only social media site.
this brings back memories, love this song.
Saw them on their Reunion tour, I really hope they go on tour for their Santi album like they did for Almost here. that would be amazing.
