I would love to see a Mechassault review from you, if you ever happen upon a copy. Really solid game with a difficulty curve that is based entirely on what mechs you choose to play. Definitely a fun time to be had, I think you would enjoy it. Anyways, great review as always, love your work brother.
I just realised that yeah, aside from the pool tables, DDR kept my local arcade running a couple of years before it closed. That and Initial D machines.
I have the PS3 sly collection, good games that are a mix of Spyro and metal Gear. Surprised that I missed out on these games because I loved collect a thon platformers as a kid
What you said about game development is true, when working on my game I hope some of the inspiration doesn't date the game horrendously. Sadly that is not the case for many other developers as many of them are still trying to ride the crest of the 90's nostalgic wave to the shore without releasing that what made the 90's a great time for games. YIIK (pronounced Y 2 K) is the best example of this. The 90's videogames were great due to their apolitical or fuck your politics nature and how it was more about the adventure and the characters, not the profit. *You wouldn't believe how many pronoun freaks make up the indie game development crowd. One that I have unfortunately met blames seasonal allergies on sexism unironically* Games now even have this problem of trying to be something else than itself. Trying to make a quick buck off of shady business practices and WOW! NOSTALGIA! The design philosophy of the 90's died out once megacorps formed around videogames like every meduim. The last nail in the coffin is when people went from "fuck mega corporations" to "is this megacorp woke or not" EA and many others got away with scamming people simply because their games were woke a journalist parasites blame the "rightwing" boogieman for why a game doesn't sell and it makes just enough for these companies to keep making these "mistakes"
The iconoclasts and aggressively apolitical seemed to have just as much cultural pull as the prissy pearl clutchers during this time frame. I'd take that flawed zeitgeist over the current order. We all know what side corporations took over the long term. All of them have the same policies. The only difference is how vociferously they sound their megaphone about whatever is considered "woke."
The 2 sequels only get better in my opinion. I, like you, only recently got into ps2 games and I have to say that the first jak and Daxter game was also great definitely worthy of looking into.
Yeah I prefer the time when Iraq was stable and doesn't led to horrible domino effects on global scale Also did you know that the current president of United States just turned full blown neocon recently
In near future all citizens will be identified by our fursona
I remember playing this game as a kid and my dad making fun of the dialogue and voice acting. Especially that Steve Jobs turtle wannabe.

Well, I'll definitely gonna have to make a point of trying the game out as well. Don't even remember why I never got into it, just didn't.

Is it furry to like Carmelita? Her accent is hot, these things sexually confuse me.

I also only like her in the first game because of her accent. Once she loses her accent I stopped caring about her.
