My favourite Jackie song. I miss him very much. Jackie was my friend and musical mentor and was always so kind to me, even putting one of my songs on an album. God bless you Jackie.
I saw this amazing gentleman live in a Concert at a Torquay folk Club in the very early 1970s, We only knew him as John St Fields but when he sang and played we knew were in the presence of greatness We never saw or heard of him again until we did some searching and found that he was indeed Jackie Leven . An unmistakable voice even after all these years, I know I have only ever heard a voice like that once before , indescribable is the gift of music and insight bestowed on him
This man was better than just a singer-songwriter. This man was truly a prolific artist. Painted songs like freaking Picasso and Van Gogh. A genius with lyrics and music. Blessed with a great voice and storytelling. I love everything this man ever released. How can that be? How? RIP Jackie. Rock & Roll Heaven needed a divine songwriter. You were the only one who fit the bill and now Leonard Cohen has joined you. I always believed Jackie was the only songwriter who could even approach the quality of Cohen. He approached it in many ways.

Just love this. Saw him several times. A larger than life character in so many ways. Fabulous songs and stories
A timelss classic from the big man who left us far too early and with much more work to do. One of my all time favorite songs..

Thomas Geruschkat ja, mir gefällt auch sehr:-)
fotomodo cool.. Der Song ist ja wie aus einer anderen Sphäre, die durch das Lied wie zum Greifen nah wirkt oder wirklich ist.
i listen to this today on the anniversary of jackies sad death the 14th november 2011 the great spirit calls still
.....stunning........so deep.
i would almost like him to say (7:13) - "if i could only step out of this body i would break into blossom". Beautiful song.
+Dominic Conroy - He's quoting the James Wright poem, 'A Blessing'. I respect Jackie for being true to the original.
One of his very best for sure...
perfection....vastly underated.
Yess, you are pretty right!
RIP dear Jackie
Coming back every week.
this song would have been nice with a choir added and a solo electric guitar what do you think friends
clifford marsh Nope. It's perfect as it is.
D'Ascoyne you are right, why change a song, which is perfect...
